Mouseanne, thanks so much for reviving this thread, I keep thinking about it but never actually go and find it so I can post. I need to keep this idea front and center because I, too, keep putting off little things that just hang around forever. Let's keep trying to get rid of these "hangers-on" items!

dtesposito, I know your original intent was to accomplish bigger put off for a while things. I'm also using it for DING! (Do it now, Girl/Guy!) for all the little bits that we set down for later, whoever later is. Later is really slacking at my house, never comes and does his jobs.

Paid my credit card bill today. It will just make it in time. I've put it off for 10 days. The very next bill I plan to pay as soon as I get it.

imamess YAY for bringing in W/D!! I have a pileostuff on the bar table, which is sort of stuck in the kitchen. Ultimately, it will go in the sewing room as it works great height wise for me to rotary cut on. Some of the pile is newly unpacked deco items, some have just been there a while. Sunday, I moved 3 boxes never unpacked out of the kitchen. They arrived via the dining room, which I zeroed, and is no longer zero. DR no longer zero cuz I started staging in there, and also set up about 20 shoeboxes of sorted fabric on the table & a card table. This morning, I hand washed a set of newly (2 mo ago?) unpacked 4 antique mixing bowls (Bauer-wedding gift to grandma somewhere around 1929) and another set of 3 antique mixing bowls. This set is tulip fire king & were given me by a friend, at the time I had tulip wallpaper in my kitchen. I want to set the fire king on the glass shelves of the kitchen etigierre for display. The Bauer probably display on the buffet. It doesn't have a hutch on it. Problematic, the large one has a long vertical crack & it really isn't up the to the weight of the inner three. Also hand washed the new used copper kettle. All are draining in the clean dishwasher. I have 3 or 4 more boxes to move out of the kitchen. One box is canned goods & the rest are mostly never unpacked tupperware. Take the gardening bucket to the basement, move the empty winejug to the garage, outdoor slides to the bedroom, one piece of lumber out & the floor is clear, ready to sweep & mop. I'm really not far from a clean kitchen. Wouldn't it be wonderful if more zeroes followed?

I have never completely unpacked my kitchen from moving here 3 yrs ago. No further action taken, however I did some mental work, and made some decisions on where some things will go. For a dyed in the wool procrastinator, decision making is definitely part of the equation. Go me!

moved 4 baking tins started sorting contents of a divided drawer
I have cooking utensils in a 6" deep drawer and plan to move them into the divided drawer. Hmm. Also in the deep drawer are my hot pads. There are two really deep drawers that have fabric in them. one is rags & rugs. The other is aprons, tea towels, kitchen hand towels, napkins, dish cloths. Both are full when all the laundry is done. I thought using the 6" drawer for plastic ware was a good idea, you know the 4-6 cup size, but now I don't know what I will do with the hot pads.
Wait, there is a cupboard in my kitchen that was on my old house back porch. I called it the cat cupboard. The cats ate on it, and the dog/cat food was in the doors. Now in the doors are my 3 lunch pails (dif sizes) and gardening things The drawer is just a hardware, mouse trap (new), random stuff. Not exactly junk, but not really kitchen. I can clear the drawer out for kitchen things. The cupboard is in the corner, the portable dishwasher parks next to it, then the stove, so that is a great place for both potholders and cooking utensils. There are lots of drawers dunno, maybe 12 or more, in the dining room. Some of the random things can go there, and the hardware can go in the laundry room cupboards.
Thanks for listening, talking it through here helped me make a decision!

mouseanne WTG on getting those things put away AND on making decisions. I am beginning to think that decisions count too. Today I got busy unpacking or at least partially. Yes the suitcases have been laying on the floor for 3 weeks. I started and then stopped. Today, I took more things out of them and put them away. I also did a DING - I went ahead and ordered the cabinets for the bathroom. I did want to think about it a week or so, but then yesterday it was like Do It Now, Girl! So I did. I want to get things finished. So I am making a plan. I am sure that I will tweak it as I go along. I do have things scattered on the table too. I feel like I need to get things finished so that my mind will be clearer. I just put the last 4-5 items away from the little carry on!

Saturday morning at 3a.m. I went through the spice cabinet and threw away most of my spices. They were all old. The resulting room helped the clutter on the cabinet below a lot. I was able to put a few glasses away and rearrange other items.
I've been thinking about cleaning out the 2 junk drawers that I have in the kitchen for several years now. Maybe this week???

Cosy in bed while the bonfire night fireworks are going off It seems an excellent opportunity to start going through the hundreds on emails stacked up in the inbox Lots come under the heading of worthy-reading so I'm not going to delete unread. I don't esp want to watch the displays in town, and I got my fresh air and sunshine this afternoon while tidying up and sorting out stuff for the skip at my allotment.. Glad i faced the chilly outside today, and I've been putting off the email sort out for months. So feels a real win on the anti procrastination front

Quilts. For some reason I tend to get to almost done and stop. I made a quilt top several weeks ago. Still needed last border. Pressed 1st border, trimmed seam allowances, it was plaid and varied my widths so I could match corners. Trimmed to consistent width. Cut last borders, attached, Pressed, squared corners. It's folded on the flimsy pile.
