Good morning! Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
Today will be the last day over 40 for a while, they revised the forecast, earlier in the week they said today would be 58 but now they're saying 48. It was drizzling a little when I took the dog out.
I've been focusing on child-height tidying.
I've always known people who did dog-height tidying, depending on the height of their dog. And with cats, all bets are off even though they are only 9 inches tall!

The radar shows that the drizzle is ending, the first thing I'm going to do is to go out to the porch with gloves and paper towels and wipe down all the railings and surfaces that get really dirty from the birds.

Great idea Diane!
Done: From last night: Achieved coffee table zero Laundry from machine to dryer
Today: Spent half an hour in the master bathroom going through my little set of storage trays Filled a small trash bag with trash and brought it downstairs Gave some foot/body lotion to the boyfriend (he has awful trouble with dry skin on his legs so uses lotion far more than me - if I ever use it, I just steal his rather than going and looking for my own!) Added seven sealed things to a donate pile Finally paired up the soap dish I bought specifically for my favourite fancy luxury soap with said soap and put it on the bath. The soap was a Christmas present....last Christmas! Annoyingly, I had a bag of new toiletries to donate to a women's shelter that I was going to add these to, and I seem to have tidied it away somewhere. Argh!
I wanted to post and ask for some advice - Does anyone else really struggle with toiletries? I feel they're similar to clothes in a way, but somehow worse because you can't be too big or small for toiletries! They're very aspirational in a way, of buying for a "You" that doesn't really exist, but if you were the sort of person who used all of these toiletries, your life would somehow be better. They're really frustrating to me, now that I am able to see my purchasing history and hording behaviour a bit more clearly.
One thing to keep me moving on toiletries is that I did well on my no buy challenges. I actually caved and had moisturiser in with my groceries delivery on the 30th as I really disliked using the one bottle I had left (a second, sealed version of which is in the donate pile mentioned above), but I didn't use it until after midnight, so it wasn't used until 2023! I think I also just need to keep repeating to myself that the money on them is spent and holding on to old toiletries that I don't see myself using any time soon is not going to bring that money back.
To do: Another stretch in the master bathroom Find a bag to transport laundry upstairs Achieve dining table zero Achieve coffee table zero

Good morning everypony! thanks lennon!
I can relate to the toiletries dilemma, reve. I don't have much experience except doing the MariKondo method. maybe start a challenge? That is so true about the 9" mischief makers, Diane! I am quite relieved my short friend won't be coming until the weekend.
I have been working on prepping for my financial planning appt on Thursday first thing in the morning--second day in a row, yay me! But gosh, I am easily triggered into overwhelm. Auditing my spreadsheet is wearing out my brain.
I got up early because it's not raining today and I want to take advantage of this. but I need some more sleep. I keep checking the weather app in disbelief. time to build the Ark!
DONE: weighed in
made coffee took meds--missed two days, no wonder I'm feeling blue updated log worked on spreadsheet
checked online balance checked email checked calendar checked notifications

Morning Everyone! Thanks lennon for starting off the work week! I am back to work today though I am able to work from home this week. I am on lunch break. I wish we had a Chinese food drive in. One of my friends where she leaves (far away unfortunately) has a wonderful Chinese drive through place. I would eat there daily if I lived close. All we have around me is Burger King and McDonalds and a wrap place. BK and MickyDs are hard for gluten free (except for McDs in the morning). I finished all the items off I needed to get done before start of work for this week. Now I need to get my work plan in place and get started on my 2023 items. Well I had best get back to work though all i had for lunch was annie gluten free bunny graham crisps.

Good morning everyone! 4 more minutes of the morning here.
scan went well
Excellent news PS!
Reve, it's better to donate the toiletries you won't use before they go bad--and they do go bad in time, at least, odor-wise. And probably effectiveness-wise too. I don't have a problem buying too many toiletries because I am SUPER picky about fragrances, so when I find one thing I like I buy several of the same thing and I never get tired of it. I'm not one to buy a variety to try out. I dislike all floral smells and baby powder smells too, so that means many products marketed to women don't work for me--even when there's a scent that sounds like I'd like it, there's often a floral undertone that I can't stand. I like "green" and citrus smells, and they are surprisingly hard to find in products that don't add floral also. So I end up using men's products sometimes, I don't like all of the scents but I'm more likely to find one I like--then that's all I buy, until they discontinue or change it, then I have to find another.
Even hand soap can be a problem although I've found a few that I like. the last time I went to the doctor's office I washed my hands before coming home and didn't realize until I squirted the soap all over my hands that it smelled like roses, I couldn't wait until I could come home and scrub my hands clean of that smell! I know, I'm weird.
And as far as using precipitation to soften dirt, it's the only way I can clean the porches--I have spray cleaner and I even have "poop-off" which is meant for bird cage cleaning, but to spray and wait for things to soften and then repeat, etc. takes forever. I just have to remember to do the cleaning after rain or melted snow.
Now I have another weird job to do, I bought a new George Foreman grill a couple of months ago so I could get the kind with removable plates for easier cleaning. Well, I always forget that new products like that often say to let them run for a while to remove the odor/oil from the factory, and I never did that. I realized that since today might be the last mild day for a while I would run a long extension cord, put the grill on the porch, and let it burn off that smell. I don't want to do it in the house because of the budgies. So I waited until the morning food was gone outside and the rain stopped, now I'm going to put the grill outside the door to run for a while. Hopefully the outside birds won't come near it since it's something new and different and scary, plus they have had their breakfast and don't usually come back until it's time for the afternoon feeding.

Hi everyone! Have not posted since Saturday peaceseeker glad your scan went well!!!! Great news. I am back at work and feeling a bit blue. Hard to come back after being out of the office since before Christmas. My calendar is stuffed w chaos meetings. Was hard to get up and come in today. And our weather is so unremittingly gloomy. Have not seen the sunshine at all for several days. I had a nice New Year’s Eve. Saw my niece who lives out of town at a small family party. I was going to then get so much done in the house and w finances but I really took it easy. Kept up w dishes, the litter, puppy walks, groceries. I indulged in reading and Netflix! Last night DD and I bought take out for dinner. Costly but a good choice. My goal today is just get through the work day. Walk puppy when I get home. Come up w a dinner for us. Update my financial stuff and pay the bills due this week. I also would love to wrap up the 2020 challenge. I have some boxes of papers to get through that I think will clinch it for me. I am deeply tired!!! Getting back in a routine takes time I guess

Good afternoon bree! I feel for you, having to go back to work after the holiday break, hopefully you'll get back into the groove. When does chaos' new boss start?
I've gotten completely distracted by watching cable news--I took the dog out again but haven't done anything else since lunch.
