Well, so far so good, although I'm going to be nervous about turning my computer off and then on again. When I tried to sign in after the install, the screen darkened and the circle went around and around for 3-4 minutes. I was convinced that it would never open up but finally it did--I don't know if something is wrong or if it was a first time thing.
I also went downstairs a little while ago to let the dog out and she couldn't make her back legs work again. It honestly seems more like a neurological thing than pain, she doesn't act like it hurts, just like they're weak. It took her longer to be able to walk although once we got outside she was able to get around.
I'm also worried about shopping, I'm thinking that when I go I'm going to have to close her in the dining room with her dog bed on the floor so I'm not worrying about her trying to get on or off the bed and falling.
My nerves are shot today, too many worries.

I'm thinking of just leaving my computer on tonight so that I can check weather and such in the morning, if the dog situation is right and the weather is right I will try the shopping trip, otherwise I'll wait. Then I can try restarting it in the afternoon and see if there's a problem.
I did nothing much today, just felt on edge all day. The previous two days I was obsessively watching the computer progress but tried to do things in between. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Diane, I am feeling like I think you are feeling. Just all-around anxiety and worry. I know a lot of it with me is worry and fear about the world's many problems. But there are also financial worries and some personal ones and cat related ones. I am trying to hang in there. BUT when I scream at the TV screen at a troublemaker, I know that I am ON EDGE. Diane, I hope your dear dog is OK and not too weak.
I did get the dailies done today and started a laundry. Not much else although I did make 4 business calls. Hopefully, tomorrow might be better.
My best to all. Prayers too. catcats

One bit of exciting good news to share. Some of you may remember The Bathroom Saga. In short, had arranged a bathroom design, supply and install with a big company. They had not delivered all of the parts but the installer had taken my old bathroom out. They said it would be another month before they could install the new one with the correct parts. The last working day before they were to start my bathroom, the delivery of parts didn't happen, and that evening the company went bust. I loathe making phone calls and having to talk to strangers and ask for things, but I powered through, and I now have a new bathroom and I just got word this evening that the finance people that I was to pay through are satisfied that I did not get what I paid for and are cancelling the credit agreement at no charge to me and say I can keep all the things that were delivered at no charge. The original installer agreed to do it for not much more than half what the firm were charging, I just had to buy some parts myself. In the end, rather than the 7k the firm would have charged me, I managed it for about 3.5k. It's been a lot of hassle, but now I have a nice new bathroom and more money than I expected to have! Of course, I need to make sure I keep it clean and organised, but that is a worry for another day!
Done: Wrote follow up emails Achieve dining table zero Take baskets upstairs PEEPed four baskets Assembled a new donations box Made progress on clearing spare bed - once I get rid of the stuff I'm setting out there to pack for my trip this weekend, I think one good hour of work will have it clear and squared away
Tomorrow: Strip bedding master bedroom Strip bedding spare room Clear air dryer Fold and bag laundry Load of laundry- bedding Laundry from machine to dryer Pack for trip

Great news Reve!! I left work early for a meeting which meant I was home from work early Someone had tossed my dad's clothes in the dryer for me (was it me?) I puttered a bit and took out the trash then I went to visit my dad He eats if I am there to feed him and I was able to put away his clean clothes I stayed for a bit and the speech therapist came and hung out for a bit I went home and tried to focus on the kitchen. I picked up some trash and tossed it. We had a party in the spring and I had used safety orange tablecloths. Two were on a table that never got used so I saved them to use at Halloween. Well we are not going to have a Halloween party. I got them at the dollar store. So I picked them up and tossed them in the trash. I threw out $2.50 worth of tablecloths. I am sure I have wasted more than that in the food that I tossed earlier. I have another trash bag full, but I am sitting here realizing that I never took it out. I have been asking DH for months to check the Keurig and see if it works. I picked it up and put it in the donate/toss box. We have a replacement unit but I am much happier with the coffee brewed in the pot so we are doing that for now. DH ate the leftovers so that was a win. Tonight I guess I will have to attack the dishes. And clear the other end of the counter. I would love to get my wax melter thing back out. I have a pumpkin somewhere in this house...I think I out it away for easter... OK time to focus on work - have a great day everyone

Diane I hope your computer behaves itself! Also that your sweet pup has a good day and you too. catcats I am sorry you are having anxiety. so much is going on and I feel anxious too. but we are in good hands overall! cando would caffeine help your headaches? reve so glad it all worked out and you have a new bathroom at a lower price!! ohblondie hope you can easily get your rent money! yesterday it did not rain. first time in 14 days! today it is downcast and drizzly again. I don't really mind gloomy days but walking the puppy is easier in dryer weather. It is so damp here that I have all these weird mushrooms lurking in the corners of my yard. yesterday I had a fun lunch with an old neighbor. she is a single mom too but she is much richer than me so she moved away to a big house in wealthier suburb and she is even not working now and is ok financially. She is not retirement age yet. it was fun to see her and I hope we stay in touch. she is good people! I had leftovers from my healthiesh lunch for dinner too. I am in a grumpy work mode. there is a lot of painful work to do. like clean up. for example, one vendor mailed a messed up invoice so I have to delve into all these details. another team member agreed to some work that is not our dept work and so now I have to splain that away. we have a huge project that i am not sure how we will finish and I was the bottleneck on it! I let it slide in priority due to other pressing matters and now it is urgent and I am stressed. So! I need to be very productive today on really hard painstaking work. yesterday I worked from home, did make progress on now urgent job but just a smidge. was able to take puppy for a walk with plenty of time before sunset due to no commute home. We had a 1.5 hour walk, went to my park, did not see any deer which is a blessing even though I am always caught by their graceful movements. did the dishes, that's about it and went to bed early so far today fed animals took puppy to daycare tried to deal with work messes via some emails need to take a deep breath! some minor household goals today: put away stuff on my dining room table write and mail thankyou notes vacuum go over my finances and map out bills for this and next pay period return a library book for work goals do invoice clean up for vendor f do invoice research for vendor e work on urgent project

This has been a hard week. Some very tough things which caused tremendous stress which amped up pain like it hasn't been it quite awhile. Thankfully some very good things too, for which I am very grateful.
Like many of you, I have been feeling anxious also. Personal reasons, world-wide reasons; Right now I am listening to my September birds (blue jays) and that helps me to remember that much is right in the world and nature keeps going day by day.
reve I am very happy to hear that your bathroom construction/financial problems have resolved so well in your favor!! That is encouraging news and reinforces my feelings that things will be ok.
I hope everyone experiences more ease and progress in their lives.

reve---Oh , nice about the less expensive new bathroom ! @danny and bree and oust-yes, there is a lot of anxiety going around. It is a mental pandemic !! And masks won't help, nor vaccines, for this one ! Diane--Hope your computer and your pup do well today. ohblondie--Good that the apartment wasn't trashed. Now to get your back rent--I wish you luck. I have done some of the daily things and also have carpet swept all the rugs and flipped over the cat scratcher pads. Everyone has been fed. Whoops ! Just remembered --I have not taken my BP pills. Well, that is next up. My DGS is going to stop by on his way home from work today to reach up and get my chirping smoke detector down, let me change the batteries, and put it back up. i did the basement one last week, and amazingly, the batteries in the two self-destructed just a week apart. I just can't chance climbing a ladder to reach this one anymore. Wow, a few years ago, I would have just done it. I wish everyone a good day in which anxiety is down and productivity is up, for the win ! catcats

Good morning everyone, I will read back and see what I missed later.
I managed the walk to Walmart this morning, barely. It was slow going and the last few blocks were painful but I made it. It has been so many weeks since I did that walk, and my knee is pretty much continuously hurting the last few days, and I was nervous about leaving the dog, but I'm home now and sitting down and am not sure if I'll be able to stand back up again when it's time!
The dog had to go out at 1am which made me feel that I could get an early start and leave her until I got home. When she goes out at that time she never wants to go out again until 9 at the earliest, usually later. I realized that I had two baby gates, so I was able to confine her in the living room on the bed that she was already on with her water bowl, I put the rubber mat from the bedroom ottoman area between her bed and water bowl in case she got up and had trouble with her legs.
I needed a lot of stuff since I hadn't been shopping in a while, so I bought so much that the last stuff had to go in a shopping bag tied to the cart handle so it didn't slide off on the way home. Oh, and on the way in I sat down on the bench outside the store to rest like I usually do and didn't realize it was wet, so I had to walk around the store with damp spots on my butt...
When I got home the dog was standing up at the door to greet me, which meant she was ready to go out. I wish I could have seen her stand up, I don't know if she had trouble but by the time I came home she was walking okay, so we went outside, then I gave her her food and meds. Then I had to put away the frozen and refrigerated things, and now I'm going to sit and rest for a long time. I'm so glad to get this trip out of the way.

Good morning everypony!
Housecleaners are here. what a luxury! we are in the midst of a heat advisory. 95*F yesterday! I got to work in air conditioning; another luxury. even DM asked to turn it on.
I got her fussy project put away (organizing the toiletries of a toiletries hoarder). It is not done, but things are in containers. (thank goodness she is a containers hoarder!) They need to be labeled. She says she doesn't need or use them, but I cannot toss any. At least I got a bit of cleaning in.
I am going to go work on C's clothing today. She has more money, more space, and went from size 12 to 8 so she makes me look positively minimalist! She is willing to toss thank goodness. I'm hoping she has time to help me. I think I'll bring a third rack, just in case.
I am not planning on spending the night, so less time packing but more time commuting. I am going to bring a swimming suit in case we can go in her mini pool.
DONE: got dressed mini PUPA am caffeinating started packing
NEXT UP: online check in put stuff away into the attic bring down hangers
finish packing load car
eat protein
take meds
LIST: hangers rack
suit towel vacuum cleaner bins

plugging away at my work need to go to store soon for lunch break, and a few errands
Chaos set up another "in person only" meeting on my work at home day. there is a reason I want to stay on her good graces for a few months due to another project outcome desire, so I won't complain
I am feeling very anxious about work!
Did get one little job done but it is volunteer work (related to work work)
I just had a call from a recruiter for an out of state job...I don't think I''ll pursue as if I did, DD would be going to college very far away from home. but a pleasant daydream

I did post the apartment for rent yesterday and I have four people ask for applications thank goodness the cleanup will be minor - just one more thing added to the pile or should I say list
It is friday and my co-worker and I always order out on this day I ordered an omelette with rye toast.
Weather is supposed to be really rainy this weekend. My plans to empty out the garage might get put on hold. And my son was actually available to help for a bit on Saturday. Maybe if it isnt pouring too hard we can still do it

Well, my DGS came early and took care of my chirping smoke alarm. He had traded his truck in on a new Honda which lowered his payment and his gasoline bill considerably. I went out to see it when he was leaving. May he always drive it in safety.
I watered the porch plants and wrote 2 pieces of mail and put them in the box for pick-up. Cleaned the cat pans and started the washer---a rewash because I let them sit in the washer overnight. Called in 10 days of BPs to Primary Dr. Did a lot of paring down of paperwork on the DR table. I have been letting things stay on the table lately and it needs to stop ! It still needs more work, but my sorting and recycling did help. Brushed out some of Mocha's difficult coat. Ate some soup for lunch.
A good thing that happened---I called the vet's office to see if a culture was finished and they called back while my DGS was here. Latte had a lesion on him and had been licking and licking 2 weeks ago when he was there for his annual and his labs. They didn't think it was ringworm and thankfully, it was negative. I have been vey worried about that because once, maybe 20 years go, we adopted a cat who had it and we had a dog and several other cats at the time, including a brand new baby kitten ( well, 8 or 9 weeks old.) It was a nightmare time for us with bathing and vet visits and multiple cultures, etc. It left a lasting fear in me. I simply could not do what my Hubby and I did that time to keep it cleaned up, etc. It did turn out well, but I was terrified that this would be a repeat. Thanking God that it was OK on Latte. I feel blessedly lucky.
Two hostages released--another shred of good news --Prayers for the rest too.
