I am so happy you are getting so much done. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Altho embarrassing, I have great news from the structural engineer. We do NOT have a foundation problem. Yay!!! This means we can get the greatly needed repairs done on my home. We do need to do a few things like gutters $ downspouts, a new drain, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ went thru today's mail Reviewed Mom's LTC info on their portal - we are getting close to the end of it. DH took bag of trash to outside can 5 papers, 1 jar & 1 bottle into recycle bag Read over some other information re: one of Mom's financial things. Dieted successfully, today. -- well, close enuf. Drank 6 glasses of water. Emptied kitchen trash & replaced bag Work was okay, today, other than boss suddenly micromanaging things & going thru co-workers desk while he was gone & doing some of co-workers work. Also, questioning me about things that co-worker is doing... & wanting me to handle speaking with co-worker about some of the things that boss wants done differently. Didn't get a couple main things done that he had really wanted me to do due to him interrupting so often & having to constantly switch gears. It's okay, tho, as he wasn't angry with me about anything... and I work for him, so I'll do whatever he wants me to do... right? Unless I feel that something is morally wrong, it's a job & if I don't do it... someone else will do the job. (I did do something that I felt was morally wrong about 6 years ago at this same job. It was something legally he had the right to do, but I felt really horrible about it. I will not do something that really goes against my grain, again). Still have a couple more things to do before going to sleep & it's very late here. No exercise tomorrow morning, again, since going to be so late. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Made meal plans for tomorrow Researched something for my youngest brother. He reached out to us for some help. Didn’t get to do anything else, except I will admit to 2 bad things. Watched a movie with DH. Not one that I would have chosen but it was very good. Called “Big Game”. We both liked it. I wish that he had not put the TV on as I let myself be sucked in. I was not going to turn it on but I don’t want to talk to him about this issue yet. And I truly feel it is my problem for letting myself get sucked in & sidetracked. The last couple weeks this has been happening. Before that I admit to the bad habit of rewarding myself when I get home from work late & stressed & exhausted— feeling like I deserve a break. But for the last couple weeks, I have been trying to change that and now it is DH who turns on the TV. I’m glad that I have you as a partner because I feel my willpower getting stronger. I know that I can do this. Must get some things done after work! The other thing I did really wasn’t that bad because I don’t socialize much & am rarely in the telephone for long time. Tonight on the way home for work, I was on the phone with friends for about an hour & a half. I actually missed my exit, and then just drove very slowly & then finally pulled over in a parking lot. Seriously, I very rarely do this type of thing. So, that was my bad. Those 2 things. Cd

Thank you cando , yes, I am feeling like I am doing a nice job turning this into a home rather a house. I keep seeing many things I wasn't seeing. Great news about the house not having a foundation problem! Can you imagine I found a third TV in the bedroom behind the stacked clothes on my dresser? It was a thin one, so it was completely blending in, but to think I hand THREE TVs in my bedroom, and we are NEVER watching TV there. Just goes to say how many useless things we have gathered in our place, making it a storage unit rather than living space. Hubby is seeing how much work is being done, and I encourage him to throw away things too. Of course, for my categories I still resist and I have to find it in me and dive into those categories soon! Get rid of clothes, papers, books, and craft supplies. January 5,2O23 1)Shine the sink. I do this at the end of the day. DONE 2)Wash the doggies' food and water bowls. 3)Run necessary errands. DONE 4)Take son's dog for a walk in the park. DONE 5)Write down notes for previous lesson. NOT DONE 6)Wash the trash bins (both kitchen and bathroom ones). NOT DONE 7)Fold the washed clothes, put them into their place. NOT DONE 8)Put another load of laundry. Hang clothes outside, when finished. DONE 9)Swish and swipe bathroom utilities. NOT DONE 10)Change the water/detergent into the mopping buckets. DONE 11)Prepare the meals of the day. DONE 12)Put a fresh blanket at the cat's den, the weather is getting colder soon. NOT DONE ***SELF CARE LIST*** 1)Brush teeth and floss. DONE 2)Comb hair, put softening product on hair edges. DONE 3)Clean face skin with new wipes, rinse. NOT DONE 4)Stick to dieting with soup. That will last 3 days. STARTING TODAY 5)Drink 3 glasses of water (morning, midday, afternoon) NOT DONE 6)Take a bath later in the day. NOT DONE

Good morning, Nael_C ! That's quite a list, but you've been making great progress on those lists. And, that is funny about having a 3rd (hidden) TV in your bedroom & that y'all don't watch TV in the bedroom. Well, I'm sure you were shocked when you found it and that it felt wrong, but it did tickle my funny bone. I hope you don't think that I'm laughing at you, tho. Just we all have these funny things happen that neat, organized people... well, I don't think they would understand and I am sure that DH & I have a lot of crazy surprises in store for us, too. I think that we only have one in our bedroom, but we don't watch TV in there, either. We used to many, many years ago, and truthfully, I would prefer for us to watch it in our bed rather than on the sofas in our den & falling asleep on the sofas -- that's what we've been doing. Not a healthy good habit... I know that we have all kinds of stuff wrong in our house. We will have to go thru a lot of stuff very soon as we need some plumbing repairs in 2 rooms in the walls. And, we also will be finally getting new flooring in almost my entire house... we have always had carpeting in the bedrooms, den, and hallway... but we will be going to a different type of flooring, now. I am a crazy person who actually loves wall to wall carpeting, but if we need to move & sell our home... most people no longer want carpeting. So...... As much as I want the carpeting, I have conceded. DH doesn't want carpeting, anymore, due to resale value of the home, etc. We will buy carpets to go over some of the floor. Right now, due to pipes bursting almost 2 years ago... we removed carpeting from part of our bedroom, the hallway & DS's old room. So, part of our house has concrete for floor.. Oh well, it will be resolved soon. We may have to move out while all this work is done, and or rent a pod to put our furniture and stuff in. More later as this work gets done. Btw, I am updating my post from earlier & then will go to sleep. CD

cando, no, we need to laugh at ourselves and our problems from time to time. I mean, we need to, seriously. Otherwise they would drive us crazy. I sometimes can't laugh, which makes me miserable. But it's not a bad thing to be able to laugh, that is for sure! And when I CAN laugh at myself and my situation, it is freeing and it is like offering me a breathing space and hope.

Yeah, that’s part of my problem making myself feel miserable about things but not doing anything about them. You have me motivated, Pardner!!
That’s great that you shine your sink everyday. There was a time I did that. Thanks for the reminder.
I need to gradually add your “beauty” routine or a similar type plan.
Do you make homemade soup or what type of soup(s) will you be having? Maybe I’ll do that too…

Good morning cando ! Homemade soup with: celery, canned tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, onions, broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, olive oil, fresh lemon juice. Every time you feel hungry you can eat soup, keeps the hunger at bay and detoxes the body, for up to three days. I didn't do much from my list yesterday, too tired from walking to run the errands, and came home late. But I did stick to the basics, shone the sink, took care of myself, etc. I am noticing a change in my sleeping habits, I sleep a bit better. Maybe I am feeling more relaxed that I am on my way to make the spaces a bit better, or am I more tired from doing the work? Anyway, I feel better overall. Got to try harder to drink more water, didn't keep to my water schedule yesterday. Today I am adding the things I didn't accomplish to the new list. HOUSE WORK 1)Prepare the meals of the day. DONE 2)Put on a load of laundry & hang clothes to dry afterwards. DONE 3)Wash the doggies' bowls, disinfect.Put back into their places. DONE 4)Wash the trash bin in both kitchen and bathroom. Disinfect. 5)Scoop the litter boxes. 6)Put fresh blanket in the cats' nesting place. Check the other and if it needs washing, gather and take for a wash. 7)Clean the bathroom utilities. Maybe better than just a swish & swipe if I can make it. 8)Dust the mantel, TV and TV stand in the living room. SELF CARE 1)Comb hair. DONE 2)Rinse face. DONE 3)Brush teeth. DONE 4)Floss. 5)Hydrate hands and feet before bed. 6)Take a warm bath. 7)Put mask on hair after bath and let it stay for 20 minutes. Then rinse. 8)Put nourishing cream on face skin. cando , glad to hear the issues at the floors are going to be resolved soon. That must had been frustrating to you and your hubby! Hugs and talk to you later! NC

Hugs and talk to you later! NC Nael_C Your soup sounds delicious! I might try something similar but for only 1 or 2 days & see how it goes. Especially after what all I consumed yesterday. Had a little binge during lunch when I had to go to a store to buy a couple things for work, yesterday. Grabbed some bad sugary items. Snack food like chocolate peanut butter wafer bars & a can of Diamond honey roasted almonds. I ate half the box of bars & a handful of almonds. I did finally stop myself from eating more & did not put them in my car to bring home. In fact, I left them in the extra office for the staff to eat. I don’t intend to eat anymore of them. Why did I do that?! It’s like I was possessed at the store when I bought them & especially when I ate them! Have no idea why I did it. Just wasn’t thinking about my goals. I have no idea really! Stress maybe? And last night, dinner at a steakhouse with DH. We had talked about how long it had been since we had a good steak a couple weeks ago. I had mentioned to him at the time that when he got this large payment from a client for a whole year of full time work, that he should choose when he wanted to go celebrate with a nice steak dinner. (It’s a long story re: his client). So, we ended up having 5 huge things to celebrate that happened in the last couple weeks & he suddenly chose last night. 1) the payment 2) getting car back that we had loaned to DS’s Fil. We finally got it back after about 4-5 months! Even if it was given back in bad condition, at least we finally got it back. Again, long story as this is someone that we knew in advance was not trustworthy but for peace & the family & the hope that people can change … we loaned it. So, we knew this was a possibility…and if he’d just been up front with us so that we’d know these things, but no! (Can’t get in drivers door so won’t pass inspection, poor repair of something that broke while he had it that we would have fixed but instead he had a friend or someone do it & they did a poor job that knocked the air conditioning out of whack & it’s not working— we will have to have that repair redone & now the air conditioning fixed, & he must have bumped it with another of his vehicles cause it has a paint mark on it & scrape where you can see down to the metal. This was a very nice car when we loaned it to him. However, even with inability to drive it right now & need to put it in the shop, we are thrilled to finally have it back!!!! 3) Finally not only got an Engineer out to our house but a great report. No need for foundation repair!! 4) yesterday, finally got a good plumber out, & he replaced & fixed the temporary repair that were made in Feb. 2021 when part of our house flooded due to 2 bursts from cold, bad weather & no electricity for a week. Yes, from about 2 years ago!!! 5) Last night, after work, I picked up DH & we went to the dealership & finally got another one of our vehicles back!! After about 3 months!! Had to have transmission replaced as we took it in a couple days before the warranty expired. We weren’t in a hurry for it when we dropped it off, but never believed it would be months before we got it back & suddenly no drivable vehicles at one point. This was a newer extra vehicle. They had to even bring us a loaner last week! Anyway, with supply issues they finally got the transmission in & were able to fix it. So, it was late, 8:30pm when we finally picked it up last night since I had to work late yesterday. Anyway, we got it back!!!! I could have been better at dinner, but I couldn’t resist the rolls!! That’s where I got into trouble and overate at Steak place, too. Special butter & oh my goodness-the rolls! I know what I should have done but my brain wasn’t functioning right. It’s ok to eat good food, but I could have immediately asked for a to go box & put half of my dinner in it at the very beginning but that thought never popped into my head. I was just hungry since it was about 9:15 when we finally got dinner. So crazily, mindlessly ate. Ghah! So late when we got home, went to bed before midnight. I did feed the dog first & give her meds & remembered to take out my contacts first. But really, yesterday was a “fail” for me as far as steps toward my goals. Sorry, Pardner. Didn’t even drink enough water. And I’m paying the price cause at 6 in the morning woke up feeling very sick. It’s 7:30 now & still not well. Woke up with tummy pain, headache, ear is full, nasal stuffiness. I’ll take some meds & hopefully will be able to go to work. Hoping for a better day today. You, my dear, have just been doing so incredibly well!!! Even sleeping & feeling better. (I had started feeling better too until this morning). And your home is already improving!! I’m so glad. I’ll get back on track today. I’m thinking you will get more energy after a bit. You’ve been doing a whole lot. Thinking your body needs to adjust. . Love & hugs, Cd

cando, sorry you had a headache and it continues. I hope you feel better soon! Massage on the temples, even using a drop of essential oil into Johnson's body oil, then use it to massage behind the neck and on both temples, I ask hubby to do it sometimes. Yesterday was not a Done All day for me either. I didn't finish the things on my lists, I find I don't have the time to finish all or I get out of energy before I finish them all. But don't want to make this stop me, so I try to think in terms of: I am improving, not hunting down the list. To keep me from feeling anxious. If I persist, I will eventually do the stuff I write, it may take more days, but they will be done.

Well, my plan went out the window. DH wants us to go floor shopping. I wish that I had gotten up at 6am & gotten exercise done. At 5am wasn’t feeling well classic bad symptoms. Body aches, nose, ears. Didn’t realize until a little while ago. Allergies or sinus issues. And forgot about the exercise I did yesterday, naturally I’m sore. So not a symptom of illness. I’m an idiot…
Oh well, DS wants to be with us & grandbaby may be going too. Haven’t been with them in quite a while cause my DS has been very sick for about a month. Just dropped off gifts & FaceTimed. They live an hour away. Each way an hour drive.
So I will take a shower first as I’m way past due on that. So, I am determined to fit at least 20-30 minutes of dancing or a cardio video in. It may be much later in day tho.
Darn! I finally made that schedule & now….
Hoping you are doing well.
Luv, CD

My plans went out the window too cando. So, I am giving amnesty to myself today. My children came home for dinner, we had a nice time together. The only things from my list that I could stick to and finish were: Shining the sink every day. Putting one or even two loads of laundry every day. Hubby did the patio cleaning. For the self care I had a warm bath, put nourishing mask to hair, and hydrating cream to hands and feet. Also, brushing teeth consistently. But diet is not going well, lots of sweets and snacking after midnight. Hugs, NC Not great, not bad either. It's about building

cando, thank you for the encouragement. But the reality is I don't think I am doing as well as I could. Feeling cranky today, yesterday I didn't shine the sink before going to bed, I'm feeling tired and low in energy. And I keep chastising myself that I am not doing enough, that the clutter is not being removed from the house, etc. Ugh... Don't want to do a list, I will instead try to implement the 15' minutes today. It gets to me that I don't finish the list from yesterday and I keep moving things to the next day and then the next sometimes. :/
