Good morning lennon and oust I woke up to a big inheritance( not mine) of dirty dishes this morning but I managed them by putting likes together. Then I washed and dried them..put them away. I also ran 1 load of laundry. I took the kitchen garbage out. I am enjoying the cool temperature of 61 this morning but we are expected to have a temperature of 78 as the high.

Morning everyone! I'm going to be away Tuesday to Thursday so a focus of today will be preparing for my trip with my mum. Workman is still here working on the bathroom which is taking shape, but it's hard to get into the spare room where my backpack, toiletries bag, etc. are so I'm hoping I can pack quickly tonight! Most of my clothes are set out, and I have a trusty packing list (I love a good packing list!). Cleaning out my handbag yesterday will also help a lot.
Done: Took clean laundry upstairs Took clean laundry upstairs 2 Put away laundry Treated washing machine seal with mould remover gel Watered lilies
To do: Wipe away mould gel Clear air dryer Finish packing Make sandwiches for travelling tomorrow Add dinner dishes to dishwasher and run it Achieve coffee table zero Achieve dining table zero Time dependent, clean fronts of kitchen cupboards as they are looking a bit dirty

Hi mylittlescholar Done: Clear air dryer Wiped down worktop appliances Wiped down shelving Threw out a few small miscellaneous items Wiped down top of microwave and items there To do: Wipe away mould gel Bag up laundry Finish packing Make sandwiches for travelling tomorrow Add dinner dishes to dishwasher and run it Achieve coffee table zero Achieve dining table zero Time dependent, clean fronts of kitchen cupboards as they are looking a bit dirty I'm thinking my next big project is going to be the understairs cupboard. It's just off the kitchen, which is lacking in storage and we don't have a utility room, so it could be really valuable if it were cleared out and able to have some shelving in it and actually be able to find anything in it. Having some garden storage would also be a big help for things like our ladder and toolbox though as we have nowhere else in the house to keep these!

Moving slowly this morning. Originally there were workers coming every day this week. Cancellations by me or the handyman (he was in the ER yesterday with his back) mean I now have an open week.
Yesterday I went to the grocery store rather than finishing the front staircase. Where I shop is a large maze of businesses as part of a planned community that prioritizes walking everywhere. It was Octoberfest which meant that roads were shut off, police were directing very crowded traffic and parents, kids, strollers, dogs and old people with canes were all over the place. It was a perfect day for the festival and I enjoyed seeing everything while I waited for the cars to have their turn moving.
Today I will finish the stair landing.

Good morning, I am moving over to the right place!
He needs to cut things in the garden
Reve, does he mean he needs to be outside with his table saw cutting materials? Or that he needs to reroute plumbing lines or something more major? I'm sure you'll be happy when it's all finished!
I'm pleased with myself, despite trying to talk myself out of it this morning I went out at 8am sharp and mowed the grass. I did the front, side, and the alley strip, and then decided to finish the parts of the back that don't have plants overhanging on them. So it is done! Then I had to take the dog out, who peed but did not have a BM and insisted she was done and wanted to go in. So I brought her in and fed her breakfast, and I'm sure in a very short while she will be ready for her BM.
It was very chilly outside so that made it easier, but I'm still tired. I will need to do sitting down things for a while. Except for taking the dog out again.

Yes Diane, out with an electric saw in the garden cutting wall panels. When I came down at lunchtime, half of the wall was on, and he was asking a little while ago about splashback, so I think things are proceeding well.
Done: Made sandwiches Bagged laundry Achieved dining table zero Wiped down dining table Wipe away mould gel Scrubbed at the washing machine door and cleaned the gunk off with the help of The Pink Stuff Wiped up the laundry liquid all over the kitchen floor after I knocked the very full spare bottle while getting The Pink Stuff out
To do: Finish packing Add dinner dishes to dishwasher and run it Achieve coffee table zero Time dependent, clean fronts of kitchen cupboards as they are looking a bit dirty

I'm getting really annoyed at the family of the next door neighbor. The guy who actually owns the house is great, he's very nice, considerate, and takes good care of his dogs. He has his girlfriend and 3 family members living with him. When he's not home, they take care of the dogs, and they leave them out for hours at a time. Yesterday they left the really old pug outside for a long time, luckily it was cool--not too hot and not too cold. One time earlier this summer when it was hot I had to go over and knock on their door because the old pug was left out in the sun breathing like she was going to have a heart attack.
Anyway, my dog finally wanted to go out, but all three dogs had been out next door for 2-3 hours. They had started their occasional barking to be let back in. None of these dogs seem to like being left outside alone, they always bark after 20 minutes outside. So I get her down the stairs, and the dogs are barking at her like crazy, including the dog who likes me. She started trembling and didn't want to do anything. I waited a while, figuring surely they would hear the dogs barking and come and get them. No. So I had to take her back up the stairs, wait for her to calm down, then put her leash on and take her back down the front stairs so she could have her BM in the front yard. Then back up the stairs.
I'm sure this is why no one stopped the crazy Halloween sounds over the weekend, I'm guessing the guy was working or maybe he's out of town or something.
The good news is that I reached the insurance agent and he explained some things to me about the cheaper policy, what the down side is and how the company is still in the process of merging with another company so different policies are coming from different places. He's going to finalize the policy and send it via email so I can approve it online and get it started. That's a big load off my mind.
The mowing this morning reactivated my knee pain, so I'm limping around here, I think I'm going to do something simple like email deletion.

Aww Diane, that is a shame that they leave the old pug outside for so long, even if it is not a hot day. Lots of extra steps for your own dog too, when their barking scares her and she can't perform. I did do the dailies and realized that the cat pans were not tidied yesterday so they really needed it today. But now they are done. I did take down the trash and unloaded the DW. Some wiping down the fridge inside too, but it needs more anther day. I tried again with a new lemon to obtain seeds to plant for an indoor plant, but again---it was a seedless lemon. Maybe they are all seedless nowadays ? How annoying. And to top it all off, while I was cutting it up, I sliced my thumb and it wants to keep bleeding now !! It is said they we will have rain this afternoon, but right now, it s sunny and cool. Wishing all a good day--- catcats

while I was cutting it up, I sliced my thumb
When I read this I got a chill because I can imagine not just cutting your thumb but having lemon juice go into it--ouch, ouch! Interesting about the lack of seeds. I keep reading in pollinator forums that you have to be careful to avoid "cultivars" of pollinator plants--they breed plants for different things like color or size, but they also breed some to specifically not produce pollen, because the pollen falls down onto leaves and people think it's messy! But pollen is what the pollinators eat! So who knows what they're breeding for these days.
I got another call from my shopping friend! She's about the same, she still hasn't had the discussion with her power of attorney and the facility about where she has to plan to go when she gets out of the skilled nursing area. They don't think she'll be able to go back to independent living, but instead go to assisted living. It kind of depends on how long Medicare will continue to pay for the skilled nursing section, which depends on how much progress she's making in her therapy.
