Friday!!!! Happy dance! ohblondie you have an excellent plan for the weekend! Diane wonder what is up with your pup? Could you adjust feeding schedule? Hi peaceseeker you keep chipping away! A very cold icy day here. Even colder than the ice storm days. I am so happily working at home. I have my big fluffy robe on over my sweats because it is cold w my low heat. I was disappointed because I missed the time to call in my meter reading by one day!! and they wouldn’t take it late. I’ve been keeping the heat low to see if it makes a significant difference in my budgeting. Now I will have to just get their estimate do my experiment continues for one more month! So far today I put the clean dishes away fed the animals took one happy joyful dog to daycare and then I buckled down and did some work- I have three things I want to accomplish today -one is done! one is probably as far as I can get it today and the other awaits me I have a groomer coming over this afternoon to trim girl cats nails, so I want to pick up the house a little bit and I also want to pay some bills and ar lunch run an errand to the bank -so that’s my next plan of attack

Good morning bree! I already feed the dog less with her night time meal just so that she won't have to go out, plus, I'm feeding her exactly the same as I have been. I'm glad she's going in to see the doctor in a week or two, I'll feel better when she has a good exam.
TO DO:
Take dog out and feed her Start load of laundry 10 minutes on first floor Put last of groceries away

1) draw up lease (tenants want to move in this weekend) hurray DONE - 2) email paperwork to financial advisor 3) Create 257 letters to be mailed out to clients (template is in the system - I just pull up each letter - add a comment to the box, then save the electronic copy. Busy work DONE - 4) Drive to apartment over lunch and get cleaning supplies I left behind 5) Make arrangements to get keys to tenant, pick up check and sign the leases (that might be after work or later in the am on saturday) 6) Pick up fish dinners from church (get cash from ATM to pay for them)
Tomorrow 1) Get mother to bank early AM (try to close out two accounts and deposit her check) 2) get to another branch to close safety deposit box (this is a horrible bank/branch) 3) meet tenants to do lease/check/keys 4) deposit said check (different bank from the early am bank with my mom)
Emailed tenant about what day she wants to move in. Havent heard back from her yet. Thats a good thing - it means she is working and not living on her phone!
I havent started on the letters yet.....Our fiscal office is not releasing the payments because the sum total of these payments is off by 1.27. there are 127 payments off by a penny. It is because the payments are split into two funding categories and if a payment is an odd number, well you cant split a penny in half (as far as our book keeping) This is why I am a social worker and not an accountant.
OK - I had better get working
It is on the windy side here and it is a cold wind. I have create a nice little cocoon in my bed - I cannot wait to get home and crawl in!

Scholar, I hope you're making progress!
I gave up on trying to be productive and got into bed for a long reading break. I finished the last horror novel I started--it did get a bit silly toward the end, but it was worth reading, very creepy. Today I picked up another new horror novel, so I started it and so far I like it a lot. I prefer to read horror or really creepy thrillers during the daytime, and less creepy books before bedtime.
After my reading break I got up and took the dog out and retrieved the dry laundry from the basement.
I need to call my decluttering client next.

I complain so much about things here that now I have to report something good!
In the past I have tried to use water filter pitchers and could not, the water either tasted horrible to me or had black bits floating in it that are harmless but made me not want to drink it. I had researched Zero Water last year, but there were comments in the reviews that said the water didn't always taste good. A couple of weeks ago I decided to research it again, and even though there were still people saying there was an aftertaste, I decided to buy a pitcher. I figured that if I didn't like the taste, at least I would be able to give the animals filtered water.
Well, there IS an aftertaste--but it's not a horrible one. It kind of tastes like when water is frozen and then melts, sometimes there's an aftertaste, I don't know if it's from the freezer or something else. It's not a gross, musty taste which is what tap water tastes like to me. I tried drinking the water with a meal, and since I'm eating something with flavor, I do not taste the aftertaste with a meal. In fact, in my evening meal which is usually some kind of beans and veggies, I typically put some cumin in it, and then I don't taste the aftertaste for the rest of the evening.
So, for the last several days I have been drinking filtered water at least half of the time. This means I only have to carry half as much water home! I will also save a little bit of money, not a lot, since the filters are expensive and with the water we have here it's estimated that I have to change the filter every 25 gallons--and since the aftertaste supposedly grows stronger as the filter fills up, it might be more often than that. But, for basically the same or a little less money I will be able to go to the store half as many times.
It's more work here, since I am filling up bottles with the filtered water so I can carry them around without spilling, plus I have a feeling that in winter I'll have to work harder at having some of the water I drink be partially frozen since in the heat I might taste the aftertaste more. But honestly, I'm very happy about this!

such a cold Friday night here! mylittlescholar around here the police stations take old or unused prescriptions and there is also a big county recycling place that takes everything, all the stuff the regular trash people won't take. maybe your county has such a place Diane I never read creepy or horror novels! even some of the terrestrial murder mysteries are too grisly for me! so my day was good overall. I managed to get some work work done. I have been stalled by a huge project that took up all my time, the recent Big Scary Project, and DD getting sick so I was unexpectedly out of the office - these things took up mega time, then just regular work. So I made some progress on projects that I have been ignoring or delaying that are starting to cause me stress. So I am glad for that. I had a productive lunch break: dropped off important bill went to post office to mail less important bill returned bottles picked up puppy meds for fleas/ticks/heartworm at vets went to grocery store for quick stop to avert pending emergency -- wet cat food supply was out went to ATM to get cash to pay cat groomer then I had to pick up my house a bit -- cleaned bathroom a bit in case groomer asked to use it, did a stash and dash on dining room table. I hate doing them! but I had so many papers strewn about from bill paying, work at home, mail -- I just stuffed them all in a shopping bag, so I have that sorting chore ahead. groomer came and trimmed girlcat's nails. Girlcat screamed in protest. heart breaking but it only took a few minutes and she had treats. She is too old now to manage her own nails. I am so blessed to have found a groomer who will come once a month who is affordable and seems very kind. then I plugged away at a painstaking project that I don't like to do at all, and I have let it get behind but I need to get it done as it will give me important information. once quitting time came, I quit! watched some netflix then picked up puppy who is napping at my feet. first before picking up puppy I did the litter. it is just so cold out that I did not want to leave it looming ahead. so now I am home in my big warm robe and I have plans to just watch videos or read When I went to pick up puppy, I saw that one of my neighbors had major tree damage from the storm, with a huge old tree down in the front yard. feel bad as they lost their other big beautiful tree about a year ago in a storm and now their front yard is pretty barren after having these majestic trees. hope you all have a nice end to the work week!

[Well I managed to get my list done except fpr the letters. I had to deal with a couple of customer issues and that accounting nightmare over a penny....I do understand audits and getting accounts to balance to a penny but there has to be a happy medium.
When I picked up the fish meals I grabbed red velvet cake for my parents and I dropped it off at their apartment. I also dropped off some sneakers from my aunt for my mom to try on. It is always good to have a spare pairs.
I also have enough leftovers to get through the weekend.
DH and I just did a quick tidy of the kitchen. Now the dishwasher is running and I xan go to bed.

Hello reve!
Ohblondie, I'm glad you got tenants so quickly, sometimes that drags on for a long time.
pending emergency -- wet cat food supply was out
You are so right, that would be an emergency!
Bree, I don't read a lot of horror, mostly because a lot of it has strong supernatural elements that go too far and just seem silly to me--I guess I don't have the imagination that I did when I was younger, when I liked to read about monsters or ghosts or whatever. It's hard to explain my exact feeling about it, but horror novels that I like are ones where you are not sure if what is happening in the book is supernatural or not, at least not until near the end--and then the supernatural elements should be close to reality, more believable, which I know doesn't exactly make sense. The book I finished did have obvious supernatural elements but I still liked it, they came in closer to the end of the book, and although not exactly believable they were acceptable. Plus, the book was really well written and as I said, gave me a creepy feeling all along which is what a horror book is supposed to do. It was All Hallows, by Christopher Golden.
Bree, I'm glad it's Friday night and you can relax and forget about work for a while! What kind of things do you watch on Netflix?
I guess today isn't going to be very productive, I don't feel great today--my side is bothering me lately, which means I really do need to figure out what additional tests I need. I'm also feeling wheezy every morning and then I feel pressure where my lungs are, and since I have the stomach problems I don't know if its my lungs feeling that way or my stomach. And my hips are still bothering me...I'm a wreck!
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekend thread!
Diane
