mylittlescholar thanks for the advice! It is a hard no on a second dog for awhile. Fortunately we have a large fenced yard and a built in companion. So I had to tell the director about my 50k typo. But once I told her it was fixed and I explained what I did to fix it- she had a huge smile on her face because it was a non-issue by the time I talked to her. whew. It was supposed to snow this afternoon, starting at 2pm. it hasnt started yet. hopefully I can get home unscathed. ugh....a meeting beckons

Yesterday, took dog to play. After work, picked her up. Went to our house Changed into jeans & tshirt Got to work packing up contents of China cabinet shelves. Fragile items. Then, finished packing up stuff on dining room table. 1 big bag of trash ready to go. Packed up many boxes from dining room stacks around perimeter. Another big bag of trash removed from the house. And a smaller one. A big bag of recyclable paper type stuff. Still so much more to do.
Flooring of junk room/office/guest room was done. Also the rest of the hallway & half of the den.
Went to hotel at 2:30am. M
Btw, we have a hard no on a second dog for a bit, too. We want another, but timing isn’t good right now. Cd

I totally admire dog owners--its a commitment I hope to be able to make someday. got through my list--listened to beach sounds sitting in the waiting area and almost fell asleep! I am feeling blah, though. I think my mojo and I are on different cycles. I want to do stuff when I am trying to sleep. I planned to do a big toiletries organizational project next. Maybe a nap first.

Oh cando, what an ordeal your floor work is--you'll be so happy when it's over!
Good evening reve!
Scholar, dogs are a big commitment, and as much as I love them, I would not be able to make that commitment without a fenced in yard. Seeing all the people who live in apartments or condos who have to go out for a dog walk at least 3 times a day, every single day, no matter the weather or how you feel--that's a commitment! Dogs should go for walks, yards are great but they still need walks. But being able to do dog walks only part of the time, when it fits into your schedule, that's what makes it possible for me to have the dog now.
I had my long talk with my shopping friend, then I took the dog out, it is still drizzling. Now I'm having dinner.

I did PEEPing tonight, I'm trying very hard to not let things get really messy again.
There was a little bit of harder rain during the last few hours but I checked the basement recently and it doesn't look like any water came in. It will continue to rain overnight but it looks like drizzle from the radar picture.
The earlier forecast said it might be icy tomorrow morning, I don't know if that's still true but I think I'll wait until Friday morning to go to the bank and the library, it'll be clear by then.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Good morning!
Well, the storm turned out to be mainly day-long drizzle by me, as of last night the basement was dry, I didn't check it this morning but when the dog wanted to go out at midnight last night it was not raining, so I think everything should be okay. It's still chilly and damp outside, and there will be strong winds today.
I'm starting out the day feeling tired, but I'll try to get things done after breakfast.

well the storm hit us hard. it took dh 45 mins to get to work - it is usually a 20-25 minute drive, he passed three accidents on the way. i think it is mostly the ice......
i will venture out shortly. i can hear a snow blower outside somewhere in the neighborhood.....

hello thanks for your support with my big scary project!! it was big and scary and I am so glad I am done, well with first phase but the hardest part is over.
yesterday was a long long day. I could not sleep so at about 3 am I watched the recording of a meeting that i had missed (hoping it would put me to sleep haha) and I did fall back asleep But then I was in for big scary project. I had sent Chaos information and a meeting request. She declined meeting and did not read the information! I then said we had to meet --- so we did and she was annoyed with me instead of supportive that I was doing a really big hard and critical task for us. I don't have a good analogy but I needed hard information from Chaos, the details not just her usual pie in the sky talk. It was kind of like if someone said they would give you a ton of money to go on a vacation (bad analogy as this project is not vacation like at all!) and they kept telling you they had the cash and you are like ok time to make the reservations and pay and they are like what? and have to be so pushed to focus and give the information you need but are annoyed! ugh
and the technical expert I was working with was valuable as they had important knowledge but were so rude that I don't want to work with them again. this work process had changed and they were griping so much and complaining so much and I was like right it changed for everyone. just do it! this person loves to discover mistakes other people do and will go back to them and tell them the mistake they made. I had some tiny satisfaction to see them make some mistakes !!
anyway I had to work a couple hours late but I did the heavy lift! came home so tired! the storm had arrived and the roads were scary went to mass for Ash Weds took puppy for a walk, she was besides herself with joy at walking in an ice storm! me less so! my hair actually froze!! came home, cleaned litter took out trash and recycling to curb was so wet, cold, tired - it was about 10 pm at that point so I went to bed with dishes in the sink!
today I am working from home, so glad, as I am physically not up to doing anything. I guess now as I am older two very intense days of working late takes more of a toll.
I am trying to focus. my car is still covered totally in ice. I was glad to be home with a cup of coffee as I heard my neighbors scraping their cars!
I am not sure I will go anywhere today by car. maybe to park with puppy for her walk and I will go in the daylight, I would not want to take her for a walk in the dark with all this ice.
in addition to working, I need to catch up on my finances and pay some bills.
regarding a second dog oh my. Puppy would LOVE to have a companion. But I don't think I could ever handle two dogs, it is very hard to be the single mom to this one puppy, and I was a single mom to a human and I think dogs are harder! puppy is a sweetheart and I love her but she is so much work, takes away any spontaneity in life, and is expensive! I am sure it would be easier with another person, it was easier when DD was home. now I am dashing home on lunch (even on crazy yesterday) to let her out to go potty I also actually took a sample to the vet yesterday as she had diarrhea (outside!) but thankfully all was well. I have a fenced yard and I cannot image how hard it would be without that fence. I also walk her everyday regardless of the weather as she is a bigger, high energy love bug I love puppy but I think dog mamahood is HARD!!!

Good morning bree, I'm glad you're home safe today on an icy day, and that you managed to get your project started even with little help from chaos. Yes, dog care is often hard, harder than cat care, plus they are less independent than cats and demand so much attention. It's a good thing they are so wonderful so they are worth the extra work, even so, lots of people give up on them. And speaking of dog care, my next job is to take the dog out!
Next:
Take dog out and feed her 10 minutes on first floor Check for mail and packages Water LR and front porch plants
