Hello scholar!
Ohblondie, that's nice that your mom is checking out the new apartment, hopefully she'll feel good about going there.
I'm moving like molasses today, everything feels like an effort. I guess I can't be productive for more than a few days in a row! I took the dog out, and just like that, it has turned from cool and rainy, to no rain, but warm and super muggy. I just closed all the windows for the first time in several days. It turned out that there was a decent amount of rain after all, I'm thankful for that. Next I'm going to do some work on the first floor so I'll check the basement and see if there's any leakage.
Next:
Move laundry to dryer 10 minute on file project 10 minutes in basement Open and put away stuff from the two boxes that arrived the other day

Ugh, I see there is a Windows 11 -- I only got Windows 10 a year and a half ago and it took me months to get used to it!
Stopping for lunch now, and a reading break.

well the only then I've gotten done is to watch a video about insulin resistance. I took a nap hoping to reset my mood. discovered I didn't take my meds yesterday, which didn't help.
I think I need to carry on with KonMari, which means getting dressed. that would be good!

Scholar, I hope you're Konmari-ing right now. Are you supposed to hug your clothes and listen for a secret message from them? Hey, whatever works for you.
Next:
Clean up from lunch Check out cable news at 1:30 10 minutes on plants 10 minutes cleaning out miscellaneous drawer in sink cabinet, it has gotten on my final nerve...

Happy Friday! we are having a rather nice day a little humid now though.
today was a kind of crazy day.... workwise - had emails from the two people i don't like working with of all the people in the company. one because she is very hard two work with, won't share information, but demands information. another because they suck up our time with so many demands and even say "I just want someone to do this so I don't have to" - not very inspiring!!!
and I prepared a veggie burger with some toppings but no bread for a brunch meal. and I dropped it on my lap, the toppings side hit, and I may have just ruined a pair of capris! soaking them now.
I had to drive DD t o and fro for a bit. now home and relishing the quiet - none of the neighbors surrounding my house are home at the moment, so quiet and private and no lawn mowers running! I am on my deck, it is a little too hot but it is so peaceful.
last night was fun - we had a grad ceremony for a DD program. just pleasant and proud of her! when we arrived home, we took pup for a walk.
I am done working for the day and I want to vacuum. puppy is at daycare and so time to vac up all her fur, and the cats too. I want to fight the urge to take a nap. being alone in my house and puppy free is too rare of time to nap!
after I dropped pup off this morning, I returned a library book. feeling some pride for that, as it was not yet due, and I am usually a little late, not a little early, with library books.

I wanted to mention that I have a milkweed plant in my yard!
I did not know that i had one but from reading this thread- I googled milkweeds and realized that’s what I have. it’s very pretty to me; I would never pull it and I’m glad to know that I’m helping butterflies. I had no idea.

so I found an uplifting makeover show and I have gone through a big bin of bottoms KonMari style. Put aside quite a few to sell/consign, and put some in the donate box. Fit more than I expected to, as well. I'm taking a break. There were so many good quotes on the show. I think I'll use one as my siggy.

wanted to mention that I have a milkweed plant in my yard!
Oh, cool! I think I mentioned here that my milkweed plant started doing better and growing, but then I saw a milkweed beetle on it? Well, since that time, I have seen more milkweed beetles as well as earwigs on it...it will be amazing if this plant doesn't get eaten up before a butterfly could even find it! I'm wondering if the milkweed beetle eggs were in the dirt surrounding the plant when I bought it--otherwise, how could a milkweed beetle find this one tiny milkweed plant when I haven't seen any others around here?
I talked for quite a while to my friend with the dog who has cancer--she said she has scheduled the euthanasia for tomorrow, she found a place that will come to the house to do it. The steroids bought the dog a few extra weeks of quality life but my friend said the dog is starting to have periods of labored breathing and she doesn't want to risk having it get really bad and having to rush the dog in on an emergency basis. This dog was one of the ones I knew I would really miss, having to move away. One of the smartest dogs I've ever known, and so sweet--she would come and gently lay the top of her head against my leg when she wanted to be petted. I feel so bad for my friend, I know how tough this is.
Next:
Take dog out and feed her Check for mail and packages Retrieve dry laundry from basement 10 more minutes on drawer

We are continuing to eat up leftovers and things from the freezer. I think my mom decided not to get a sofa. She will have 2-3 chairs instead. she might have to put her dresser in the LR as a TV stand then my dad's dresser in the bedroom. yes the apt is that small and tight for space. But with two walls with windows, it seems much brighter and not so small.
I have the uhaul rented. Still looking for able bodies. I can help my son. We are not moving anything heavy.
Cable is taken care of. Security system has numbers changed. They are taking their phone number with them.
Slowly working through the list.....

Ohblondie, my friend who is looking at similar apartments first looked at a place that's between a studio and one-bedroom size, but when she went home and looked at her finances she figured she can't afford it. So now she's going back to look at the studio--so she will have very little room. However, she has severe mobility problems so it's probably better to have less space between areas to have to walk through. And if there are nice windows, hopefully it won't feel closed in. She, also, is trying to figure out multi-use furniture since she'll have so little space for it.
I was very happy to be able to reload my Amazon account with two of those Visa-type gift cards I had found in my sister's wallet. I don't understand these cards--the instructions said that when I make a purchase I have to make sure that the gift card amount is greater than the amount I'm spending. Well if that's the case, how do you use up the last amount on them? What is the chance that with tax, your purchase is going to be exactly $25.00, or whatever? But I was able to register them as credit cards on Amazon, then click the reload button and reload the amount of the card, and it worked! I've been trying to figure out how to use them for a while now, so that's a relief. I swear I had one or two other cards that had a few dollars left on them, but I'm not sure where I put them, I'll have to check and see if I can do the same thing with them.
Today starts the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Christmas in July! Two whole weeks of Christmas movies! I think the original Hallmark channel is having movies on some weekends around now too, I'll have to look at their schedule too.
I'm done for the day, I'm going to eat dinner now, and probably get to bed early since I've been up since 3:00am!
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow morning in the weekend thread!
Diane

everpony! sorry about your doggie friend, Diane.
I went to my purge-a-thon blog and set some goals. So I kept watching Netflix and kept working. More or less finished today's--some short, some extra. I am sassified.
