So I got up and showered and dressed Then I decided I needed to plant the few remaining tiny impatient plants. I planted them as a border around the two front garden beds and they look great. So I plugged the few remaining plants along the side garden. Hopefully they will take root and flourish. Needless to say I am now hot and sweaty
The fridge is set too high. I pulled out the cottage cheese and it is frozen. That is next on my list .....
Now that the fridge is clean, I think I will continue my attack and clean off the counters.
Off I go

Oh wow, my wonderful handyman came through. I did not ask him to make an exception, he usually has a strict rule about not working weekends. But he offered--he told me if I bought an air conditioner for pickup, he would pick it up Saturday morning and come over to install it, and do the rest of the outstanding work another time. I tell you, that man is worth his weight in gold, or platinum, or whichever metal is most expensive. Or maybe diamonds.
What a relief--I ended up ordering something I'm not really thrilled about, but this is an emergency and I've been looking around and couldn't find anything better. Plus, I'm guessing during this upcoming heat wave all the air conditioners currently in the stores will be selling fast.

So I got a wild hair. Well, I got distracted, and I pulled many weeds from the back yard garden. I will grab a can and gather them up.
I cooled off and brought my mom to visit my dad. On the was home we drove around and looked at some pretty gardens in the neighborhood. My neighbor will be featured in an upcoming garden tour.
I came home and attacked the counter to the left of the stove. I didn't get rid of anything yet, but I cleared it off and wiped it down and put things back neatly. Wiped down the coffee pot and toaster oven. Tossed a basket that held meds and gathered old meds to be disposed of. Next is organize the spice cabinet.

I feel so much lighter now! I haven't been doing much, because the house got super hot again and I turned on the room A/C, and I kind of spent most of my time in there reading. The area where the computer is is SO hot. We got another brief rain, and there's another chance to get rain at about 9 tonight.
Because tomorrow will be a lot cooler I'm going to try to plant the last plants waiting on the porch, so they have 2 days to adjust before the heat hits. If I leave them on the porch in the heat they will die for sure.
After talking to my handyman I thought--oh, I'll have to declutter the house tomorrow since he's coming Saturday morning, and then I realized, it's really not bad--just that messy kitchen downstairs. Even the bird room looks better than it did because I boxed up some of the plant stuff I wasn't using. I had to move a plant table away from the window to put the A/C vent through it so the room looks odd, but then, many of my rooms do. I will have to clean the bathrooms tomorrow, and maybe sweep a floor or two.
I was hoping it would get cool enough in the early evening to do a little more yard work but it doesn't seem like that will be the case. I will have tomorrow, though, and Saturday isn't supposed to be too bad.
Good night everyone, see you tomorrow!

thanks ohblondie and TwinkleToes Chaos and Confusion!!! perfect!! catcats I am so glad your CAT scan was good and that you are moving ahead. I will pray for you and for a smooth move this weekend and for the coffee boys to adjust! Diane so glad your handyman pulled through! not much to report. did some work, met a deadline. there are so many deadlines. oh well I'll pull a Scarlett OHara that is what tomorrow is for! went to doc appointment. not very satisfactory. provider does not even try to hide her indifference. I did get a referral to a specialist and today could not call cuz appointment line off, will call first thing in morning. a really nice thing happened today - a colleague sent me a lunch delivered to my house! sweet!!! yesterday afternoon I made a crock pot soup so poor DD did not have to keep going to the grocery store for her meals! and it is working for supper tonight too, and it is a favorite. I also played fetch with puppy to test out my knee...it ached but I don't know if it is good or bad to get exercise....hope I can get into specialist soon. did the dishes. this morning I mopped the kitchen floor too - it gets so messy with my messy cats and a topping of dog hair!! cleaned the toilet and bathroom sink. trying to keep up. DD is a HUGE help but there are so many tiny little things able bodied me did throughout the day that really make a difference. tried to do little stuff to keep up. will go binge a show now. I am living in slow motion! DD will go walk puppy.

I should prob do a blog post on my forgotten blog but lately, driven in part I am sure by my mobility issues, I have been thinking of all the stuff I am holding on to. Also went to dinner with two retired friends a couple weeks ago and realized I will be retiring in a few years so does it make sense to hold on to some beloved work outfits from the late 90s early 2000s?? Even if I lost the weight to wear them -- that chapter of my life will be coming to an end. I will always need a variety of clothes for brunches and dinners and weddings but it was just a sobering thought and a funny one -- someone retiring in a few years prob does not need a beloved work outfit from 2002!

Oh Bree, I am struggling with the same work clothes issues. I just found a bin with my summer work blazers......I do attend professional meetings so I am hanging on to some blazers and dresses.
I just went downstairs and organized the bottom two shelves and the top left shelf to the left of the stove. The top right is in good shape. The middle shelves are all of the spices and I will deal with that tomorrow Was this a priority project? No. But every time I opened the doors, something fell out and it was getting hard to find what I needed. I do NOT need salt and pepper shakers, but I would like to find the missing white one that matched my parents old dishes. I had a cut crystal toothpick holder on a shelf in the bathroom (doesn't everyone?) and I have that in the cupboard holding some random toothpicks. I love when it all comes together
I also do not need baking soda or powder , but I should check dates and toss the old.
I should quickly fine tune the pantry tomorrow.
Garbage and recycling are out for pickup tomorrow
My daughter is so pregnant and having a hard time moving around so I am going over tomorrow to help her clean. She has about 4 weeks left and we are hoping she will go early
Ok. Now I am upstairs looking for things to put away

Three more appts. today--PT, Pre-op. and haircut. I am exhausted. Surgery will be on the 21st. I had to work in the pre-op quickly to get that date and the Primary office folks cooperated nicely.
My DD will come in the morning and take me for lab work and we will load her car. Erin will be here at 12 noon. My DD will transfer more computer stuff to laptop.
I did brush the cats today and packed a batch of books after dusting them. Phone calls re appointments.
My love to all. Thank you for kind thoughts and prayers. Internet, TV, and phone off tomorrow; only cell phone for me.

Hello, everyone! My visit with my friend yesterday was awesome! She didn’t judge me at all. I knew she wouldn’t. She is so kind,
My day started with an annoying email from Confusion. I am on vacation right now except for some tutoring I am doing on the side and my vintage resale booth. Confusion seems to think that everyone in our department should want to work during our vacation time on projects that she should have organized and finished before the end of May. Ugh.
Anyway, I was so so so proud of myself yesterday for all I accomplished. I did a little more after my last list, including pricing a lot of items for my booth, paying my taxes online, and renewing my car tags online.
This morning, I want to start with some self care, then go back to all the spaces I worked so hard on yesterday and get them back to zero. For example, my kitchen was straightened up, but now I know there are dishes from dinner last night. I also want to price more booth stuff, go to the bank and make a deposit, and I am going to go reset my booth today. If I have the energy, I want to continue to declutter - focusing on my bedroom. I still have half the room (including the hard, overwhelming corner) to go.

Was this a priority project? No.
Ohblondie, if you have the motivation to work anywhere I think you should go for it, it all will have to be done eventually and when something strikes you, that's when you'll have the energy to do it.
Bree, yes, milestones (big ones like retirement and little ones like having a knee issue that slows you down) make you think about the future, I would think getting rid of work clothes would be satisfying because it tells you that in a year and half you will no longer have to deal with chaos!

Good morning everyone, I was out in the yard for half an hour weeding, and I watered some areas where I want to plant the porch plants. We didn't get much additional rain last night, the total for the whole day was around half an inch, which is better than nothing. It will still be pretty warm today and tomorrow, they keep revising the high upwards, but still better than the last 2 days.
I need to get a lot done today, I know this afternoon will probably be too uncomfortable to work in this room so I'll try to get things done upstairs in the morning. And, my grocery order should come in the next two hours.
