This morning, my DH & I got quite a lot done.
DH really did a lot.
Tadas:
Swiped Front bathroom toilet
Cleaned a part of front bathroom mirror
Cleaned part of the sink counter
Refilled soap container
Tossed empty powder box
Straightened sink counter items in front bathroom & put a few things in the front bathroom closet
Put away new hair comb clips that I bought the night before last.
Emptied front bathroom trash & replaced bags
A couple swipes of front bathroom floor
Put laundry load in washer
DH cleaned & straightened sink counter in kitchen & part of Entry Hall
Removed dust/hair from part of entry hall floor
Boxed up some stuff in entry hall to take to DDil. Sewing stuff from 3 legged stool/wooden storage piece.
DH loaded sewing machine w/table into our suv to take to DDil
Took 2 boxes & 1 bag to SUV for DDil
This was really huge as these have been taking up lots of space in our Entry Hall for the past 2 1/2 years! Brought here for my daughter. She had wanted it & changed her mind. Not going into it now, but I’m very saddened by my daughters words And actions of the last 1 1/2 years.
Anyway, my DDil wants it all & couldn’t take it to her sooner due to illnesses & car trouble.
We are both soo happy to have these items out of our Entry Hall!!!
Tossed old box of dog treats. Too old to give her the rest of them.
Tossed about 30 plastic lids & 7 plastic containers that have been sitting on kitchen sink counter. We had planned to wash & reuse them—- but have been there for so long we’re very, very dusty. Decided to just toss them.
Took to outside can: 4 cases for of nutritional shakes that were bought for my DDad in 2020/2021 before he had to get a feeding tube.
Tossed 1 big bottle of formula type food for feeding tube.
We had so wanted to give them away or donate them but couldn’t find anyone at the time & didn’t have much time to spend trying to find someone to give them to since my Dad was in & out of hospitals & rehabs & my Mom in different hospital at same time as him & then his death, funeral, moving my Mom from assisted living to group care home, my sweet big dog had seizures & trouble walking & we had to let her go at vets office, etc.
DH & I had really resisted throwing these away. They were in our Entry Hall & also took a lot of space.
DH tossed 2 bags & a 6 papers from ottoman in den
He also removed some medical supplies from ottoman that were bought for him months ago & put in Daughter’s old room/his office. ( a temporary location).
DH put 10 boxes by back door to be recycled.
DH cleaned up back patio some.
DH took big bag of ashes from grill, potting soil, & various other trash/debris to outside can
DH cut up old soaker hose & put in bag & then into outside can
1 empty box into outside recycle can
17 papers into recycle bag
Met with flooring person at our house. He went in every room & closet & took measurements. It was so embarrassing & humiliating!
He gave us some good recommendations & DH & I made some decisions before he measured.
But, I’m glad we did this as it is a positive step forward.
I will be taking off work some on Monday to go to his showroom to look at floor samples. And maybe even go ahead & order & schedule.
We have decided the following:
Carpet in our master bedroom
Tile in back bathroom
Either vinyl or laminate pergo type (looks like wood) flooring in 3 bedrooms, hallway, den, kitchen & dining room.
We are not replacing the floor in the front bathroom and in the laundry area.
Insurance will pay for all the bedrooms, back bathroom, hallways & den. Although we may be paying some extra for things like molding, thicker pad, baseboards, etc.
We will be paying for the kitchen & dining room floors.
After meeting with floor person, we headed to DS’s to celebrate his 32nd birthday. It is an hour drive away. On the way there had car trouble - transmission, again. Same vehicle we just got back about a week ago. After the dealership had it for 3 months… (it just had a new transmission put it in it). We had to get off the expressway.
DDil’s sister picked me up on her way to my DS’s house.
DH drove car back home. He made it ok. It will be towed from our home back to the dealership, tomorrow.
DH drove different car to DS’s house later.
Had great time with everyone!!
Had phone call Re: DMil. Not doing well, again. Might have to leave rehab & go to hospital tomorrow. Dr will be going to see her in the morning.
Sorry so long.
Bad dieting & not enuf water.
