Hi Everyone! I've missed you all! I'm working on my kitchen this morning. Trying to get stuff OUT. So far I have 5 plastic bags store in the car ready for the dumpster. I seem to have a habit of buying stuff for a new diet and I use one of them but then the rest of the stuff just sits there. I've managed to keep the sink clean thanks to paper plates, plastic utensils & the dishwasher for pots & Tupperware. I just need to get more stuff out.

Good morning womble and turkeyhill!
Thanks for starting the week, lennon!
Well, I did the walk to Aldi this morning. I'm tired, I think I was picturing myself just going to a few places in the store to look for the things I remember liking--but after not being there in a couple of years I wanted to walk down all the aisles and look at everything. So it was more tiring than I thought, however, it was so cool when I started out walking that I was chilly! So walking in the cool air was nice too. By the time I left the store the sun was out so it was warmer, but not uncomfortable. I just wish they opened earlier--they open at 9 compared to Walmart opening at 6am! I did buy more than I planned too--I saw that some of my regular purchases were cheaper there than at Walmart, so I figured I would buy them. So, I enjoyed that trip.
Every time I come home from somewhere, though, I still sort of direct my attention to the bedroom for a second, expecting to hear my dog start whining because she hears I came home.
I put away the frozen and refrigerated stuff, now I have to call my decluttering client and then sit and rest for a little bit.

Happy Monday! aw Diane that is sad about listening for your dog ...hello womble turkeyhill and lennon. womble hope your hip feels better. I have not posted for awhile, I had last posted that my knee was really bothering me. last weds I ended up in so much pain and barely able to walk, so I got into the doctor. had xray and ultrasound. I am not certain what comes next. I go back this week. I had a pretty rough time as I could not really walk and was clutching at walls. my sister brought over crutches this weekend, which have been a miracle in helping me get around. Also a compression thing. DD has also been a Godsend, walking puppy, doing housework, running errands, groceries, litter, cooking, just all the stuff of daily life I did ask for an accommodation at work to work home for a short while as I figure out what comes next. Unfortunately, Chaos was plain old nasty, told me those requests were denied, and that it was not fair of me to expect her to cover for me ...just a real b. ugh. I found out that a work accommodation w a doctor note is actually legal right and she can't turn it down. also I stressed to her I am just saying I'll work from home, and zoom in, there is no need to cover. she is a nasty piece of work. She has not once asked me how I am, her response has only been who will cover your work. that is it. I wish I could leave that job but it is in my financial interest to stay at least 1.5 more years. So i have not been doing much except work from home, medical appts, and hobbling around. I have a feeling that my doc office will be ok with getting me to the lowest standard of physical well being and that I'll have to fight for more than the minimum. For example, I told them I cannot walk from my parking spot to my office and they did not react and the provider even said "what do you want me to say" and Im like maybe a treatment option??? I called back and asked can I get a cane or something? I have no experience with this. the person was like well I don't know can you go to a store and buy one? I don't know, I thought a doc office might know and might even bring up how to get one as I could barely walk. so ugh. one blessing - last night a friend called and asked if puppy could play with her puppy, so DD drove us over and puppy was able to get all of her wild energy out as it has been harder on her too as I am very stationary. So far today-- my porch was painted! I did work work. have a meeting w Chaos and others later. do not want to see her again! I am doing better but if I do anything for a period of time, knee starts to really hurt.

Hello bree and TT!
Bree, what did the doctor say about the tests? Didn't they call you with results yet? Does the pain feel like it's in the knee joint, or in the muscles around the knee? When I had my sudden knee pain, it was in the muscles, and it made it impossible for me to bend my leg without horrible pain. Chaos sounds like pure evil, I just don't get how people like that keep management jobs.
I have been working on the bird cage. I bought lots of new perches recently and today I'm putting them in. I want to take some things away from the cage, and take other things out and clean them. The cage is packed full of perches, toys, etc., you're supposed to make the top part of the cage very full so it feels like the bird would feel in a tree, with branches all around for security. So there are a lot of things in there. Once this project is done I'm going to move the new bird's cage next to the old cage. According to best advice you're supposed to quarantine a new bird for 30 days--I'm willing to take the chance to shorten that time since I don't think either bird is going to do well alone--since I moved the cage to the other end of the table, the new bird has periods where he's kind of frantically hopping around one corner of the cage--the corner closest to the old bird! Like he knows he belongs with the other bird but can't figure out how to get there. I think a respiratory virus with an incubation period over 10 days would not be common, at least, I have never heard of one in animals or humans. So I'm going to put the cages together once I get the large cage ready.

Hi Diane -- it seems like a tightness around the knee, hurts with weight on it. I think it is wear/tear on my kneecap from what the report said, but I did not meet for follow up yet. I am in shock as this was so sudden. I am deeply depressed too TBH. I hope there is a solution that allows me to walk unaided.
Chaos is something else. I feel like she is trying to trip me up, sending terse notes like where is this, when is that ...hard to explain but tone is hostile.
doc office still has not sent note!
Otherwise I have been doing work work. trying to limit eating as I am so less active. I did sit out back with puppy. she likes the company but I could not really play. did scoop her poop hoping I would not tumble into it : )
dreading this meeting later. I am too old for this BS! I should not get so rattled. I remember once in a meeting someone had a messy break up and Chaos piped up if you want to do anything to them, I am great at revenge. That has always stayed with me!
I do miss work though, I mean I'd much rather be there with a good knee and socialize.

Bree, that sounds painful--keep checking (politely) with the office about the note, things get pushed aside if no one is asking for them. I hope your follow-up appointment is soon, maybe you need a knee brace, assuming it's something that will heal on its own. I'm sure puppy wants you to chase her, not just let you sit and have the toy retrieved to be thrown again. Good thing your DD is home now!

bree is there any kind of catch in your knee - front or back? Feels almost like a painful ping - maybe like someone was inside your knee flicking it hard with their fingers. . I've torn my meniscus and that is what it feels like. I tore it in multiple places so ended up with minor surgery and rehab. Your doc should follow up with PT orders or something once they get the results of your tests. Or suggest a cortisone shot. Considering all the issues you've had with that other employee - I don't think your HR would be too responsive but issues like the one Chaos did - denying medical accommodations can get the company sued. She's an idiot. . Blessings on daughter! Diane - Excited that the birds get to be near each other - everyone's morale will improve.

bree, I am so sorry you are dealing with the knee pain. I agree with Diane about the gentle reminders to the Dr office about the note,

Hi PC!
I have been cleaning bird things with "Poop-Off"! It works really well. When you set up a bird cage they recommend placing everything so that if a bird is sitting on it and pooping it won't hit anything else but the bottom of the cage. Well, easier said than done, especially since they recommend so many toys and stands and perches. So things inevitably get pooped on.
I also went outside and spent 45 minutes weeding and watering a few things. I wanted to stay outside because it's comfortable temp-wise, but my legs and back are hurting from the walk so I came inside. I'll need to steam veggies and open some cans before dinner so I'll get started on doing that. I'm almost out of brown rice too so that'll be a job for tomorrow.
