I am fortunate to live in a town that is known for its older trees. You have to get the town's permission to cut them down. Some guy decided on his own to cut down trees in his back yard when he remodeled his house. He got a hefty fine and had to replant a tree for everyone he cut. Looking at the remodel - I don't think it put a dent in his pocket. We had to beg the town to cut down the tree in our front yard. We did not want to do it but it was rotten in the core and the town would have to pay for any damages if it fell. It was a silver maple and now we have a regular maple (sugar maple?) in our yard.
I always try to plant bee and butterfly friendly plants in my yard. I also do not use chemicals in my yard for the same reason. Much to the chagrin of the perfect yard neighbors!
today was all about doctors appointments. And helping a friend get her daughter to a music lesson. My DD is here cleaning the house for my parents. The cleaning lady had surgery and is out for a few weeks.
I also need to confirm movers and covid tests for the parents. And get measurements. They want to order a new smaller sofa.
OK - time for the next errand.......

I stopped to take a shower. We finally have drizzle again, this time it's been going on for about 10 minutes. I have to take the dog out soon, assuming the rain stops, and after that call my shopping friend.
One more short list before then:
Next:
10 minutes on file project Wash remaining dishes Clean out dishpan and sink

Diane - puppy is nine month old. I wish you could come to play, she loves to play fetch but she does not quite understand the drop the ball when you bring it back part. or maybe she does and just enjoys the game of chase that ensues!
I finished big scary project!!! Such a huge relief. This has been a concern for about two months and it is DONE!
Just took DD to her friends to swim went and vac'd my car at a car wash place. before i put any money in I decided to just try the button and it came on twice! so it wa a free vac returned some bottles
next shower, then pick up DD, then we are off to a ceremony to celebrate one of DD's many activities which has now ended. it will be great for college apps! She also unexpectedly rec'd an award certificate from her school today so happy dance.

I always try to plant bee and butterfly friendly plants in my yard.
I feel much better reading all of the comments here. I should have known that our wonderful work-along family is doing the right things!
Bree, yay for finished projects--now you can have a stress free weekend! (Unless chaos boss calls a bunch of meetings tomorrow.)
I talked to my shopping friend for almost 2 hours again, she's still trying to talk out all of her feelings about going to an independent living facility, the one she really likes is a little more than she can afford. They are really expensive--I'll never be able to afford one of those places!
I had dinner, and now it's time to get ready for bed.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Good early morning!
The good news is that we finally got some rain!
The bad news is that the thunder started at 3am, which means the dog woke me up, and about 20 minutes after that I saw flashing lights on the street and saw a fire engine sitting in front of the house next door. So I got dressed and went to the front porch to make sure that there wasn't a fire somewhere, after a few minutes I could see that a couple of doors ahead of the fire engine there was an ambulance, so the engine was just there as back up. I did try to go back to bed but the thunder continued so the dog continued being upset. I finally decided to get up and start the day.
The other good news is that being up so early gave me the chance to test my outside motion detector lights, this is the first time I've been up in the dark, they both work.
Now I guess I'll eat an early breakfast.

Good morning, everyone. Yesterday, I didnβt do any more from my list.
I am going yard sailing with my friend this morning. I am going to try to buy only things I truly need. For example, I need four picture frames for a gift project, curtains for my grandpaβs bedroom, cleaning supplies, cotton capris for myself, 3 large flower pots for my front porch. It is so good for the planet to buy used/thrifted vs. new.
I Will make a list when I get back from yard sales.

Good morning PS, TT, and sue.
About an hour ago a steady, hard drizzle started up again, it's perfect--not so much that will flood the basement but it will water the plants nicely. Finally!
TO DO:
10 minutes on plants 10 minutes on file project Restock water in fridge Delete 30 emails

Kind of embarrassed. I woke up and looked at my watch and it said 5 mins before 8. So I called a moving referral and left a message. I got up, made coffee, got the shower set up for my dad. He was still snoring so I let him sleep. The moving person called back - we chatted. I then realized it was only 7:45........I called this poor guy before 7am. UGH....... No wonder I was tired when I got out of bed.
doing laundry today. kinda putzing around. trying to decide if I want to go to a garage sale.

Good morning everypony!
I also am not surprised by the general ethos of this thread. Its nice to wake up to. Much nicer than my high maintenance friends that I am hoping to slip slide away from! As for me, I am hoping that as I improve my diet it will help my mood. Apparently zinc/copper imbalances make a difference. I already take the B6. Lately I've been eating nothing but the "no-no" side of the insulin resistance chart. Time to eat me spinach!
DONE: sweep deck make coffee load/run dw
write check online balance x2 check email watch platelet donation video
again, I need a plan...

So a friend picked up my mom and they are off to measure the new apartment. My mom wants to order a new smaller sofa. She also wants to see what furniture will fit and where.
I am deleting emails.
Almost time for lunch
