Today I moved DH's crutches out of the house
Oh I'm sorry ima, that had to be difficult.
Hi entropy, please do join in--and I don't know if your task is conducive to this, but I've found that it's almost impossible for me to tackle big jobs unless I break them down into lots of tiny steps. I sit and write out every little, baby step I can think of, which not only makes me mentally review what's necessary to do the job (thereby making it less scary) but it also lets me commit to doing one step a day, or something like that. I always feel like I can face one little step, instead of thinking about the whole job, which paralyzes me. Then sometimes once I start I end up doing several steps at a time--and even if I don't, it will eventually get done if I do one at a time.
Today I have a busy workday so I don't think I'll get to any procrastinated items, but I will tomorrow!

imamess, I knew your loss was fairly recent, but wasn't sure when. I'm really sorry. My marriage was short, and not good, but I did love him. I cannot imagine what it is like losing someone you've been with a long time. (...gentleness...)

Thanks Diane and Mouseanne! It's been worse than hard, almost like I've betrayed him. (I know it's silly because he will always be in my heart) I've been sick all week in more ways than one. I'm feeling a little better now and need to sweep the floors and find the loveseat. I use it as a staging area for things to go out of the house and that has to stop. I've been so down and out I haven't even turned the air on. It's 94 now and rising, so I'm going to turn it on, shut the windows and the door and do a couple of things inside for a change.

Hello, wow it felt Ssooooooooo good to finally set to work on a job I'd been procrastinating about since the autumn..:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) First the excuse of the cold weather put me off, Then telling myself I needed to find out how best to do it Then thinking maybe I didn't have the tools for the job Then prioritising the garden/allotment Then decideding the house needed completely sorting..... ........ But Finally Today I put up most of the decorative tiles surrounding an ugly area around a window outside. ...Yes i was still at it when the sun went down. ... And yes I still have more tiles to put up BUT somehow this seems like a Good Omen. ,,,. I've accomplished something new,, made the window look lovely ,, and felt good having done a job I'd been putting off for months... "Onwards and upwards" as they say .. Right now feeling as if Anything is Possible...
I'm liking the idea of attacking procrastination items,, I know which two I've got lined up to attack next .. Almost too excited to sleep :-D

It's 94 now and rising,
Ugh, yes, I would say it's time for the air. It's just so hard to work when it's hot, there are days when you can only feel comfortable sitting in front of the air conditioner or a fan.
Decade, doesn't it feel great to get an old job out of the way? Good work on the tiles--and I look forward to your next procrastination item.
I guess I can count getting my old file cabinet out, although it was only a few weeks ago that I decided that I could try to do without it. It was an old, cheap cabinet that had drawers that didn't work very well, so I didn't even have files in it--I used it to store extra office supplies and similar items. I've been purging and consolidating those items and today I dragged the cabinet out to the alley for the scrap metal collectors to take. And the great thing is that it's the first time that I've gotten rid of a piece of furniture with no plans to replace it with something else--there will just be a little more space on that wall now.

Thats a brilliant celebreatory moment dtesposito . To get rid of a bulky bit of furniture, and to KNOW that it won't need a replacement.. I'm not sure where I got the enthusiasm from today, but having loved the feeling from yesterday of achieving a long-term procrastination item I went for it today.--- three items ticked off the list. Ok two of them were half ticked off due to technical difficulties.. It's good when there are visible lasting results, like the space freed up from the filling system. I now have oddles of space freed up in the bedroom after hacking into the divan bedbase to use the space there, my kitchen sink has fresh clean sealant around it, (no more looking at manky edges round the sink) and the mirror tiles are mostly all up around my lounge window. We all get these mad bursts of energy when the brain is whizzing, and nothing seems impossible,, and I want to use it to the max. I know it won't last too long, and procrastination will again reign supreme

procrastination will again reign supreme
Yes, we have to keep it at bay!! I wanted to post about last week before I forgot what I did. I finally transferred a bag of bird seed into glass jars, to avoid grain moths. I cleaned up an area of the bedroom where I keep current clothing, after being annoyed with how nonfunctional it was for a couple of months. And, I got the cats in for annual checkups, something I've been meaning to do since the beginning of this year! I have to do better at keeping this thread visible on the first page because then I remember to keep doing these overdue things. Diane

I think I skipped a week--but today I did an item for this week, I put a bunch of phone numbers into the cell phone I bought quite some time ago--these are numbers of pet care clients that I only talk to occasionally or former clients I stay in touch with. Procrastinated on this for months, and now it's done.

Just found this thread for the first time. Great idea for topic!
I need to figure out how to get my Fitbit re-synced to My Fitness Pal. Have to read help online. Has not been connecting for weeks.

This week I will do something I have been putting off all summer. Earlier in the summer I hired a boy to wash the vinyl siding on my house. He did not do a good job and didn't even get the windows clean. The ladder is outside from picking grapes Saturday, so I will move it to the back of the house and clean the kitchen and bathroom windows properly and also clean a spot under the eave that had a hornet's nest. I got rid of the nest, but the spot is still there.

Today I finally called the sales department of my cable company to switch my service, after contemplating it for weeks and trying to reach non-sales people by phone and chat, with bad results. It really was not a bad experience, I got a decent person on the line, I think I remembered all the questions to ask to make sure there will be no surprises on the bill. I will end up getting better service and faster internet for just a small amount more than I'm paying now, so I'm very relieved that that job is finally done!

I have been uber procratinating EVERYTHING. This may not be the right thread, but thinking about this thread has been motivating me.
1. Yesterday morning, I moved about 12 hanging garments off the bedroom door to their proper place. Yesterday morning, I unloaded the DW & put all the DW-able things in it. Since, I've continued putting the dirty things "away". 2. This morning before work, I folded/put a steam/whites load that had been hanging out on my bed probably a couple of weeks.
3. I hand washed some things this morning. One was a very dusty deco item unpacked 2-3 months ago. An ice cream scoop (wood handle) couple weeks on counter. An antique spatula, couple weeks on stove. Mixer beater, on counter several weeks. Fry pan-dishwasher reject from last week. Yesterday's wood handled knife.
Upcoming - re-zero bath & kitchen Change Bed
Major Procrastination - work on customizing closet. (All my hanging things are in cardboard wardrobes in another room.) Silly ole rabbit.
Pre-customize closet. Clear a path.
