TML I think you are such an amazing, strong person. Thanks for explaining the situation & sounds like you have come such a long way!!! Anything you do or get done is HUGE after all you’ve been thru! All, I’m telling you that what DH & I are going thru getting the new flooring is only so bad due to not keeping our home decluttered. It has been physically taxing, especially because of aging, weight, & not staying fit. Even closet floors have to be completely clear. We still have a lot to go and may have to pay for extra days to flooring contractor if the rooms as we go are not cleared & they can’t do their job. It is the situation we have found ourselves in. It’s embarrassing, etc Yesterday, we finished DS’s old room’s closet floor. Then, spent the rest of the day until 11:30pm on the Office/guest room/junk room. Still did not finish it & they will be doing that room today! DH will probably get it finished while they are working on DS’s old room. They are doing his old room, the office/junk room & hallway today. Cd

Good morning all! Thanks for starting the thread, lennon!
TML, I read your post in the last thread, I remember you talking about how your mom was when she lived with you, and I remember your description of your accident--I didn't realize how much of her behavior continued after being in the nursing home. When I said I hoped the home could deal with her, I didn't envision her going back to live with you, but I know facilities do call families and say they can no longer handle a particular person if they're particularly disruptive. Then the person has to scramble around to find another facility and if the person is belligerent it's hard to find someone who will accept them. Hopefully she treats the staff better than she treats you, which is a terrible thing to say but you know what I mean! Having siblings does not always (or maybe not even usually) mean that the care of elderly parents is shared equally. So you're right, if it turned out you had selfish siblings it would not make your situation better. You deserve an award for "keeping sane while dealing with your mom."
Cando, I didn't realize that you're moving stuff around while the work is going on, that has to be stressful. You're right, our clutter makes life hard in so many ways.
So last night the dog wanted to go out again, that makes 3 out of the last 4 nights. We went out at 12:30 and I finally fell asleep around 3. So I slept a little later in the morning, and decided to shop tomorrow instead of today. I have to go tomorrow so I hope tonight is a good night.

Happy Monday! cando I cannot imagine the work involved!!! Hope everyone has a good week I was so nice to wake up to my clean vacd and dusted downstairs today This morning I fed the animals, showered, put away dishes snd did the stragglers I left in the sink. Packed my bags and now at work. Great commute in because all the schools are in break. So many people at work are off. I love it! I am seriously behind in work and life I need to makes lists for both. I am heading to deer-in-headlights mode!

TML, sorry to hear about the way your mother is. My mother is also a narcissist and its very difficult but she settled into her nursing home well thank goodness. They don't hand her a phone and she doesn't bother my sister too much. They can try and take over your life if you allow it. Be strong!
I am out for the afternoon they are calling for 58 degrees here, but with the wind it doesn't feel that warm to me.
Happy with yesterdays work around here, its not looking too bad at all I did use a cleaner to wipe out the shelves in the fridge as its nearly empty. But thats my only claim to fame so far today.

I'm stopping for lunch. I see there is storm moving across the country starting today, it looks like we might get a little snow but more likely, a mix or just rain--on Wednesday and Thursday.
