Good afternoon golden!
Ohblondie, I love your plan of clearing square feet of floor space--you will see your progress foot by foot--and if you only have a short time to work, clearing one square foot will still be doable!
OnTheMend, maybe tomorrow you can share more of how your apartment searching works--I assume that in this day of technology you are looking at virtual apartment tours online? Do you have to pay anything to fill out an application? Or does that just mean you want the management to check out your credit and let you know if they would accept you as a tenant? Will you go see a chosen apartment in person before committing to it? Hopefully you will sleep well tonight after working hard all day.
I ended up going out to the pharmacy with my sister's insurance cards, it actually didn't take that much off the cost of these particular medications, but they were 90 day supplies of 3 meds so my sister said it was not far off what she usually would pay. Then I came home, sat in the AC for 20 minutes to cool off, and then took the dog out for a walk to the library to throw some books in the outside return bin, and to the mailbox. The sun is so hot, and unfortunately this neighborhood has very few trees or anything else that provides shade--it seems that everywhere I walk I am in the full sun. The residential blocks in my old neighborhood were lined with huge old trees and even when it rained in summer, there were routes that you walk that kept you relatively dry. Here I feel like I'm living in the desert... I'm sure it will feel much better in the fall and winter. Especially if it's freezing cold out, then I will probably be happy to walk in the sun.
My sister doesn't want to eat for another half hour so I will do a list until she's ready.
Next:
Unpackage new flashlight and put batteries in Start some dishes soaking 10 minutes plants Delete 25 emails

Diane, It's difficult to explain how this is done in my country when I don't have nothing to compare to. I also lack English vocabulary of the correct terminology, making the explaining even more difficult.
I can tell you this: I live at the other side of the country than where I am moving, so I can't see the apartments in person. There are websites where rental agents (and also individuals wishing to rent their apartmetment to someone) posts their free rental apartments (photos, blueprints, specs and other useful data), I get notifications to my email when new apartments fitting my search preferences is posted, I check them out and if it's something that would suit me I fill out the application, telling them I am interested in this and this apartment. The rental agent then might contact me and ask for more information about me. This doesn't cost me anything, the person who wants to rent the their apartment via the rental agents pays the fees. When I do rent my new home I wil pay X months worth of deposit, and when I eventually move out I will get the deposit back. The rental agents, if my application gets to a certain point of the process, check my background, financial situation etc. I have also submitted general applications to the rental agents, specifying what kind of apartments I am looking for, and they will try to find me a match. I can't really explain it better than this.
***
I just replied to one of the rental agents about an apartment, and sent them some documents they asked me to send.
I had hoped to submit more applications this evening, to one particular rental agent especially, but these other tasks ate my evening hours away (organizing tomorrow's errands, and friend coming over to see the furniture I am giving away or selling and replying to this other rental agent about a particular apartment).
It's past 10 PM so I will call it a day and start relaxing before going to sleep. Have a fantastic evening, everybody!

I ate a couple ice creams this week, n a bag of fries. My hair was more greasy today. Oil comes right out. Ugg.
Snipped a big white tag off of the lounger, it's been bothering me. Washed greasy hair Got more laundry together Sprayed a bleach solution on the bathroom tiles. Used a broom to rub it in. Tiny spider critters are in there. First time ever. Will spray it 5 or 6 times coz of my OCD. Hope that will kill them off. Defrosting my new baby fridge

Good afternoon oust!
OnTheMend, you described your search very well, I was just wondering what it was like today to search for an apartment that wasn't in your area. I know that larger apartment buildings, or smaller ones that charge high rents, have virtual tours online so that you can see the whole apartment without making a trip to see it. Here, you usually have to pay something if you apply for an apartment and the landlord wants to get your credit score before renting to you--and there are no refunds if they refuse you, so it can cost a lot to apartment search. It's exciting to think of all the options available to you!
I stopped for a reading break and almost fell asleep in the chair, but now I have to go downstairs and see how my sister is doing.

30 minutes on the doom paper pile. A few things got shredded, some tossed out. Let go a 4 year old pair of sandals. Don't support my feet like they used to. Took out trash and recycling. Sat outside, but its to humid after the rain.

I tried for a nap but the bedroom is already too hot, I could tell that I was not going to fall asleep, so I gave up.
I got a small box of 4 plants that I ordered. When I had all my plants moved over here, they were moved by my friend, and her friend--I trust them totally, so I know that if they accidentally ruined a plant they would have told me. Well, after I got my plants settled in their new home and started inspecting and caring for them properly again, I noticed that one was missing. It was a little jade plant of a particular type, and I checked and doublechecked, it was missing. Now, this was during the time that the thief was helping my sister, and the only thing I can think of is that she took it on her way out, while they were still on the porch. That sounds a little paranoid, but I cannot think of any other way this plant could have disappeared.
Well, I decided to buy a replacement of the same type, it's tiny, in a 2-inch pot, but I feel better having replaced it. And I also bought a little agave plant--again, very small, and I don't know how well it will do since they need so much sunshine to thrive--but I've always wanted an agave--I will put it under my brightest grow light and hope it's happy. Plus 2 other small hybrid succulents since the shipping cost didn't rise when I added them. I keep thinking that once October gets here, I can't order any more plants until spring, so...
Plant mail always makes me happy!
For the next half hour:
10 minutes on PEEPing Get recycling ready to take downstairs Get dinner for my sister
Delete 25 emails

I woke up at 8 today - not bad. I have been filling out and sending applications ever since, I might have lost my count but at least 4 applications are now sent, plus I emails to couple agencies.
I have also been tidying a bit, my friend comes over to look at few of my furniture pieces today.
Next I need to eat my breakfast, then take a shower, pop at the grocery store and get a package, and then a bit more dusting of the furniture pieces in quastion and washing few dishes by hand.
I would have so many more applications to send, but I think Ill need to shoft my focus now, otherwise I won't get things done before my friend comes.

OK I still filled one larger application (one application for 4-5 apartments). That was the most labour intensive application, glad it's done. Now off to eat breakfast!

Thank you, I am starting to be in panic mode to be honest. I just reminded one large agency about my general application I submitted to them at the end of July, and listed 4 suitable apaprtments in my email. I also have now showered, and next I'll blow dry my hair, get dressed and put my face on.

Good Morning - it is finally friday! And it is amazing what a good night of sleep will do - I feel so much better!
Last night I went home and pulled out a big bag of trash. Not as big as the night before but a big one none the less. I dragged out all the bags of bottles and cans my son had down there. All bags are on the back porch ready to be returned. I am in search of a bigger box to pack his stuff in - and a hose to get the dehumidifier hooked back up. That will be tonight's goals.
I cant wait to read what you all are doing - let's finish the week out strong!!

Good morning!
it is finally friday
Our perspective is so different depending on if we're working or retired! I thought this morning--I can't believe it's Friday again so soon--the weekend comes around so fast!
Today I will go to the library, there are 2 books waiting for me, that's the only outside thing on the schedule for today.
I need to get meds and breakfast for my sister now.
