My mother Kathy Sue, known to you as BDG, passed away 9/11/08. I am sorry I am just now posting this. I remembered that she used to post on the old squalor board, infact I was the person that sent her the link to the site many years ago. I didn't see her usual username on the new site and thought she was no longer posting with you guys. It wasn't until today as I sorted through all her old emails that I found her username and all the posts she made. I can't wait to read them all. She used to frequent another board and I have treasured reading those posts as well.
She died in the early morning hours of 9/11, from what appeared to be a sleep apnea related heart arrhythmia. She woke up unable to breathe and having chest pains. She called 911 and only managed to say "I can't breathe...". She was gone by the time the ambulance arrived.
It was touching to see that the day before she was on here posting. She did not like to get out of the house much so she found her interaction with the world through boards like this one. Thanks to all who befriended my mother here. I miss her terribly everyday. How ironic that I found her posts almost exactly a year after her first post here.
At any rate, I thought some of you may have wondered where she went and wanted to let you know.
Laura

I am so sorry for your loss, Laura. Thanks for letting us know.
I remember your mother well! She shared lots of wisdom with us; in fact, just recently someone linked to an old post of hers. I'm glad to hear she enjoyed making friends on these boards.
We will miss her.

Dear Laura, BDG was a respected member of our community for many years. I had begun to worry about her recently, as I noticed she hadn't posted in a long time.
Here is a description of BDG's method of housecleaning. It's helped a lot of us through the years. Here is her method: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/16222 UPDATE:There's a new thread as a tribute to BDG -- in which we can all do some small thing using "the BDG method" to desqualor or maintain our homes: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/5261
Here was what BDG had posted about her health: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/921BDG's final post on the forum, the day before she passed on: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/1640Dear Laura, Thank you so much for letting us know. I haven't got any fitting words to say at this time. But I really want you to know that I care, and send my love to you and yours.

Oh, this is a shock to read this. I think I remember on the old board one time she remarked that BDG meant "Big Domestic Goddess". Laura, thanks for posting and letting us know. to you and yours.

Oh wow, this is such a shock! I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Thanks so much for letting us know, I had wondered why she hadn`t been in here in a long time, but that is one of the sad things about internet communities, sometimes people just drop out of sight and you never know what happened to them. Laura, thank you for letting us know. I am so sorry that you have lost your mother. Mine has been gone for several years and I miss her still. Special days were the hardest and I still sometimes find myself looking for birthday cards or mother's day cards for. It is great that you are able to treasure her words at the forums she frequented.

I am in shock, very sad to read this. I was a long time lurker at the first site. Your Mom's posts were very helpful to me. Never got to meet her IRL but felt as if I knew her from her posts. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Will miss her very much. Thank you for letting us know.

Laura, I am so sorry. BDG will be sorely missed here too. She was so inspirational to me for years. First at Squalor Survivors and then here. I LOVED the BDG method of cleaning, especially when I was feeling depressed, unmotivated, or when I was sick. Thank you for leading her to SS. 3G
