Friday I made a trip I had put off all summer to buy hay rings for the farm and stop by the saddle shop with three finished purses to sell. I saved nearly $500.00 on the hay rings, sold two of the purses for $35.00 each and traded the last purse for all the leather I could carry. I had a fantastic lunch purchased by the cousin who went along for the ride. I had a wonderful day and now have a firm market for my purses. It makes me wonder why I put the trip off for so long.

Previously, I used two outdated (over less than 1 year) cans. This weekend, I used 7 more.

I love this thread. I really need to make this a weekly thing--in January I'll make a ticker for 2017 so I try to do something for it every week.
In the last few days I got two long procrastinated items over with--cleaning the ladder that my pigeon uses to perch on, and making some cardboard "shelves" for it to keep it clean, and making the long walk to the UPS store so I could return cable equipment to the company without having to pay for shipping. Returning the equipment was a 2-month procrastination. I'm so glad to get that box out of my LR!

While running water in a barrel to haul to the barn I cleaned out the truck, rolled up ratchet straps and put in zip lock bags, found a grocery bag and put all paper refuse in it. I've worked all week to prepare for winter, putting things that will freeze in the basement, wrapping the pump house, draining the sprayer at the farm, buying extra horse hay and stacking it in the barn, buying bulk feed and scooping 350 lbs into 50 lb. sacks while it was warm so I don't have to do that during this cold snap and anything else I could think of to prepare for the first hard freeze tonight.

Ima, it sounds like you're doing good proactive work, instead of procrastinated work!
I'm posting a TO-DO today, I must get an invoice finished to turn in tomorrow, so that I can get a check to deposit, my checking account is scraping the bottom of the barrel! I'm hoping that saying I'll do it today means I will feel obligated to DO IT TODAY.

Ima, it sounds like you're doing good proactive work, instead of procrastinated work!Diane When the temperature is suddenly going to be below freezing and you have put off all those things for weeks, suddenly all those jobs that HAVE to be done start staring you in the face. I'm finally more comfortable with the outside preps for winter that should have been done the first week in October. This week (Sunday thru Wednesday for me, as I'm going to dd's for Thanksgiving) I'm going to concentrate on the house, only leaving for a once a day run to the farm to feed and a short genealogy trip Tuesday afternoon. I made great strides today although anyone else couldn't tell by looking at the lr & kitchen now. I'm going to keep going on this for a while tonight and tomorrow start again.

This weekend used up 7 more cans, made Hamb Soup & Chili both using freezer pre-prepped hamb. That shelf is very closed to cleared out. I've started sticking the baking things in there, too. I started to use a glass meas cup to drain a can of beans, and discovered weevel adults and larva in it. Gah! They had falled out of a bag on the shelf above. culprit: cornmeal. Tossed. I used to be OCD about putting all grains in sealed containers. Lots of friends just stick open bags on the shelf, so I thought I was overdoing, and stopped being so careful/compulsive. Guess I'll go back.
The bath curtain/shower curtain were getting dingy, took down, ran through wash. Decided I wanted to detail dust the bath prior to hanging up. Did the detail dusting this morning. Changed overhead bulb that's been out for weeks. Washed the globe. Saw lots of dust & webs near ceiling, so feather dusted those, & flicked off everything that fell from that.

Dried & hung the bathroom curtains.
These are lace. Well the glue looking poylester that passes for lace these days. Ha! anyway. Do you ever struggle to put filmy curtains on those flat metal tube rods with prickly ends? I put all the curtain on the larger of the two, and I wrap a kitchen baggie around it, or cling wrap. Helps a lot. Do we have a tips & tricks thread?

I did some things I was procrastinating on the past few days.
I FINALLY planted the rootbound passion vine plants along the fence in the back yard. These had been sitting in full sun as they grew from little plants to big flourishing blooming plants, and were outgrowing their pots. It had been time - but now finally they are out along the fence. I bought them for the butterflies to have their caterpillars grow up on. They look great out there. One is better than the other. But I am sure that now that they are free of their pots, they will go back to thriving.
Today, my mom was eager to do the Christmas trees. So we set up those and used some ornaments on the two small ones which I relocated to the living room for the holiday season. I thought the bigger one would look nicer in the family room, where we can enjoy it more easily.
Also, I finally got started on my wordpress blog. It has 10 starter pages - which I *could* simply delete. However, I like the idea of having them filled out, used instead as background, until now, parts of my blog. I have written 4 of them, when I finish the other 6, I will go live. I am so happy to have finally gotten going on that. They are all dated, interestingly the day that I bought the blog, or domain, or whatever you call it. In April. Nice to have that going. I am feeling SO good right now.
And the other thing that I need to stop procrastinating on is getting out there to Rideshare drive. At this point, I am procrastinating. I had wanted to go out and feel like I was being competent in having things done, but now, I think I am simply procrastinating. It is amazing the number of things I can find to do *first, and then I will go out there...* - yep, procrastination now.

i forgot about this great thread - WTG Serendipity and notanotherdecade for getting things done that you were procrastinating. i've been procrastinating everything as usual but this thread is bookmarked so i hope to report success in putting away/hanging up stuff that i threw down everywhere. i feel stuck and overwhelmed so i like these threads that challenge us to do ONE thing. to do: pick up clothes, shoes and other things i did not put away this week, out of rushing around and layzeeness

Yay 🙂 finished those pesky forms for this weeks' interview much pondering on how to answer that awkward question of reasons for leaving previous employment ..... I can reward myself now with allowing myself to sort the washing up out, a crisp sandwich, and a session at the allotment, whilst thinking up reasons why I shall be a wonderful employee. .... I'm hoping the stammering doesn't start, it has a habit of appearing at unexpected times......
I can't believe I actually described the washing up as a reward
