Photographers are coming today to take the listing photos. I am tucking everything into hiding and doing the vacuuming thing to leave straight lines. I have opened the blinds. Sadly it is a rainy dreary day. Usually sunlight pours into this house.
OK - check in later

After a lot of back and forth I finally got some important legal paperwork pretty much taken care of. A few more steps, then wait for confirmation that it has been accepted.
Today the plumber is coming to do the water treatment system annual maintenance. He'll bring bags of salt too. Huge help since I cannot lift 40 lb. bags anymore and it seems the salt doesn't come in smaller bags. When it needs to be loaded into the tank DD1 helps me lift one and balance it on the edge of the tank while the bag empties.
DD1 and I have taken several more loads for donation. And yet it doesn't seem to make much of a dent. I took a partial walk thru the thrift store (not easy with 2 canes) the other day to see if I could find any of my stuff. I never buy which is good. It's really a huge store which is great to attract lots of customers. The only thing I found was a blanket. I knew it was mine because it had precious kittens on a pink background. It was still in the original packaging and they had left the original price on it. Not terribly expensive but I was surprised since I thought they would deeply discount things.
We hit the hoarded side of the family room over the weekend. Most of the stuff we trashed. Lots of dust and dirt. A tiny dead mouse. That's the third one found recently since we've been getting into cleaning out more crowded areas. Good thing we aren't squeamish. I ordered more humane mouse traps in anticipation of trapping again. This time I want to be ahead of them before they start having their little families. I walked around outside and located access areas that I will ask the handyman to cover. But it won't stop them. They find a way.

Andrea! Hi, wow, I haven't seen you around in a long time--how are you doing?
Good morning ohblondie and danny!
I just spent a while washing and cutting up zucchini to freeze, I still have some left to do. And that's with the zucchini plant not producing very much.
Next I'm going to work on the plant room--cleaning surfaces, straightening things up and sweeping the floor.

Danny, about the blanket--usually thrift store employees have a good feel for what sells and at what price, they probably think they can sell it for that higher price. When I volunteered at one I was surprised how good the long time employees were at pricing things and predicting what would sell fast and what wouldn't.

Diane yes it has been a long time! This past year has been extremely bad for me health wise and I let many things slack and needed to get back where I knew people would help and support me. Still dealing with extremely serious medical issues but things finally seem to be moving in the right direction. Hopefully getting back on here will help me get refocused on working on the house especially my room.

Andrea, it's very hard to keep up with house stuff when you're sick, hopefully things will improve and you can get things back on track. This is a good place to do that, for sure!
I did do a basic clean up of the plant room, although the floor really needs to be mopped one of these days. I had lunch, and the next project is going to be reorganizing the bedside table downstairs, which is just too full of stuff. I'll see if the dog wants to go out too although we went out late this morning.

Well the photographer has come and gone. It took longer than I thought. She took photos then did the virtual tour. She said the place looked wonderful and smelled great - whatever that means! She had me turn on the fireplace for the photos. She said it brought her back to her childhood - sitting in front of the fire. I think she thought the house had good energy so I hope it carries over to a new buyer.
My work continues though on getting the closets and garage emptied.
I have a car full of chairs - hmmm. Heading to storage to drop them off. One will come home with me as it goes with my desk.

Ohblondie, so when does she actually list it?
I reorganized my bedside table. The dog didn't want to go out yet, so I went outside myself and did half an hour of weeding and trimming so that the yard waste can would be full for this week's pickup. I still haven't mowed, and I won't tomorrow morning because I have to go to the library and pharmacy. Maybe Wednesday? Although it will be warmer then. The grass is soaking wet in the mornings, maybe on Wednesday it will be more dry.

We dumped out most of the kitchen onto the counters and floor. Only one cupboard has anything in it now. Wow, what a mess and too much stuff for sure. Not sure what will happen because of this tactic, but i have a large trash bag just incase.
