tildy breaking up the dresser. That method has worked well for me. Have a tall cheap wood file cabinet that will be next on my breaking up list. A neighbor will haul off the pieces.

tildy breaking up the dresser. That method has worked well for me. Have a tall cheap wood file cabinet that will be next on my breaking up list. A neighbor will haul off the pieces. One of the things I enjoy watching are the folks who go through storage lockers they have purchased - not the somewhat obnoxious 'Storage Wars' tv guys, just regular people who buy, sort and try to make a buck. And one of the things I've learned watching them is how brutal they are getting rid things with virtually no value to anyone, yet still 'good'. And one of these lessons is how they just break apart and dispose of pieces of non-needed 'cheap' furniture. Thanks to watching them, last month I broke apart of weird shelving unit I had been not using, but keeping, but really did not know what to do with. Now it's gone. I did not learn how to throw or get rid of things growing up (Mum had a very, very, very strong 'don't throw that away' bias), but I'm learning it now. Knowing how and when to donate or toss is such a fundamental, functional skill. Out the house today: -our own totally full trash, green, and recycling bins -nice full kitchen-sized trash bag with garage trash into the neighbors bin for Tues. pickup -the neighbors recycling bin was half empty, so I filled that too. That's a lot of stuff gone today. Added up, that's approx 300 gallons of trash, recy, and green waste gone from this property today!!
