Yet again, this week's goal is to tidy up the living room. I would also like to plug up the sewing machine and get started on some Christmas gifts and clean off the kitchen table, put a tablecloth on it and set a place setting of my Christmas dishes.

I submitted a paper for school last evening. I'm not sure whether or not it will meet expectations, but it's been something I've been struggling with for a couple of months, and just over the past few days, I buckled down and wrote an overview of what I learned about this subject over the past few months. I'm glad that burden is off of my shoulders. I'd need to log back into the class's website and make sure there is nothing else that needs to be completed. I should also start thinking about which class I will take next. Other goals: Our water system: A couple of weeks ago, our UV water purifier went out. I need to clean out the system, replace the UV lamp, run diluted bleach through the pipes, and while I'm at it replace all of the water filters in the house. This is a big job, but it needs to be done. Pay the bills Write letters to my sponsored children (Compassion) Clean up some of the clutter. When DD was home we went through some stuff together, and she helped me see some possibilities for this place. I really need to clear our a TON of stuff to make any changes Check on pond pump. I think it died yesterday. ETA: I pulled the pump. Now I don't think it died, I think we lost power to the outlet it was plugged into which also powers the automatic chicken door, which is also not working.

So many things to-do, so little time.
I did accomplish some of my tasks that I posted on Wednesday. DH said he'd help me with the water project, but he and I are on completely different schedules. I normally get up at 5:00 a.m. for work. He isn't working now, and that's about when he goes to bed. On my days off I sleep in a little, but then I get up and I'm ready to get things accomplished, and he sleeps the day away. It drives me CRAZY!
Anyway, for this weekend, I would like to get the water project done, even if he won't help me.
I would like to move the bracket for the bird feeder. I bought a new swivel bracket for my bird feeder recently, because the old one is old and is partly broken. It's a complicated story, but our windows swing open, and the place I attached the bracket, unfortunately blocks the window from swinging open/closed. I want to be able to look out the window and see the birds on the bird feeder, but I also want to be able to fill the feeder by opening the window. The previous bracket locked in more positions and worked well, this one locks at a couple of fixed positions, and none of them is right for where I have it hanging now. I'm hoping if I move the bracket a little further from the window, I'll still be able to see the birds on the feeder, and also be able to open/close the window to get to the feeder.
I would like to do some major decluttering. When DD was home last weekend, she helped me see how all of my clutter is holding me back. I'm hoping that I can use that motivation she gave me, to get rid of some stuff.
Fun stuff: The local greenhouse is having it's annual poinsettia show! It's a lot of fun! I want to to go! I want to do something crafty, I have a pattern for making patchwork star ornaments.

I got a fair amount done last week, but decorating went slow. Finally by Sat. I did a bit of a blitz and got the apt cleaned and most of the decorating finished. I seem to get stalled every year once the tree is up and the lights on - then I don't feel like doing any more. But I got it completed - and the cleaning since that was bugging me too.
I still have some mini- decorating things to finish up - in the kitchen and spare room, and hang a shower curtain with red accents in the bathroom. I'd like to finish those today, and then start on this upcoming week's projects.
The main projects coming up are baking, maybe sending some Christmas cards out (which I haven't done for years) and then tidying up the storage areas that the decorating stuff came from.) I also need to do the summer and winter clothes switch, which should be fairly easy after I got everything sorted out several months ago. And to tidy up the front coat closet.
Plans for Dec 4 - Dec 10/ 16:
EXERCISE: Waterfit - 3 times at B rec centre - in the AM Healthy For the Holidays program - at least 5 times, but I am overdue on 2 from last week since I started it late
Weeklies: - maintain house, laundry, groceries - do dishes at night
MY Extras/ Christmas preps: THIS WEEK'S PROJECTS: Finish decorating: Kitchen Spareroom Bathroom Bake Christmas cake(s) Bake something else Freeze some baking Put away all decorating totes and items Tidy up locker, storage closet Bring in patio cushions to locker Tidy up coat closet Switch winter and summer clothes around Buy/ order another gift for dgs Decide on token gifts for ddil's family Go out to cemetery to change to winter headstone saddle on Dec 10 with ds and dgs
ALSO: Start crocheting blanket Recover 1-2 DR chairs Discuss Christmas plans with family ? Wash glass from LR side tables, and from fireplace/TV console shelves See if B is going to contact me re going out to celebrate our Nov. birthdays - no word from her at all Sew buttons on winter jacket, dry clean jacket
Deep Clean/ Rotating chores for Dec: - spot clean walls * - bedroom light fixtures, spare room light fixtures - clean switch plates, remotes,

okay i'm back from my trip with a huge backlog! first order of the week - today - is to get ready for the cold front coming. this requires: water all outdoor deck plants water all indoor plants cover the vulnerable ourdoor plants with wool blankets get extra space heater out of storage - the apt is COLD and i'm just recovering from a painful back spasm. dig up the begonias from their pots and box up de-fog inside car windows with Rainex find curtains to put up on east side of apt. put up something temporaryi still can't bend or lift much so que sera sera - if i can't do some of these things, i can downsize the deck plant collection next year after i see what dies and what lives. thanks to the weekend workalong thread, i did everything on the list above, except the storage items and cleaning and de-fogging the car windows.
i need to get these things from storage: winter coats extra heater or two christmas project box (and finish sewing on the decorative door hanger i started last year) maybe next week or the week after, i can clear enough space in there to get the tinsel tree up or string some lights if they are all not too buried. wash inside car windows and windshields put defogger on inside windshields and however many windows i can, & outside too. i'm off to storage to do the final things on this list.

My goal this week is to cut the carpet under the dogs crate where she has destroyed it. It has been soiled and ripped and smells! I will have to clean the floor underneath her crate and maybe put down an old blanket for her. I also need to remove empty cans, fluff from the couch and see what toys are savable. This may seen like a small goal but it feels like a lot of work!

I have had another group of visitors in, managed to hoover part of the flat, especially the couch. One of my new blankets leaves a lot of fluff everywhere, I have washed it this morning and hope it will help.
Been at the dentist this morning for a check up and she wants to see me again in two weeks. I carry on with my yoga.
I need to hoover my bedroom, dust and wipe all horizontal surfaces and put up some more decorations.

My goals for this weekend are to: Fill up a box/bag of stuff to donate Fill up a bag or box of stuff to toss. When I get up in the morning and look around at all of the junk, I find it easy to say that this stuff has to go, but when it comes to actually making it go, I find it much harder. I think I may have posted this a few days ago, but when DD was here over Thanksgiving, we moved some stuff around, and I found some some inspiration for clearing out as much as possible. I'd like to do a major clean out and then start over, renovating and redecorating, but that is easier said than done.
I think I'm going to make a few Swedish tea rings and maybe some St Lucia buns over the next few days. If so, I might start making the dough this afternoon.
I have 2 doctor's appts on Monday morning. I need to complete an online medical questionnaire and make up a note of things I want to mention to the doctor.
I should be enrolling in some classes for the spring and summer semesters. I tried to do that on my own, but need to get my advisor's approval. I sent him an email stating which classes I'd like to take and he returned with a blank email. My goal is to call him again, Monday afternoon, so I enroll in these classes before they are filled.

I recently got permission from my supers to have 2 more birds. So I have contacted 1 person re rehoming a female, and I am seeing the bird this afternoon. I had to do a lot of moving things in my locker to get out a spare cage - and then clean it up. And plan where to keep a bird right now, since it needs to be quarantined from my others for a few weeks - so had to move furniture, etc. But table is in place and cage is scrubbed down, and new toys and perches are purchased. I also found out that there is a gift exchange at the rec center Christmas party/ potluck on Wed., so I got most of my gift for that, but I still need to bake. The few gifts I am buying are purchased. I had discussed with ds and we kind of said we'd 'swap money' - and then why? We said we'd each buy ourselves something instead - and maybe wrap it and open it in front of each other. So when I say shopping is done - it's done except what I buy myself.
So I am basically on track. According to my master plan, I need to shop and bake this week. I now have bought (I hope!!!!) all of the ingredients for several things, so that is my main challenge this week. I am hoping to maybe bake 1 thing a day. Note I do not enjoy baking - but for some reason, this year I feel like I should. So I think trying out 1 thing a day may be reasonable. I have been working on eating down my freezer in order to have room to freeze things.
Since a lot of my baking tasks are done in the DR - since that is the best table height for me for mixing and chopping etc, that room will stay pretty messy until I am done. Meanwhile I plan to do the weekly cleaning of 1 room a day, starting at the back, so that maybe by next weekend I can clean the DR up too.
I also did waterfit 3 days last week, and plan to continue that.
Plans for Dec 11 - Dec 17/ 16:
EXERCISE: Waterfit - 3 times at B rec center Other exercises on other days - 3-4 times
Weeklies: Clean 1 room a day: - bathroom - bedroom and hall - spare room - LR/ DR - kitchen/ entrance Do dishes at night
MY Extras/ Christmas preps: THIS WEEK'S PROJECTS: Baking: 1 item a day: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Freeze some baking Pot luck on Wed., take cookies, gift Shop for gift for me - clothes, books Shop for gift for house - new cutlery? Buy 2016 ornament for dgs Finish decorating: Kitchen Bathroom (put out Christmas towels etc) Cards?
Winter Prep: Bring in patio cushions to locker Tidy up coat closet Switch winter and summer clothes around Sew buttons on winter jacket, dry clean jacket Go out to cemetery to change to winter headstone saddle with ds on Thurs?
ALSO: Bring home new bird, if all goes well with visit Watch for another male bird needing rehoming Start crocheting blanket Recover 1-2 DR chairs Discuss Christmas plans with family ?
Deep Clean/ Rotating chores for Dec: - spot clean walls LR, spare room - bedroom light fixtures, spare room light fixtures (need to get tool so can reach them) - clean switch plates, remotes,
