As I was doing laundry today I tossed a few of DH's socks and underwear that had seen better days. Also tossed some debris that was on the kitchen counter.

"I'm tossing this for Meme." That is my new motto when I purge more papers, and anything else I come across in the future. What an impact she made on all of us. She will never be forgotten.

Meme said, "Thank God I did what I could when I did." I had internet repairmen in this week and had the living room clean so they could get to my desk. I was mortified when they needed to locate all the jacks in my apartment and had to climb over boxes in the dining room. When they went into my bedroom, I was too embarrassed to even go back there with them. I don't even know if they were able to find the jacks in there. Meme worked so hard so she wouldn't leave a mess for others to clean up. I want to do the same.

I filled 2 trash bags of clothes that were ruined or outgrown and filled a donation box of kids clothes also. Much more to come this week from me! Rip meme

Today My old computer went otd. sil will get my photos off for me, then take it to recyle. I am filling bins with its old original packing foam and box. from 8 yrs ago. I will put it here - I helped my dd not take an old outdated toy for her dd. It is still here. but its not cluttering up her own attempts to declutter. I count that as a win for her sake. I think we are both getting ready to release it.

In honor of Meme, I put 2 old Tupperwares into the recycle bag. They were too sad-looking to use again, but I kept them for years because... well because they're Tupperware... isn't there a law against throwing away Tupperware? WWMD? (What would Meme do?) Decided there is no law against RECYCLING Tupperware. Thanks Meme, for your wisdom.
I posted this in my blog today.

I just found this thread this evening. Quite shook up about this. Went to the candle site and that is very emotional indeed. Don't know what to say. But I was always touched by Meme's posts and I will never forget her.

Have decided that some ancient family heirloom dresser scarves just have too many issues to be used any longer. Tomorrow I will respectfully cremate them.

Cross-post: Today I threw out one thing for Meme -- and followed that up with a whole box-full. These are cassette tapes -- dDad taped his records, has hundreds of those, which are now corralled and under control, but he also bought tapes by the hundreds, also different plastic boxettes to store them in. If my dad didn't record them himself (i.e., the label is in his handwriting) OUT it goes. OUT. But the first thing out was my videotape of Ghostbusters. I no longer have a video player, I have a dvd player. That tape is not a memento, it is a replaceable something I can no longer use. OUT. For Meme!!!!

In honor of Meme, I have bagged up three large trash bags of video taped movies and getting rid of them. Also, going through and pitching a lot of 'stuff' laying around in the basement. It feels GOOD to purge. RIP, Meme. God Bless.

Thank you, Meme. Yesterday, I gave a French coffee press, a pretty teapot, two iron skillets, and, an electric ice cream freezer to a neighbor, who was very glad to have them. When I gave the things to him, I felt a twinge, that old pull to hold on to things, and then, I turned the dial inside, to freedom. I am smiling more.
Every day, something out.
