Good morning everyone! Well, last night was much better. The dog did have a panting session before bedtime but it wasn't as long, and then she slept until about 1:00. Then she woke up and starting grooming her front paws. Usually that means she's starting another anxiety session because then she starts licking the sheet around her paws, and then she starts panting. So I woke up completely while this was happening, thinking soon I'd have to take her out. Miraculously, she stopped grooming and fell back to sleep. I, on the other hand, took one and a half hours to fall back. Then I woke up at 3, 4 and 5, but managed to sleep through the 6:00 alarm while turning it off with no memory of doing so, which I really hate. I woke up at 7 and the dog was still sleeping, but when I made her stand up to evaluate her legs, she moved to get off the bed and go out. Her legs were actually a little better than yesterday, which was a big relief. We came back inside, she ate breakfast and went back to sleep on the bed. So, things so far today are okay.

Today is the day to put garbage cans out, and the yard waste can was empty. I know the last pickup is some time in November, but I can't remember if it's early or late November and I can't seem to find it on the village website. So I started cutting down the polkweed plants at the side of the house. I spent about an hour cutting enough down to fill the can entirely, and I think I only did 1/3 of the job. It would have taken less time but I was trying to leave the branches that still had good berries on them for the birds, the rest have empty branches where the birds ate them, or shriveled up berries. The polkweed stems are huge and hollow, so I leave them in case someone wants to lay eggs in them. I don't know if they do or not, the stems might be too large, but I leave them just in case.
I put the can out already even though it's early, I'm debating whether or not to put the recycling can out--it still has a little room in it.

Diane--I just emptied my recycling , but it gets collected on Monday, not the same day as the trash. I also took out the trash and wheeled it to the curb. Looks like we could have rain later, and I wanted to get it out there in case we do get rain. I'm glad your dog seems pretty good today.
I have put away my big Walmart delivery and done the cat pans and other dailies. Trying to decide whether to do some batch cooking.
My best to all. catcats

Good afternoon catcats!
Now I'm dealing with computer stuff--lovely Microsoft forced a Windows11 download that I don't want. Apparently there are ways around it but I'm not willing to figure them out so the next time I restart I will get Windows11 installed, so now I'm trying to make sure things are backed up and of course, I'm having problems.
Some things are backing up but very slowly, so I'm going to try to work on the kitchen downstairs, to deal the last of the annoying things I don't know what to do with.

Wow, it's slow here today! I've been trying to finish backing things up and because of that everything else is super slow so I haven't come on here.
I'm going to have to leave my computer on overnight in hopes that it will not install Windows11 until I'm finished with everything, but who knows, evil Microsoft might force it again.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning--hopefully!
Diane
Oh, and the dog is still okay!

Diane, I hope that your dog is sleeping peacefully through the night and you are too!
I have not posted since Sunday. My Sunday is pretty much taken up with church, the game, getting to the grocery store and walking the dog.
I can’t believe it’s already Tuesday- yesterday I worked, walked The dog and went to my nephews football game.
today I worked, did the dishes, cleaned the litter, paid a bill. Set the timer for 30 minutes for a pick up put away. Shredded and recycled
I had to work a little bit late so I walked puppy when it was getting quite dark. There’s so many deer around that I have to be on the alert because we will be walking long and suddenly will be right near Deer and puppy is so enchanted and wild.
today I walked along and ahead of us were three deer, with two lying down, and one just looking at us. Yesterday we came upon a herd of Maybe 6.
Gnite all

Just a quick note to say that I did do the batch cooking, a full size casserole that has chicken and soups and chow mein noodles in it. It was a recipe I saw on FB. I also added broccoli and cheese.
I will get a number of meals from it, and some , therefore, will be frozen. I cleaned it all up and the DW is running.
Best wishes for all.

I do like a good batch cooking session! This is a rare vacation that I haven't made big batches of chilli, curry, bolognese, etc.!
Done: Load of laundry Laundry from machine to dryer Clean laundry taken upstairs Dishwasher emptied New multi hangers unpacked and assembled Hanging wardrobe rearranged onto new hangers Collected all of my makeup that I could find and arranged it into drawer organisers for now Rearranged all of my toiletries with a view to removing my old bathroom storage unit to create more space Rearranged hallway bookcase so that toiletries all fitted in matching baskets into the bookcase Threw out several items - old chargers, expired or unwanted toiletries Created a plan for the new storage unit in the spare room to house all of my seasonal things so everything has a place that is neat, organised and out of the way PEEPed a basket downstairs PEEPed a pile of miscellany upstairs
The organising crusade is going well. I'm very much enjoying seeing a pile of things and knowing exactly where it all should be put away!

Good morning! The dog had to go out at midnight but the rest of the night wasn't bad and her legs are holding up okay, at least so far--I haven't made her get up yet this morning since she was out so late.
Still backing things up so I'm limiting my computer use.

Working from home today with the afternoon off for my mammogram Attacked some piles in the LR - washing a comforter, gathered christmas gifts into two boxes trying to get items put away I am not sure if I mentioned this but I got an over the door cloth shoe holder and I am putting my refillable water bottles and coffee mugs in it. It is wonderful except my Aldi mugs that look like the expensive stanley mugs dont fit! So I need to re-look at the cupboard over the sink - or make a small hole in the holder to allow the handle to fit in
Our garbage pickup day got moved to Friday, no big deal. I think our garbage company got sold to another company then bought out by another company....
OK - time to eat before my appointment
ETA: the other night my phone rang. It was after 10pm and it was the rehab where my dad is. My heart literally stopped as I was afraid it was "that call". It was the nurse calling me to tell me they found a bed sore on his bottom and they would be giving him ad air mattress and rolling him and getting him up more during the day. Ugh - this could not have waited until the following morning?
