Scholar, that's great that PT was able to help you--I hope the same is true if bree's knee needs any treatment, I hope it's just PT and is successful.
I went out for another 20 minutes session in the yard since it got so nice and cool again this evening. I haven't finished the cage yet, so the new bird won't be moved over until tomorrow. I did make veggies and had dinner, plus got another one hour long call from my shopping friend.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

bree, When my knee acted up badly, after being stiff for a long, long time, my Dr. did not order x-rays, but did order PT. The PT has not helped the original stiffness much, but the pain has improved enormously. I was also offered having the knee injections, but declined those. I will be moving to my DD's home very soon and will find out the cancer treatment plan this week, so I will not be having Erin, PT anymore. She does not go to that location. Someone else may be able to go there, but of course, there could be surgery , etc, so who knows what will happen to further PT possibilities ? I wish you well in this situation of yours. My charity pick-up is tomorrow and I have been working almost non-stop getting things packed up and out to porch for that. I am very tired. Also packing to go to my DD's place. Everything has happened at once. catcats

Good morning!
Catcats, oh, how I feel for you trying to pack up under time pressure, it's an exhausting experience. Not just physically, but emotionally. I hope you can put some things off until you find out what your treatment plan will be, unless you feel like it's urgent to sell your house right away, the less stress, the better. Good that you got a charity to pick up, rather than having to drive things yourself.
I have to go to the library this morning, but of course, have to wait around until they open at 9. I did 45 minutes in the yard, all of it spent weeding to fill up the remainder of the yard waste bin for pickup tomorrow. I thought I had finished cutting up all the branches from the last major tree pruning, but I found some I missed behind the monarda/milkweed plots in the back, so I dragged those out and cut off all the side branches, I'll wait to cut up the main branches until the bin is empty so that I only need to cut them in half instead of smaller sections. It got really cool overnight so it feels good out there now. Tomorrow it gets hot and the entire next week looks awful, beginning of next week will be 90s.

Good morning, everyone!
Going to start what will be a very busy day today. I think today I am going to play a game with a timer. Start with five minutes being productive and a five minute rest. Will update and then go from there …

five minutes being productive and a five minute rest
I love games like this TT, I can't do them for hours and hours, but they really do let me have productive chunks of time when I would otherwise be procrastinating!
I have been working on the bird cage--almost done, so I will be able to move the new bird this afternoon.
Now it's finally almost time to leave for the library.

How are you doing, TT?
So, I finished everything I wanted to do in the cage, and moved the new bird's cage next to the large cage. Luckily I had a bedside table that adjusts in height, so I was able to position the cage exactly so that one perch in each cage was right next to each other. As I was moving things into place the old bird got scared and moved to the far end of the cage. The new bird immediately starting jumping around the side of the cage that was next to the other cage.
I sat down to read, figuring I would keep an eye on what was happening. Within a couple of minutes, I looked up and saw that the old bird had quietly moved across the cage to sit on the perch next to the new bird, I didn't even hear him moving. The old bird did some head bobbing, and then they both quieted down and just sat next to each other. I will try to spend a lot of time in that room today and see how things are going.

The birds are very low key--the old bird moved away to a different perch for a while and the new bird hopped around a little bit but then settled down, and later the old bird went back next to the other one. As long as they're next to each other, both of them are calm and quiet. The old bird normally sleeps a lot, and continues to sleep a lot now. So all is well.
I went back outside for 45 minutes, I had to put the cans in the street for pickup tomorrow, and before I did I got a few more weeds in the yard waste can. I also did some watering since things are starting to look dry. It was too hot to stay out longer, and today is only in the upper 70s--I'm not sure what I'll do for the days in the 90s.

My shopping friend called again, the third day in a row, so I was on the phone for a long time.
I might try to go out now for 20 minutes or so to water a few things to get a jump on tomorrow, it will be 90 tomorrow so I will have to water the entire yard.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

Diane, it warms my heart to read how your old bird and your new bird are learning to care about each other. You did just the right thing to get the newbie. Your old bird was getting lonely. I am happy for you and for them.
