Diane, I think you would very much enjoy those books. I can't remember if I've read any others that he has written. The two I mentioned I know will be permanent keepers. That's why I bought one for each of my grandchildren. I'm hoping they will find them to be as beautiful as I did and something to reread (which I rarely do with anything else).
I LOVE hearing you describe the sleeping bees!!
oust and mylittlescholar yes, not being able to sleep is so awful and the aftereffects mess up everything. I dread the early, early sunsets here in the winter ~ makes me ready for bed at 5:00 p.m. Sleep would come easily then but so would the next wake period which would be about midnight.
I have been doing tiny bits in the kitchen putting away or setting aside for donation things that aren't really needed. A few boxes in the garage will be full enough to deliver next week. Cleaned the microwave again. We have a dome thing to cover the food and prevent too much splattering and that gets cleaned after each use. But sometimes it is easier to nuke the food and let the splatters fly where they may.

The dog wanted to go out, this is third time today already, that's unusual. In the shade it's almost pleasant right now.
Scholar, I had not seen the snoring hummingbird but I looked it up--adorable! Thanks for mentioning it.
I spent about 20 minutes on my card/office supply reorganization. I'm still deciding if I want to move some things around in that room.
It's almost time for dinner but I'll do some PEEPing first so I can leave things uncluttered when I go to bed tonight.

A good WWII book that I liked was We Were the Lucky Ones.
I finished up the workday in a generally productive fashion; so glad I delegated parts of the pesky project to the people who know best so I can focus on my part
I did sweep, vacuum and mop the kitchen floor
Took out trash and recycling
Started my 20 piece thing
Picked up puppy from daycare
Cooked dinner and ate

oust that is exactly what I am saying, move just a tiny bit, move just a tiny bit more...
bree I have read that book also, very good! I am always so impressed by the bravery of people during WWII! Where did their strength come from? I would be such a coward.
DD1 had a milky blue soap dish in her bathroom, a cheap little plastic thing we got at K-Mart many years ago. It was heavily crusted with old soap residue. I was scraping out the gunk with a plastic knife and then washing it under hot water. She came in the kitchen and said, "I know you love doing that kind of cleaning, you are so OCD about that kind of stuff." haha she is totally right, I absolutely love detailing something! Best part is it looks brand new again.
Part of me wants to keep baby stepping it, part of me wants to pack it in for the night with some cheesy bread and maybe Law and Order or Dr. Pol reruns. Orioles baseball which is DD1's nightly thing is late for us tonight because they are playing on the west coast. So I get the tv until about 9:40 p.m. Well, we share it but I pretty much get to choose until they are ready to announce the starting line-up.

hey everypony!
so I discovered that water had gotten into the legs of one of the tables, so I took it apart and am letting them dry. the other one is set up with a plastic tablecloth.
I also had a long, difficult convo with LR. her trauma symptoms have been a bit of a challenge lately. but we got through it. she is leaving the country for a month next week.
oh... speaking of hummingbirds, there is a tiny--oops, she is gone!
I think I am going to do some napitating.

Evening all! New bathroom has been delayed. Very frustrating as they have delivered almost all of the new fixtures so that room is now unusable, but is likely to be out of commission for the next three weeks.
Done: Load of laundry Laundry from machine to dryer Replaced hallway air freshener Handled mail Achieved coffee table zero
Looked into ordering new bookcases but the ones I want are out of stock.
I'm starting to apply some of my organisation at work too. I reorganised the drawer unit I have by my desk, labelled all the drawers and cleaned my desk. I'm aiming to go for desk zero in the same way I aim for coffee table/dining table zero
To do this weekend: Get cardboard recycling organised Bag up kitchen and living room trash Another load of laundry Bag up clean laundry and take upstairs Ideally, tidy spare bedroom - annoyingly there are several things there for mum but I'm not likely to see her for a few weeks

Scholar I saw a hummingbird today too! The dog walked right nearby so it wasn't there long.
Cheesy bread, yum! Not sure exactly what you're talking about but it sounds really good.
Bree, I have that book! Somewhere, in one of my many boxes. Haven't read it yet.
Upstairs is decluttered, I'm pretty sure the downstairs looks okay but I will check when I go down. The dog wasn't out that long ago so I don't think I can take her out at 8, I might just read for a while and see if she wants to go out later. It seems like if she's not quite ready at 8, when I make her go out anyway, even if she has a BM she'll need another one a few hours later, so I guess there's no point in going out at 8. I really do want her to go out only when she wants to go.
The complication is the neighbor next door--he knows I go out at 8 and he makes sure he doesn't have his dogs out at that time. Now she's not on any schedule and when I go out at any random time after 8 his dogs are sometimes out, he doesn't seem to have any kind of schedule for his.
But, I'll figure it out. Good night everyone, see you tomorrow in the weekend thread!

I got up and found something to make for dinner after taking all the food out. Y'all have inspired me to shop our cupboard!
DVD was priming the ceiling, so I was glad I could feed him. He is wore out.
I am pretty wore out too. Been overdoing it a mite. But I want to do a bit more. to wit:
remove two shelves clean them vacuum out cabinet adjust the height and put them back then fill them up
this will make some space on the sorting table to take some other things down
