Contents of 2 little boxes ~ new house keys, more new socks (but also one sock that has a mate waiting for it on the desk, yay), crystal and motivational metal bracelets, human and animal nail clippers, some small prepper items from Covid buying, pharmacy items from Covid buying (expired and tossed ), arthritis compression gloves, little craft items I made, new little containers of dental floss.
I have been meaning to start a bag of unopened personal hygiene things to put in the donation box at church. I will quit *meaning to* and DO IT later this evening.
Screw the wait, I will start it NOW.

~~~~~~~~~~ this is why I tell people to try to work on dehoarding a little bit every day or at least a few times a week, because if you start realizing how much stuff you have and then don't think about it for a long time, you pretty much have to start over. Because time has passed by and you forget the feeling of--wow, I really have too much stuff--and you think, well, it's not so bad. These moments of realization (even though they can feel bad) build on each other and bring you to motivation to change it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You are exactly right, Diane!! Most of the time I get overwhelmed, then stick my head back in the sand. Keeping at dehoarding, while hard, will give the forward movement we need. Like with the stairs ~ once a section is done it feels so good! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been doing a few things here and there in between resting my back and knee, they are bothering me today. Feel better SOON! ~~~~~~~~~~ Seed collection is very time consuming but it's such an amazing feeling to know that some of the plants you grow next year are from the plants you grew this year. That is so cool! You have to be very knowledgeable to do everything involved with that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also called the animal hospital to confirm that yes, I have an actual scheduled appointment for Friday. Excellent!

Scholar, congrats on starting to work on your taxes!
And danny, congrats on finishing the staircase--don't you want to keep going back to look at it?
This was not a very productive day, I briefly thought about going to Walmart tomorrow because after that there are 5 days with possible showers. But I just don't think I can do the walk tomorrow, and believe it or not, I still am not desperate for anything. Well, I always wish I had fresh produce, that only lasts a number of days after a shopping trip, but obviously I can live without it.
Good night everyone, see you in the morning!

So I thought I responded earlier but I guess not
Danny15 you inspired me to work on my stairs tonight. My DH did me a huge favor this morning so I promised him I would work on the stairs. I sorted out piles of mail in general piles. I do need to go through and shred a great deal of it. I also tried to eliminate some boxes. I didn't totally clear it out but I got a chunk done
I also did some work in the bedroom. I decided that tonight I would work on pants. So I dug into a pile and found my good work pants. I hung them up in the doorway of the bathroom and started matching up some shirts to get outfits ready. when I can't find something I start buying replacements. Tonight I found the basics. Now to weed out what doesn't fit right Then on to skirts
I am also thrilled that I treated myself to a decent pair of tweezers and decluttered the random hairs from my chin. They were getting out of control and I feel so much better!!
Ok. Heading to bed

Good morning all!
decluttered the random hairs from my chin.
Ohblondie, sometimes it's the little things that are the most annoying!
I'm determined to get some things done today. My sleep was okay, not great--the dog didn't have to go out, but I didn't go to bed til later since we had another "dog in the yard" incident so I didn't even try to take her out until they took him in at 9:00, and then I woke up at 1:30 and couldn't go back to sleep until 3:00.
The good thing is that while trying to fall back to sleep I finally finished a 460 page book about 9/11--the best one I've read on this subject, it is interviews with people but instead of each interview presented in full, the chapters are about very specific moments and there are short quotes from many people about that topic. So, it's not 460 pages of solid print, but it took me a while to read anyway. It goes into depth by talking to all kinds of people affected and was really informative--the title is The Only Plane in the Sky.

Good morning scholar and decade!
Have fun organizing your bookshelves, decade! And remember, you can always revise it later on!
The dog wanted to go out, it's actually kind of warm in the sun, the high today is supposed to be 65 so, so much for the forecast that said nothing over 60 for the week.
Next:
10 minutes on first floor 10 minutes on seed collecting 10 minutes cutting down boxes

Leaflets and old town atlas added to the "not relevant to my life" pile.. Just uncovered two by my old passports from the collection of maps, looking at that young face in the passport photo of nearly 30 years ago, and at the visa stamps of past adventures..A new holiday is overdue😎 I realised I'm wearing a top in the 1997 photo that I still wear "as best"..so, one more sentimental flick through and they go.

I had lunch, fed the dog and put away my Walmart order. I love my bat tray! It's not a cheap plastic one, it's "earthenware." I'm going to use it on top of a bookshelf to hold little odds and ends that otherwise get lost.
Next I'm going to work on the big pile of dishes that need to be washed.
