DD arrived home last night, safe and sound. We tried to watch a new tv show but we both fell asleep. It was hard getting up this am - I was zonkered!
I am working a half day then heading home to spend some birthday time with my dad - 86 years old.
OK - time to fax some paperwork

Well, so far the house is still in one piece, including still having internet, although with the wind I will not be surprised if that goes out. The temp at the moment is 8 below, with a wind chill of 33 below--the dog actually hesitated at the door but finally she went out and peed only and ran back inside--that means I'll be letting her in and out all day but on a day like today it's to be expected. I will also put out as much seed as the outside birds will eat, they were waiting on the upper porch this morning as usual, I just don't understand how they survive during this weather.
I fell asleep as soon as I turned out the light last night, but woke up at 12:30 and couldn't fall back until 1:30--besides getting up to go to the bathroom I went to the kitchen to make sure the faucet was still dripping, then I kept hearing the wind howling so I think I was just worried about the house. I made myself get up at 6:20 on the third snooze alarm.
I can't tell if there was more snow overnight, I don't think so, I think it was blowing around so much that there's a little more on certain areas--I will have to go out in the front to shovel but it shouldn't take long, there's only about an inch out there--unless it's frozen to the sidewalk, in which case it will have to stay!

I'll believe the weatherman when I see cold weather as it is 70 degrees at the moment!

Good morning PS! I think this storm is moving east so maybe you will still get a mini-Arctic blast!
I went out front to shovel, there was only an inch or two and it's light, so it only took a few minutes. After I warmed back up I took the dog out the back, she ran out, pooped only, and then limped back to the house--just walking in the snow is making her feet hurt--this is new this year, she did not do that last year. I didn't have to shovel in back but I put out a bowl of water for the birds and they swarmed around it--even though there's snow, which I'm sure is what they use to get water if no one offers them unfrozen water.
A while ago I looked out my front window, on a lawn across the street and a few houses down it looked like there was a person lying on the snow, feebly waving their arms--for about 2 seconds I thought--oh no--someone had a heart attack on their lawn while shoveling! Then the wind blew and I realized it was a mostly deflated Christmas decoration lying on the ground--it was person sized with arms and it fooled me for a second.
For anybody who is in this kind of weather who has to go out and work today, I hope you stay warm and get home with no trouble.

It has warmed up to 4 below and 29 below wind chill...
I guess I can try to do a few lists, I feel like I'm kind of hovering over everything, checking the faucets and worrying about the birds outside. I might as well try to get something done.

Done - Put away laundry - Handled mail - Wrapped final present - Cleaned downstairs sink - Cleaned downstairs toilet To do - Clear coffee table - Collate all trash and recycling (recycling trip put off til tomorrow) - Dust skirting boards - Maybe vacuum downstairs bathroom depending on time - Organise Christmas wrapping accoutrements and have them returned to spare room |

I loaded the dishwasher and will turn it on later when it is more full
Quick clean in the bathroom
Went out and did errands while it was 44 degrees, now it about 20 degrees
Biggest thing i moved a bunch of stuff to the side and fitted the car in the garage. I could barely get out the door though. Its a tight fit

Hey oust! Done: - Coffee table cleared - Hooray! This was a big deal. Now thinking I might put some candles out on it tomorrow for mum's visit, just to go big on the mood lighting! I also have two little sets of lights I brought home from work that have attached pine cones, berries and greenery, plus the tree, so our living room is a regular little grotto - Skirting boards swept - PUPA living room - Achieved dining table zero - Collated cardboard recycling - Organised Christmas wrapping accoutrements and have asked boyfriend to take upstairs - Folded living room blankets and put them away To do: - Change towels - Try to get some kitchen cupboard space cleared - Put baking buys away if so - Find somewhere to stash Christmas gifts for people we won't be seeing for a couple of days (probably behind the dining table if we can clear out all the trash) - Finish collating trash and recycling for recycling centre trip tomorrow - Check if laundry is dry, and bag up and take upstairs if so. Ideally, see if we can collapse air dryer - Find lots of oven trays for party food - Vacuum downstairs bathroom if time allows |

Good afternoon everypony! gosh I hope everyone stays safe.
The cold has passed here, of course--its 60*F and sunny for a couple of hours! I want to water the garden. I have been ignoring it, and so has DVD.
Last night I decided not to go to a concert--too much risk. So I put on holiday music, turned on the "candles," and opened some doll gifts to the Littles. And danced around the empty space in the LR! It felt good to get the kinks out.
DONE: made coffee took meds updated log
cat care made bed folded clean sheets and put away
checked online balance checked email checked calendar checked notifications maybe laundry holiday social media and e-cards
ON DECK TODAY: laundry
finish wrapping
plan and pack schedule opening with DVD dishes and counters easy off on rack water garden meds and supplements
shower hair face get dressed
that is a LOT! especially considering my current attitude. Hopefully once I get going I can make progress.

Made DH a dinner
emptied and put away the dishwasher
Nothing else urgent needs doing
i am wrapped up with the heat on and just trying to get up every hour or so to keep moving around.
