womble Wow! You've gotten a lot accomplished. Did some menu planning. Made grocery list. Placed order to pick up. Moved load of laundry to dryer & hung the hang-dry things. CD

Hello womble, long time no see! Thanks for starting the thread!
Good morning cando!
Today will be the hottest day of the week, close to 90, so I'm staying home. I do have to return the DVD to the library but I can do that up until the time they open tomorrow and it will still count as today, so I could do a dog walk tomorrow when I wake up and throw it in the slot. Or maybe I'll be one day overdue! I think that would be the first time at this library, where I used to live I would have one overdue fine, maybe every other year! When you go to the library as often as I do, it's easy to return things on time.
Besides finishing the fridge today, I need to start moving things in the basement so the handyman can reach the windows to caulk. There is one main window that has boxes piled in front of it, plus one that has an old wooden work table that I assumed was built in, but I'll have to try to move it to see. The other windows are okay, but the one with the boxes will take a while.
Otherwise, it will be PEEPing and plant care, since those are never ending!
Good wishes to everyone for a productive Tuesday.
Diane

Good Morning everyone! I started to say Good Monday Morning but realized it is Tuesday!
I am claiming amnesty from reading the weekend thread right now - and I will just post things here.
We went to two local county fairs this weekend (saturday and Monday). I was not feeling 100% so we left the saturday fair early. Bummer because this fair had the nicest bathrooms and many benches in the shade! While we ate bad fair food at all the fairs - overall we were pretty good. I am craving a nice salad though! At Monday's fair we ran into long time friends who we originally met at a local fair in the late 1960's early 1970's. Our families have stayed friends all these years, through marriages, deaths, grandchildren weddings, etc.
My total fair purchases included a tie dye tshirt and a cotton hat to wear outside when in the yard. As far as freebie give aways I did grab a couple of reusable grocery bags, two really nice water bottles from the army. a tape measure from the army and a pair of wireless earbuds from the Army national guard. I also grabbed some coloring books, rulers, pencils crayons for the two kids who live in our rental apartment.
I did manage to get a bag of clothing dropped off at the city mission. A friend who runs a tae kwon do center is having a yard sale to raise money for some kid who want to go compete next year in vegas at Nationals. so I have started a big box of stuff for her to have at her sale.
Now I have to be on the hunt for boxes at work. I have some squirreled away under my desk....
OK - back to work -

womble I'd never heard of the dishwasher tablet trick before. Glad to know. I'm wondering if you always have the washer lid/door closed when not in use. When I first got a front-loading washer, I'd heard warnings of mildew collecting in the gaskets, so I started a practice of always leaving the door open for at least a few hours to dry and, as you do, from time to time I'd wipe out any accumulated lint there. The washer I use now is a top-loader, and I noticed a faint musty smell when I first got here, so I got the landlord started on leaving this one open after each session, too. If you have room to do it, you could consider leaving it open for the sake of prevention or delay.

This is a new challenge. Weekend was good- gorgeous fall weather. Hosted a nice get together on Sunday. On Monday, we drove to a little town about 40 minutes away to check some stuff out and had lunch at a little local dive (in a good way!) along the water with DD. Hi Ohblondie, scholar, goldenthreads and Diane x
It does seem ages since I was here Diane, Grandson is now 1 so started having him for my Daughter to work, but I have 2 work shifts left and then 9 weeks off so I plan to work on the house during that time and thought I'd better start some accountability and organisation Hope it's cool in the basement to work on those boxes xx
I think it's the model of my machine Goldenthreads as do leave the door open, but have constant problems with it. The dishwasher tablets did loosen a lot of muck in the seals and then put it through another boil wash with white vinegar and soda crystals and it's smelling good x Hope you are feeling better and have a good workday Ohblondie x
We have liquid dishwasher cleaners Scholar, I do forget to do it regularly though, good reminder to that tomorrow. Hope you have a good day x

Morning everyone!
I puttered around a bit yesterday and got some stuff done but not a ton. I'm headed to work for the day. Because of events after work this week I'll be out of the house for about 12 hours the next three days.
For those who asked about my dishwasher, it been passed down from tenant to tenant and isn't technical included in the apartment so my landlord won't fix or buy a new one. I'll either have to fix or find a way to get rid of it.
To Do: Pay electric and gas bill Send email for S

Good morning bree, womble and shells!
Womble, does your daughter work full or part time? If you have a 1-year old 8 or 9 hours a day, that is a full-time job right there!
Bree, I feel for you, and send you energy to be working at the office and continuing to take care of everyone at home. Hopefully it'll get easier as the days go by. And just think, maybe chaos will quit and go work somewhere else--maybe a headhunter will steal her away because of her stellar management and organization skills!
