Oust, I hope back to work goes smoothly.
I got about five and half hours of sleep last night--I had a little trouble falling asleep and then woke up at 3:30 and couldn't fall back. Probably because of emailing with the handyman, thinking about more disruption from construction, the $$$ it will cost, plus the roof, and my upcoming doctor's appointment, and figuring out the new will, etc. etc. Too many things on my mind again--at night is when I really miss the dog since she was always on the bed with me. So I gave up on sleep at 5:30 and got up.
Then I went out to the back porch to get some empty bottles ready to take out to the rain barrel, and I heard a dripping on my back porch, right near the windowsill that's damaged. I opened the outer door to see that it was drizzling--they absolutely did not say anything about rain last night, I've been watching that because of the roof. So I go back in and am thinking that the damaged window sill got so bad that water is dripping into the wall. Finally, after more minutes of stress, I went back outside and down the steps, and realized the dripping I was hearing inside was just from water dripping from the downspout into the rain barrel, outside! Ugh. I can't believe I'm back to where I was in the condo, where any dripping sound just made me panic.
So today I'm going to concentrate on projects that I can work on now, and try really hard not to worry about future stresses.

Last night was busy!
I went to the store and returned the items AND DID NOT BUY ANYTHING WHILE I WAS THERE~~
I am putting together a basket for a co-worked and had to run into 5 Below to get a bigger basket. I ducked into Aldi to get something for dinner and ended up with a cartful I stopped to see my dad - he was having an excellent day Got home and had to rearrange the freezer - which meant pulling everything out and re-packing it. I pulled out some things to thaw and use. Out of sight out of mind......I should inventory my freezer....... I then went to a friend's house to fill out a recommendation form for her - she is going to work for the local school district. While there - she and her husband invited us to dinner this saturday night - her hubby is a good cook so I happily accepted. I am going to sit with her and go over the licensing rules for starting an after school program DH beat me home - and it was too late at that point to put the dinner in the oven. So he cooked two hot dogs and I will make this meal later in the week or over the weekend.
Today is my usual WFH day but I switched up my days to accommodate an appointment which got switched at the last minute. UGH. I thought I slept well but I was tired when I got up and I am still a bit foggy.
I just went into the office kitchen and stumbled on a woman making a full on breakfast. French toast sticks in the toaster over, sausage in the microwave.... I wonder how long she was away from her desk doing that? I feel guilty toasting a bagel....

I just spent half an hour on straightening up the bedroom closet. I sort of forgot that I had a box of my sister's stuff in there that I couldn't face getting rid of, including all her old medicine. I started going through it but figured this is not the best time to do that, so I just took out medications and some toiletries that I knew I could just get rid of. The box went back in there, maybe I'll try to do it a little at a time so it's not overwhelming.

Good morning everypony!
I woke up mad about something in the news. Vented my frustration sideways by replying to comments I didn't agree with about DUNE 2. "...but someone was wrong on the internet!"
But then I got busy. I am developing a new routine, expanding my daily balance check in. And I also wrote down 30 action items triggered by reviewing my inbox. Need to work on getting ready for LD and 3's weekend visit this morning, before going to the next town this afternoon. DVD is at an appointment, which gives me some mental/emotional space to get started.
DONE: made coffee updated log reviewed and updated auto bill pay spreadsheet checked utility bill payment--yes set up auto bill pay w/ auto and renter's insurance made a payment checked online balances checked email checked calendar updated challenges
NEXT UP: take meds wash up and get dressed type up list I wrote and prioritize action items

Diane - I have been trying hard to incorporate some reading time into my day. Even if it is 15 mins or so before bed. Sometimes I try to read over lunch but I usually have errands over lunch
It has been chilly at work all day today. It is cooler and damp outside
I went to Aldi over lunch and purchased a small laundry basket. it is square and has wheels similar to a suitcase - they allow you to spin in any direction. There is a special name for them and and I forgot! I have decided to get the tools that will help me care for my parents better and do my jobs better. This will make it easier to schlep my dad's laundry out to my car and back. Now to get those cleaning attachments that attach to a power tool.
tonight I am going to drop off that basket for my co-worker. then go help my mom put her clean clothes away

A wheeled laundry cart sounds great! How come I've never seen these around? I guess I don't have that much wheeling around to do though, the hard part is taking it up and down the stairs.
I got lost in plant research--I'm reading how many weeks before last frost to start seeds of varying kinds and the answers are different depending on what article I'm reading. I decided to start one small tray of early birds--plants that I'll put out early to get a head start--but only about 8-10, because I probably have 8-10 extra buckets and garbage cans and bins that I could use to cover them overnight if there was a late frost.
I'm in my mid-afternoon tired period--this is two nights in a row with not enough sleep so my eyes are closing. But as usual, I will resist a nap.

Spring has officially sprung here!! On the way to acupuncture I saw lots of flowering Eastern Redbud trees and daffodils and other pretty flowers. By the end of today we will have more rain in March than we had during the whole month of February. I pass over a fairly large lake that has been distressingly low for a long time with drought conditions. It looked like it had steep beaches all around it for a while. Even some little *islands* were popping up in the shallow areas. Today the water was completely up to the tree line again.
There was a newly opened natural food market and cafe across the hall from acupuncture. I stopped in and picked up some good stuff and got a couple sandwiches. DD1 and I had a little of each; they were really big, stuffed with very fresh ingredients and lots of very fresh sprouts. We don't eat a lot at one time anymore so those sandwiches will last for a couple meals. We did eat all the sprouts because those go bad so quickly.
Acupuncture was pretty intense today. I felt the needles go in which I usually do not. I was able to lay with them for about 45 minutes, then had moxa burning on my belly and some deep tissue pressure.
Afterwards I feel a relaxed energy. The rest of this evening I will ~ get some more laundry done and folded for donation my turn to get trash together my turn to take trash and recyling to the road for tomorrow's pickup do a quick clean of two refrigerators deal with an issue with a frozen food delivery I did not order start to pull together more papers for my tax accountant set up a new Keurig for coffee tomorrow morning comb thru one kitty's dense coat refresh a large grapevine wreath with silk greenery and flowers
Even though it is now 6:00 p.m. those things are doable since I don't get to sleep until around 3:00 a.m. I'm really looking forward to jumping ahead one hour this weekend. Love that later sunset!!!

Danny, you're so lucky to be getting good rain, I am so hoping that we don't have a drought again this spring. That's right, daylight savings time this weekend!
I'm going to make dinner now, it's a little early but I might be going to bed early too, I'm really tired. I did bring in 6 gallons of water this afternoon but haven't done anything with the outdoor plants, and today was sunny so it would have been a good day to do it.
I'm going to have to email the handyman again--the electrical outlet that I had some trouble with last week is doing the same thing again, this time I paid more attention to what was happening and I'm afraid to keep using it now. I'm not sure if it's the outlet or the microwave causing the problem.
