Thanks SH. Thanks for your encouragement.
Got some more plastic shelving that just snaps together. (Not all that attractive and doesn't hold as much as I would like, but it is inexpensive and does not weigh very much.)
Wiped that down with a paper towel and alcohol. Put them together. Wiped down floor area. Put some things on the shelves and wiped down more of floor.
---- Tossed some dishes and a book.
Amnesty.
Much to do, but I can see some progress.
It is nice to see progress.

Basics plus something else is my theme again. DDD, keep up on taking out the Trash and Recycling (TR). Vacuumed and rinsed AC filters. Shredded a mailer and trashed it. Am working on keeping in mind that Motivation Follows Action.

Am still working on: Dinner, Dishes, Duds, with Trash/Recycling. Keeping bills paid. Adding something else each day, no matter how small. Increasing Areas of Maintenance.Today, in the Plus One Category:Cleaned toilet bowl and bathroom sink. Sterilized toilet seat and lid with hydrogen peroxide. PUPA Category:Put some important papers in a better file. Hung up some clothes from the laundry rack.
Get It Done Category:Hung laundry on laundry rack right away instead of resting first and possible forgetting about damp laundry in a bag. Put the groceries in the fridge right away instead of resting first, and possibly forgetting about the cold things in the insulated bag.

newlifetoday I admire you made an organized list (and anyone who does them!)... I find I am not doing that, keeping it in my mind sorta works...
I find since I can do far less than 2 years ago that I just feel overwhelmed if I make lists and don't get any of them 'accomplished.' This is a "phase" I believe, I have made dozens of lists and filled up full spiral notebooks over the last 15 years with directions for yard workers or handy men.. in the last few years I just had to let go and not fuss over any of it.
With the continual lockdown in CA there is no reason to fuss, no one is ever coming to the door!
The adding something small no matter what it is I find IS a good bonus to each day!!! ... I may not be attacking the still cluttered 2nd bedroom from the major purge I did in 2017 when I came here... yikes, 4 years! .. but I HAVE learned not to move things just to move them -- that is no forward movement at all. Better to let something sit in the same place until it can be really put where it belongs or get donated.
(I learned from a gnomish little handyman to "never move your wood twice"... he, like me, was big on recycling and salvaging building materials, anything that can be used without spending to buy new at 'Home Despot" as we called it. ...well I sometimes moved that salvaged wood 5 times...(a decade ago) but figured out he was right... unless you are tripping over it and its blocking a doorway then just let it sit there and use our human energy for a better project with a chance of completion.
Now the the days are sun and gorgeous, a bit windy, I am more motivated to tackle a few weeding projects in the front yard where it looks like this cottage had been abandoned to the wilderness. ( I do have 30+ Foxglove which will grow to be 6' tall with intense magenta colors popping up all around the cherry tree out front... so I can't have a bad guy pick around those, and will do it myself. I have a clump of tall seed pod grasses ready to spread damage all over, so tackling that and the other NON desirable plants out of eyesight is my goal this next week. I kinda miss sitting on my little rolling stool and puttering with tending the front in my ancient baggy green granny sweater and a floppy straw hat!
Congrats on making progress!!! keep up the great work! PS this is an image of the tall wild Foxglove I collected seeds from a few years ago in the forest where I used to walk the dogs... the delicate seeds are smaller than grains of salt, and hate being 'planted' or managed...so once I got some to grow against the wooden fence line I discovered they 'volunteered' to move into the yard too where I hope to see a nice colorful collection bloom this year !!!! I will take pics as they come into their beauty!! Attachment Deleted

H2H, thank you for your kind visit. Lists are easier after I have done the work. Most of my To-Do lists are in my mind. I do write lists for shopping, because I shop for someone else who has very specific needs. I keep trying to simplify my lifestyle to take off some of the pressure.
I, too, miss being outside gardening, sitting and puttering. Oh well. Thanks for the lovely flower pic!
My ability to up-and-do has become more the last two years, as well. Esp. going shopping with a rollator.
Thanks for your kind encouragement. I wish you a lovely week-end and success with your projects.

I often am slow decluttering, dehoarding and maintaining while dealing with aging and health issues.
BDG's methods (posted in Favorite Threads)have helped.
Today I viewed a YouTube by Dana K. White (author of A Slob Comes Clean and other books) titled Better is Good. When I could only do a little bit this morning I told myself, "Better is Good" and you know...the results were good!

gaylem How nice to have you post here. Aging and health challenges, yes. Unless it is critical to do something exactly and/or quite well, I mostly just choose "better" these days. I said, "It isn't good, but it's better" several times today while doing some chores. PUPA is not yet PEEP but it is better. As I inch along, with stops and rests, the areas of maintenance are multiplying. There is more order, and less anxiety. That is good. My goal is have enough order and enough methods in place, that I am calm and smiling.

Still on dailies plus one:
Bleached water bottles and lids. Bleached nylon net I use for washing dishes.
Expanding Areas of Maintenance/EAM:
Cleaned a portion of the bathroom counter. Cleaned another portion of the bathroom counter. Have been cleaning the toilet bowl at least once per week.
