Thanks dtesposito for the good luck wishes. Very nice dinner -- step-mom could not come hence the family dinner, step-mom does now want to be around my mom. The family divide. WOW so much progress everyone -- WTG!!!!!! My first focus will be on checkbook and paying bills so I know my spending budget for the month and will not over spend when I go shopping this afternoon. Will sprinkle in laundry, dishwasher, van tidy, rabbit cage clean up and home tidy. Have a great day everyone.

I just love coming on here and seeing so many people posting! The only thing I've done this morning, besides showering and pet care, is making up the invoice I have been procrastinating about. So that's an annoying job that's now finished. I have to leave soon for mid-day work and after that will be home for the rest of the day. Much to catch up on later, I never did do any laundry or dishes yesterday. Before I leave for work I'm going to gather some garbage and recycling to take with me on the way out. Diane

dtesposito - congrats on getting that invoice done!!!! Good luck with your plans for today RoadRunner. So far I did my self-care - even remembered to take my vitamins which I have been forgetting for a few weeks (or months?) now. Birds are uncovered and quietly chattering. Bed made, and I started puttering in my room. Rearranged 2 drawers and for in the little bins I bought for containing things - but so far the bins are empty - but its a start and wasn't even planned for today. Dishes are washed, counters wiped. Next I will look after birds, but first I need to vac their room, then clean out all seed and papers in their cage, before they get their mist bath which I hope they enjoy. My apt is quite warm and I hope this will cool them off. (I want to rearrange the furniture in there today too.)

All I've managed is two 45 minute sessions raking in the front yard and it's almost done. It's rather breezy which helped me to stay a bit cooler but it annoying at the same time. At least the wind was blowing in the same direction as I needed to rake so I wasn't fighting it.
I decided not to bag it up but just dump it over the fence into the pasture. I think I'll also not bother to have the guy who mowed come back. Why pay someone else to do the very easy part of riding around on a mower when I still have to handle all the labor intensive clean up afterward. I guess the only way to get a thorough job done is to hire a real landscaping service, not a guy who just does cut and run, but I don't think that I want to spend that kind of money. Oh well, live and learn.
There is a magnolia tree in the side yard and it's never done very well and only bloomed one year but it looks like this winter finally killed it off since it is not showing any buds and it should by now.
Breaks over - back to work.

Well that turned into quite a work out. I vacuumed the spare (bird) room about 3 times. I went through the closet, taking out some summer stuff I hadn't removed yet - plus I was looking for where I had put my fabric bins, so I opened 4 totes in the closet to find only papers in them. (Memorabilia mostly.) I also added stuff I had laid on top to the small warranty tote. I removed other things from the closet too, which are now in my bedroom and the hall. This was all because I decided I wanted to move the wing chair in front of that closet, and the cage where the chair was. So once everything got cleared, and I removed the seed dishes, and then the newspaper from the tray at the bottom of the cage and got it vacuumed out, I was finally ready to spray the birds with tepid water. I think they loved it. Barney kept flying around with his wings towards me because I think he wanted me to spray them more - but maybe he's too young to realize that a wet bird is a heavy bird. (It took them 6 days in the flight cage before they realized how much they could fly in it - 2 days ago.) Bailey just kept coming close and retreating, like she wasn't sure what to do, but she did not act frightened. I didn't do it too long as I didn't want to overdo it the first time, but I think it was a hit. Maybe too they were stunned because I had them in the hall, and then they are now along a different wall of the room. Once done they just sat and didn't even chirp for a bit. Hopefully this will become a weekly thing now. The cage tray is now cleaned, and they have fresh seed and water in clean dishes. I washed up the old.
Now I am taking a bit of a break, then will get some lunch. I may do some rearranging in the storage closet this afternoon.

WTG calypso for putting in raking time. Personally I think 2 45 minute sessions is great! I'm glad there was a breeze and it worked with you. I don't know what part of the world you live in, but I am in southern Ontario, Canada and the magnolias near me were done about 2 weeks ago. Sorry yours hasn't bloomed - they are beautiful.

I switched focus to a bed that is a 1/4 circle next to the side porch and walkway out to the driveway. It was so overgrown and much of it was dead weeds that have fairly thick stems. The mower guy did weed whack them down and I'm trying to get the debris raked up. Have a big pile and it might be simplest to lay a tarp down next to it and move it on to the tarp and drag it out to the pasture to dump since breaking it down and trying to bag it up will be tough and time consuming.
I am done raking for the day because I'm starting to develop a sore spot at the base of my thumb. So another half hour put in. I don't want to wind up feeling so beat that I don't want to go enjoy the cookout and the nice company later today.
I'd like to get in another hour of work but it's going to have to be something indoors that is easier on this old bod.
Update: I did another half hour, put away some clean laundry and took one armload of winter clothing from my closet to the guest room upstairs. If I can take a little every day until as much of it as possible is moved then I can think about getting the closet painted.
I'm done for the day.

Good evening, this holiday weekend has me mixed up, I keep thinking today is Saturday!
I came home from work and did my usual lunch on the couch, reading--and I think I fell asleep for a little while...when I got up I got some things ready to mail, and was tired of looking through a messy desk drawer every time I needed stamps and address labels, so cleaned out the pencil drawer of my main desk. Then I did some PEEPing and straightening up, cleaned the bird cage and got rid of more of the difficult emails that I'm trying to delete.
I was going to go to the store tonight to buy a greeting card, but it's been raining steadily for the last hour so I don't think that'll happen today. I'm going to start a load of laundry, and then I have two phone calls I have to make. After I see how long I have to be on the phone, I'll figure out what else I can do tonight.

Awesome Progress here today WTG Progress today -- Dishwasher unloaded and reloaded, washed 3 load and folded 2 loads. Trip to town for groceries for steak dinner to celebrate DHs birthday. Bought DSs bed, brought home and setup - minus the box springs they will not be in until June 4th we used the bunkies from his loft bed for now. Brought DH a really really nice pillow for his birthday -- Memory Foam Lux Gel Pillow -- super excited about this present. DH is hard to buy for. Not a ton of accomplishment today but some very bigs ones so I will have to count this as a successful day.

A Good Day to all. Excellent progress from so many. You are definitely inspiring me to keep on working even though I really would like a day "off". The critters are all fed and the weather looks good for outside work, staying overcast and cool for the next several hours so I should be able to get a fair amount of work done out there. I did have a really nice time last night, going to dinner at the home of friends.
I do need another cup of coffee as I get dressed, ready to do battle with the darn weeds.
Enjoy your day, whatever you have planned.

Good morning calypso and mimi, and everyone else who joins in today. It's going to be warm and humid today, so maybe today will be the first air conditioning day? I have work in the mid-day but have a couple of hours before I have to leave. So, on to the rest of the pet care, and PEEPing.

Good morning everyone!!!!!
That memory foam pillow sounds awesome! Let me know how DH likes it. We need new pillows.
Got up and mad a delicious cup of coffee. Chopped up some leftover vegetables from yesterday adv gfs maw a delicious omelette.Washed all of the plastic bowls and stuff from yesterday. Once they are dry th get will get put away. Unloaded dishwasher and started reloading.
I just made another cup of coffee. I am sitting and relaxing for a few......
It is so weird, well not weird, I read about it all the time on this board. But now that the kitchen is really nice and clean and uncluttered, I'm hovering in there. I am constantly picking up things and getting rid of them I am being ruthless and just putting them away or tossing them. I was so used to seeing the mess I never said the clutter. Does that make sense? When I open the cupboard door and it's cluttery I want to get rid of stuff so things fit nicely. I don't want to ever get cluttery again. I know it will happen, and it will get cluttery, but hopefully not for a couple of days!
So once the plastic bowls and stuff dry, I will pack up the party box. I Wil sweep the floor again. Maybe even mop it again.....I like my shark steam mop. I will shred papers and iron clothes. And put the kitchen island back in place. It is on wheels so we can move as necessary. So handy.
So I guess I better get moving!!
I can'th wait to see everything that is accomplished today!!!!
