Ally, sounds like that bathroom was a good place to start, if you can easily get a lot of stuff out from there!

Well, I'm very happy because all these things are part of my challenge goals! My back is hurting now so I think I'm done for today, thanks for starting this today, Ally! I hope you found lots of donations to get out of the house.

desposito. I have a box from work, the kind that printer paper is delivered in. It is overflowing. This morning when I went to take my shower, I found more. I did sort through most of them yesterday, and saved some that are designed for leaky bladder... I know. TMI. I have an acquaintance that runs an unofficial "pantry" from her front porch. It's just a word-of-mouth sort of thing with a facebook page. She accepts donations and then keeps some shelves and a cabinet stocked with food, some clothing, and some household items, like diapers. She can be picky about what she takes, but I asked and she said that I can bring them over. I plan to sort through them again and put the loose ones in bags, then I'll take them over. (I have 2 gallon size bags filled with tampons... Yep I'm a hoarder. To be honest, my hysterectomy was done as an emergency surgery, so I didn't know that I was going to stop needing them, and I bought some for my daughter thinking she'd take them to college, but she didn't and now she uses reusable, washable products.

Ally, that sounds like a good place for them! There was a woman who did that in my old neighborhood when Covid first started and people were losing their jobs, such a nice thing to do.
It always feels easier to get rid of things if you know they'll go to someone who wants/needs them.

I used to go to church with her. and she and her husband where talking about doing this 3.5 years ago. I remember thinking, Are you crazy? Inviting strangers to come onto your porch to take things? They launched it in January of 2020, just before the pandemic started. The timing was perfect. Unfortunately the following fall they had a major house fire, and had to gut the house and start over (old stone farm house) They shut down for a while, but reopened as soon as they could.

I ate some lunch, watered my houseplants, and decided that I would try to repot 2 orchids that haven't been doing well. (One had been knocked over/out of the pot, and had never really been place back in the pot correctly.) Plants are watered, 2 orchids repotted. Next roll: 6 Bathroom. I could do either one. I guess I'll start downstairs. 5-10 minutes or 10 items discarded. Go!

I think I'm going to try some dice gaming today. Hoping that maybe today I'll get through everything I want to do. I already know I won't get this all done today, but I can roll it over.
Rules: Start with list one. If I have already done an item on that list, move down. If I've done all items for that number get some water, and then re-roll. Some items are actually two separate smaller tasks. Tidying categories: Dishes, Clothes, Trash, Stuff that needs a home, Stuff that has a home
1. Unload dishwasher/Reload dishwasher
2. 5-minute counter tidy
3. 5-minute table tidy
4. Start a load of laundry
5. 10 minutes pick-a-category
6. Vacuum kitchen floor
1. Handwash dishes
2. Wipe down counter 3. Wipe down table
4. 10 minutes pick-a-category 5. Make a packing list
6. Swiffer kitchen floor
1. Clean sink 2. 10 minutes pick-a-category or vacuum a room 3. Kids' bathroom floor 4. Put away a load of laundry 5. Kids' toilet
6. Shoe rack/coat rack tidy
Roll 1: Vacuum kitchen floor Roll 2: 5-minute table tidy - love when it takes less time than I expect. Roll 3: 5-minute counter tidy - This will almost certainly take longer than five minutes. Roll 4: Wet Swiffer kitchen Roll 5: Start a load of laundry Roll 6: up to 10 minutes of trash collection (added clothes because there wasn't much of either on the main floor) --One left in the first list, so I'll just unload/reload the dishwasher--
For the time being I'm going to take a break. I'll try to be back around 3 CDT (or earlier)

Round two using the same list
Roll 1: up to 10 minutes gathering stuff dishes and stuff that has a home (I have been primarily focusing on the floors but occasionally remember that surfaces exist) Roll 2: Wipe kitchen counter Roll 3: (Hydration break for double roll) Shoe rack and maybe coat rack
There was another roll in there somewhere. I feel happy with what I've accomplished (including outside of the dice game). I probably won't be able to pick much of anything up tomorrow as the tiny humans and I are going on an outing. We'll see how it goes.
