Good morning bree! I'm glad you have a day off today, enjoy your Christmas prep.
in the old days I used to wait in the fax line at work
The other day I was thinking about cell phones and how it used to be that if you badly needed to contact someone while you were away from your house you had to look for a phone booth with a phone that hadn't been vandalized and was in working condition. Not to mention that if you needed to find some obscure fact and didn't have a set of encyclopedias in the house, you had to visit the library and use the reference section. It's hard to believe that things can change so much within one lifetime.
TO DO:
Call decluttering client 10 minutes PEEPing Restock water in fridge Delete 10 hard emails

Good Morning Everybody....wait is it still morning? I got up early and prepped and peeped the house..got the laundry going and dishwasher (it's really full!) We have a large ( and very stuffed) hall linen closet , dirty and disorganized, lots of empty cleaning product spray bottles and containers. I cleaned out and cleared the "floor section" yesterday. Whoa! It was a lot!! Today, I cleared one shelf up. I didn't know how to do this quickly , so I just emptied into a large tote and put the lid on.

Hello def! Good work on the closet cleaning--they are intimidating when they're full! Keep going, it will take a while but so rewarding when it's done.
The dog finally wanted to go out, so while out there I corralled the second piece of the spare hose which I had forgotten about, it was hiding under the stairs. I also cut down more stalks and threw them over the fence to the second part of the yard--I should really collect all those pieces and put them in one corner, it would look a lot neater.

hi def6 I cleaned my small front entryway closet and feel joy whenever I peer in it! Diane you just keep going! I went to the funeral. I am glad I went; there were a bunch of us alums there and my sister who is alum was there plus we knew them from the neighborhood. I feel bad for the family having to celebrate Christmas with this loss. Came home and cooked lunch and enjoyed a peaceful meal, only possible when the animal kingdom is not involved (puppy at daycare, boycat was out front, and girlcat was sleeping in DD room.. TMI!) but it was really pleasant to just eat at home animal free!! then I girded my loins and watched a youtube video and I got my vacuum working again! feeling very proficient. vac'd living room and upholstered furniture wiped down a shelf and cleaned the glass vases on said shelf started a load of laundry set up the Christmas tree - we have an artificial one with lights. I SOOOO love not putting lights on a tree! This is a narrow tree, not the extreme narrow, but narrow due to who else but puppy! for our first puppy Christmas when she was just under four months, I Had the tree tucked in the dining room so I needed skinny tree. now it is back in the living room. I'll wait for DD to decorate it next week. but it will be nice to have the lights on at night. after that I am pretty tired so taking a break. so glad DD and I have agreed our days of a real tree are over. I loved having one (though i felt bad about cutting down a tree) and the smell was great, but it was not easy getting it in the house and on a stand alone or with the help of child. after the break: vac stairs vac dining room make a list of DD presents to date to see what I have spent go to grocery store go to post office (my cards arrived! they look good. I like to show off my DD but I also always have a message about the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord) I am debating buying some wine to sip while i look at my tree tonight! not sure, it might make me too sleepy and i have breakfast with friends tomorrow. I am loving being off work! absolutely loving it! ohblondie go after that retirement and I will live vicariously through you.

Wow bree, congrats on fixing the vacuum cleaner! You ARE proficient!
If I ever buy another Christmas tree I will be sure to get one with lights, although I always worry about how long they will last before burning out. I just can't get back to enjoying the decorating--this year I put up a 2 foot tree in my reading room with a string of lights on it and I have maybe turned it on twice in the month it has been there--it just makes me sad instead of happy.
It's time for lunch and a movie break.

Hi Everyone !
This morning I did all the daily things and some laundry. I still have a load in the dryer and it can stay until tomorrow. Took down the trash, including some expired foods from the fridge. Felt bad about the food; I missed the time when I could have used them, but it's too late now.
I got caught up in business stuff again and wrote 3 pieces of mail. Had to call and dispute a charge on my credit card bill too.
I didn't go to the attic and bring decorations down after all. Diane is coming tomorrow and hopefully the tree will get done. The pick-up time for the big outing is now down to 2:30, so I hope we can get it done before I have to leave.
Be well, everyone, and have a good weekend !!

Took off work for Thursday afternoon & all day yesterday to be with Bro & his wife. They slept very late on Thursday as I thought they would. Didn’t make it over to visit DMom until dinner time. Bro fed her instead of caregivers. I introduced them to everyone.
My DH ended up not going with us as he met DS in the ER. DS got sick late last night & developed fever then. During day he felt sick with nausea & stomach type pains. My grandson had just gotten over having fever for 4 days. Wasn’t sure if this was something from him or not. (My DS seems to catch everything & ends up very sick & for a much longer period of time. Strept test was positive.
So my DDil took grandson to an urgent care across the street from where DD was to see if he tests positive. Nope, but evidently a 15 minute visit turned into an hour of screaming, etc. as there was something wrong with his ears. Several rocks inside. Oh, the description of this visit was terrible. Since he’s not talking yet, they had no idea but those had been in his ears for quite a while according to the Dr. Their pediatrician’s office had missed this before they flew to CA a couple weeks ago & maybe even before that.
DGS had been behaving terribly the last couple weeks. They thought it was just terrible two’s, but yesterday (Friday) he was so very good & calm they are certain that the ear problem was the cause.
Needless to say, they may be changing pediatricians & pray no damage has occurred.
They’ll likely need to go to an ENT.
DS had to get a CT with contrast. Gastritis & maybe diverticulitis, etc
After work Thursday, I did a little bit more pickup. Good thing Bro & wife are used to messiness, etc. They only have one dog now, but lots of cats. They also do rescue for kittens & some cats.
Very late night, 12:45am, my sweet “Puppy”, at least 11 years old, had a frightening event. After chasing a rabbit out of out yard, she came back thru the dog door & I heard 2 yelps & heard a kind of bang sound on the floor. It was like she had a seizure or something. She had flopped over & was lying on her side with her legs outstretched & still. OMG! I stroked her & talked to her & called for DH to come. It was only a minute or two, but was very scary. Before he came she rolled onto her tummy & laid there then got up & walked straight to her favorite dog bed in the dining room. Laid down & I just kept petting her & talking to her.
After a while, DH & I went to bed & she came in & jumped way up into our bed where she slept the night & seemed fine.
