You're all doing so great! Good luck with your hard decisions, imamess and congrats on letting those shoes go. Wow, 1rarebeautifuldove you'll have tons of birds to admire in no time - that's a bird buffet you've got going, yay! I know what you mean about this site - IDK where I'd be without it. Probably death by dust allergy? You've done so much in 10 months, that's terrific - major kudos for getting all those bags out. peaceandfreedom Badweeds, that's funny. I'm not very good at pulling weeds, unless they're in the veggie garden. Then they're *Bleeping* weeds, when they're trying to take over! That's hard work, and 26 gallons is huge - WTG. I'm happy to announce that my Bureau is Bare! The desk area & the top drawer are empty, the second drawer has "Bye bye" written all over it - which leaves the lowest drawer, only half full of important papers. Wheeeee for me!

imamess great job on cleaning up the bedroom and making those tough decisions. You are doing great. Heres some positive energy to help with the fabric, i know that is difficult. 1rarebeautifuldove great work getting all those bird feeders and baskets of flowers up. It sounds beautiful. peaceandfreedom great job on getting up those blastedweeds. Yes, they definetely count here. 26 gallons is alot, thats awesome. cyn wtg on getting through those papers and clearing out the bureau. Bare is a wonderful word and im glad it applies to the bureau now. Not that i like sterile but it paves the way for beautification, which helps to prevent clutter from coming back.

Exciting progress from everyone!
Yesterday I went through two large bins of old papers. Released about 80% from both of the bins. The papers I'm keeping are consolidated in one of the bins. The other bin is empty, for now. There is a box of old papers to get done next and I anticipate that some of those will end up in the now empty bin.

Thanks Unswamping! I've only just begun. There are at least two more boxes of potent papers in this upstairs Doom Room. Much, much more in photos and memorabilia downstairs.

angela I'll be working on my bins of papers right along with you - that's my to-do for next week, since I *have* to shrink that awful plastic mountain. WTG, 80% is an awesome reduction! I hope I can come close to that with mine. That's impressive!

Great job angela! I think I will join in with you and cyn on papers next week, I have just done the non-sentimental ones but it's the two Boxes of memorabilia that will be much harder to deal with! And then there are photos...luckily photo doesn't start with B!

Today I decided to look inside a Blue expandable file - I had covered it with Blue fabric years ago, and when I picked it up it was loose. I looked inside --- I decided to toss all but about 6 items. 45 papers went into that bin, 29 other flat things like photos of me and an old Boyfriend went into another Bag for trash. Many of these papers were interesting things like articles about decluttering, recipes from magazines, photocopied pages for instructions from a Book about decluttering - S.H.E. book - about 20 - 24 pages. For reference to do that system. Which, by the way, I was only good at making the cards, not actually doing the activities.
8 things from another Box went into the trash also.
I moved 3 boxes to another location from the family room
Tomorrow - I hope to make a good start on the stack of boxes along the wall, and move other boxes into the craft room. Try to sort them better. I have 3-4 pretty boxes which are in the Little Master Closet, that I would like to put to use.

1rarebeautifuldove great job on clearing out those old papers and photos. I have stacks of decluttering articles too. They obviously arent working for me if theyve just become part of the hoard. I am getting better about releasing them as i come across them.

Unswamping, yes I have bunches of decluttering articles, threaded between other papers in the bundles and boxes. Finding it slow going just now. I hope that I can follow your example and release any I come across.

jendela i hope you can release them. Most of it is probably online anyway, which is what i tell myself. Makes it easier to let go. im going to work on bags today, i have shop and drop bags scattered throughout the house, mostly on the floor since there isnt any space on the piles. How bad is it? The two twenty pound bags of cat litter that were delivered weeks ago are still in the middle of the lving room floor when the guy dropped them. There was a third bag that ripped open which i did pull my litter container (it has wheels) into the living room and dumped it in there. There was only space in the container for the one bag. The container did get put away so i guess im a little ahead of the game. eta: im also going to work on brackets today. I just bought new ones, having given up hope of finding the two i already own. So im going to put those up and then hang the birdcages i bought, what a month ago?. Then i can get the plants safely out of cat reach. Maybe i might even start a pot of kitty grass for them.

Finally! Got the brackets and birdcages hung. Well only half the birdcages. Im such a hoarder, i had bought 12. Cant see hanging the others yet, the pots i bought and put the plants in are too big to fit in the birdcages. I dont want to transplant them again right now, they have been suffering enough. While i was up there i dusted the cobwebs and the layer of cat hair on top of the window trim. I also hung a different curtain temporarily. As i working, i knocked the curtain down (which was supposed to be temporary too). I was going to rehang and realzed i should wash it first, its filthy. I posted a photo on my blog.
