Good afternoon danny! I love to see ohblondie organizing her clothes too--I love to hear about any organization project, it makes me so happy for the organizer!
During my last list the dog wanted to go out a second time, and she had a second BM.
One more list before lunch.

Some day - a picture! Working retail was good for e in oe respect - I loved folding the clothes and making the racks look nice and neat. I learned if you take wax paper and run it along the hanging rack - it allows the hangars to slide more smoothly. Now the temptation to buy all of these clothes was another issue....
I went out over lunch and made my car payment. I used to work downtown in the "big city". So I decided to stop at my favorite little sandwich shop for lunch. I used to get a small salad (shredded lettuce that is used in subs) with tomato, cheese, olives, peppers and either egg salad or tuna fish on top. It used to be somewhere around $5. I went today and it is now $8.50. wow. I wont be doing that again for a long time! But it was a nice treat.
My sweet Cali is sitting next to the bed = staring at me. She is sitting so quietly but at attention. I think she wants to go out. no - she wanted me to call her up to snuggle with me.
I am traveling to New Orleans for a conference this spring. I am heading out and hopefully meeting my older DD for a few days vacation in "the big easy". I remember a Squalorfest in New Orleans many years ago. Do we still have members down there? Any tips on where to go and what to do would be appreciated. She found a nice AirBnb in case my son's GF and her DD join us.
OK - just a little more time to work then I am done

Diane, we have a lovely pair of cardinals here too, eating seeds. Twice for almost a year each time, we had a male cardinal who would bang against the windows. A few hours in the morning, and he would go from one window to another around the house. Then again in the evening. I worried that he would hurt himself. A wildlife person told me to cover the windows ~ that the birds were seeing their reflection and being very territorial were trying to scare off the *other* male. I didn't want to cover every window so we let him have at it. Although the banging was annoying I did miss each bird when he decided to leave the area.
I am declaring myself the queen of storage packing. Somehow, I cleared enough space and am in the process of rearranging things to fit on one side of the garage. Nothing is actually leaving (that must happen in the spring!!) but things are being tucked into place so that what is not needed is packed away and what I still want access to (wildlife feed containers) we can reach easily. Nothing is above the window line on the garage doors. The windows are in the top third (?) of the doors. There are windows on the sides of the garage but those have always been covered by shades and curtains. Someone could come up to the door and see stuff but from the outside it does not look packed to the gills. I've seen houses like that and they scream HOARDERS!!
I also took all the batteries out of the lights on the artificial greenery. Very glad I did that because some of the boxes that are supposed to be waterproof had rain water in them and them batteries were gunky. I am too tired to get that stuff over to the storage unit anytime soon. So they are being carefully piled on other boxes. The actual storage boxes are at the storage unit. I am getting too old for this.

Danny, that's weird about the cardinals flying into the windows! I've never had that happen, thankfully. Usually just the female comes at night but now she has a boyfriend!

I got a long call from my shopping friend during that last list--she is completely recovered from her bout with Covid and is back to walking the hall every day, she was afraid she'd have a setback with her walking because she had to spend over a week in bed, but apparently not. She's still having trouble with some of the staff members and is having some stomach issues, but she sounded much stronger that last time I talked to her.
I'm going to stop for dinner now, so I'm probably done for the night.
They keep adjusting the forecast for the snow tomorrow, now they're saying the 5 inch number is more likely than the 10 inch number because some of the precipitation will fall as rain where I am. I don't care how much snow falls, I'm just worried about the cold temperatures after.

OK Last night I e-signed the sale contract paperwork for my parents. I at least did it in front of my mom. My parents struggle with some of this online stuff I had an excellent PTO meeting. These moms are so efficient and run a tight meeting and keep to schedule. I told them that I was going to be a grandma and that they need to sell school apparel in the smaller sizes. And apparel for dogs and blankets and such They agreed and were all congratulatory. I came home and ate some leftover pasta (bad....) My son has a small, overnight bag type suitcase. The zipper is all ripped and it has seen better days. But. I took his ski parka and ski pants and added his knit hats and ski socks. So all of his ski/outdoor stuff is in one suitcase. As I find and match up gloves - I will add them to the case. Doing this enabled me to clear off the top of the dresser and get my stuff more organized.
Bit by bit we are moving forward. And hopefully this will help him keep more organized on his end.
Other big news - I did extend my retirement date to April 10 and I refiled my papers for this. I think I meant to say April 11 so I might have to file again. This will allow for a more planful transition of work.
OK - so since I have to stay I guess I had better get working.

hi everyone, have not been here for a few days. read back! ohblondie congrats on the house sale and on extending your retirement. time goes so fast that April 11 will be here soon and you'll be richer! womble I hope your dog is ok, poor pup I have just been doing my usuals. taking care of animal tribe. working all day. keeping up with dishes and litter. we had some bad weather days from the big storm. lost power for a bit but mostly over night which is the best time to lose power. the wind was so great that walking puppy was a little stressful. i drove us to the town area where there are lots of wide open lawns not near trees. did that for two nights. last night was a regular walk. one funny thing as we walked along we came upon one of those black take out boxes for food. Puppy grabbed it and opened it, I figured it would be empty. Puppy opened it and there was a full untouched order of chicken nuggets! they were gone in a flash someone must have dropped their lunch. my little bird is here every day, comes around 5 pm and stays until morning. I am inordinately happy about it. it just gives me peace. I think it is a gift from God to have little bird here. so far today, I am working at home. chipping away. I have been pretty productive at work. the biggest work challenge is that there is soooo much food and treats there due to staff celebrations. today I fed the animal tribe, took puppy to daycare, went to the ATM, and filled the gas tank. just started a load of dog blankets. I am gong to use my lunch to put away Christmas from my dining room table. the groomer is coming this afternoon to trim girlcat's nails. poor girlcat screams out but it just takes seconds and this woman is a pro. I have been dealing with people dying in my extended circle and have been at several wakes and funerals during the past few months. I have another wake tonight, an especially tragic one. it is making me relish each day as the gift that it is. I also have been chatting with DD about things and for some reason I have had this revelation that I am keeping stuff that she will just toss upon my incapacity or death. I don't mean harshly and she did not say this, we did not even talk about stuff. But I was just thinking she has her future ahead of her, I think she will relocate and have an exciting wonderful life. It just made me think am I living in clutter because somehow having a pretty cocktail dress in a small size that I wore 20 years ago is worth it??? I really want a neat and orderly home while I am able to enjoy it! I am challenging myself to get rid of ten old clothes items this weekend. I want a beautiful bedroom! I think my current projects are deal with paper, deal with spareroom, deal with beddroom. I am really not that much into my old stuff, my biggest challenge is old DD stuff (she is not sentimental at all! I 'Rescued" sports teams uniforms from one of her purges). but I just love her baby stuff, her dollhouses, etc. I'll be like Scarlet O'Hara on that and leave it for tomorrow!

Good morning! I'm finally getting a chance to post.
When I woke up there were about 5 or 6 inches of snow on the ground, so I went to the back yard first so it would be ready when the dog wanted to go out. I did the porch, the yard sidewalk, and some walkways onto the lawn in the areas the dog uses most. Then I rested for 5 minutes and did the front porch and the front sidewalk. I did not do the walkway from the front to the backyard, since I won't need that for a while--I can even skip this week's garbage pickup if necessary since the cans don't fill up in one week.
I came in and had breakfast, then tried to go out to the upper back porch. I couldn't open the door! The snow had drifted and stuck. Luckily, last night I put the little snow shovel I keep up there right outside the door, so I was able to reach my arm around the door with the shovel and remove bits of snow until I could open the door. I shoveled the porch partly over the side of the porch, and partly to under the table that holds the seed pool. Then I shoveled out the seed pool and the feeder tray, and was able to put bird seed out.
When I came back inside I could tell I was getting an ocular migraine, which means I can't do much that requires good vision, so I called my decluttering client. At that point the dog wanted to go out, so we went--she would walk into the pathway I had shoveled onto the lawn, get to the end of it, and look very confused that there was snow at the end of it. Finally she did what she needed to do and we came inside.
Now I'm tired, a little sore, my feet are damp and I'm cold. After all that about another inch fell and now it stopped for now--the forecast says we will have some rain next, and then more snow tonight. I just know it's going to freeze in a dangerous way on the sidewalks, but I don't know if there's much I can do about it other then shovel whatever I can.
I will make lists today but I think I will be moving slowly.
