PS was proactive and posted her list last night!
Lennon, thanks for being so steady about starting the threads!
Good morning! I have to take the dog out in 15 minutes and will make sure I dress warmly, but I have a feeling she'll hurry up and do what she needs to do and come back in right away. It's 12 degrees and the forecast is that it will stay at 12 degrees across the day.
I hope this will be a great week for everyone!

Hi Everyone!!! Thanks for getting the week started lennon!!! The kitties spent their first night together and not separated since the house disaster. I tried to get them situated as I did not want to have to get up to deal with issues in the middle of the night before a work day but they dodged and ducked and ran under stuff and sat under the bed together and i was like well - fine just behave. They seem to have behaved or else I slept through it but I dont think so. And i spoke to soon - evidently trouble in the morning after I saw them and they were all happy. Got to go check it out. Back: I have no idea but they all looked fine. I dont know what is causing the issue now. I never see it when i am in room with them except once i saw upset kitty swat the other kitty. We will just keep going.

Oh TML, that's great news! There will probably still be spats but after a while they'll remember that they love each other!
I took the dog out, as expected we weren't out there long. I put unfrozen water out for the birds and they immediately started coming to drink. I felt bad because there were squirrel tracks going up to the water bowl but then it was still frozen--I hope the squirrels come back for water quickly because it will freeze again soon.
Okay, now breakfast and day planning so I get something done today.

Super busy weekend.
I spent a good chunk of the day on Saturday and Sunday - doing a deep clean of our apartment - the one we rent out and that my DD lived in. DH called the wife of the electrician to have her come and clean. I think she couldnt be bothered. His tools are all over and there is dust from the sanding and such all over.
I spent a couple of hours friday and saturday wiping down the walls, wiping down the woodwork (there is so much of it - it is an older home and they are stained not painted and just beautiful). Saturday I started on the bathroom and kitchen. I wiped down the upper kitchen cabinets. The fridge had so much crap in the bottom that had congealed. I took all the shelves and drawers out and scrubbed. DH had to take the brackets (drawer slides) out of the bottom so I could get the last of it out. Wow - I never had an appliance suck the life out of me like that did! But it sparkles now. I also used my shark floor steamer to work the Murphy's oil soap into the floors. the bedrooms looked so good when I was done. I also wiped the inside of the windows - cant get outside as I am not scrambling on a ladder, in the snow and cold, with no help. Sunday. I finished up most everything including the stove. It was quite gross on the top - so much cooked on gunk. I used SOS pads and cleaner to get the inside clean and the window on the oven door clean. That door/window was filthy and required serious scrubbing.
My steam cleaner gave up the ghost and stopped heating up the water and sending out the good puffs of steam. I am not sure if it is fixable or if I need a new one.
So I just need to do a quick swipe in the bathroom and mop the bathroom floor, a quick touch up on the bedroom floors (where my steamer died). Then wipe down the kitchen walls and cabinets (there is just dust in there) and wipe down the counters and appliances and steam clean the floor. Then wipe down the walls and woodwork in the LR and DR and steam clean the floors.
I figure it will have taken me about 12 hours total to do the cleaning. It was really deep cleaning in parts as there was "schmutz" on the bedroom floors that I had to get on my hands and knees to clean, as well as the filthy stove and fridge. I think the cleaner would have charged anywhere from $500 - $1000 to clean.
DH has been spending so much time there painting and fixing things that I now feel like I did my part to help.
Frustrating part is - we both spent hours there every day doing the work, then we come home and DH is "resting" and watching football and I am doing laundry and dishes and such. But this has motivated em to get my act together (again). Though I keep a much cleaner house than my daughter. I am continually wiping out my fridge and microwave and stove. I scrub my toilets more often and clean the bathrooms more often. You just cant see the clean for all my hoarded mess. UGH
I was so sore last night I took one of my DH's prescription muscle relaxants!
Over the weekend I found my mom's Christmas sweatshirt that she told me to donate but later didnt remember she told me that. I could not bring myself to donate it so I had put it in a safe spot. this weekend I found the safe spot! Hurray - and I also found a pair of black pants she was missing! Now I think the sweatshirt is i the car - I hope the pants are there as well!
I got Valentine's day decorations up at my parents. I found a cute tall and skinny table that fits in the corner of their doorway perfectly. So there are some holiday gnomes outside their door (with a small mailbox for cards), taller gnomes on their small desk, small gnomes on another small table and a medium one in their small room. The little bit of red and white from the gnomes really brightens up their apartment. My dad counted 7 gnomes that were in his line of vision, while in his chair. He got a kick out of them. Just wait til the St Patrick's day gnomes come out!
Tonight I go back and help my mom shower. I will change their sheets at the same time.
OK - off to get more work done.

cando, thank you for the compliment. I just say I am a stubborn Swede (2nd gen on Dad's side) . I was so sick at one point that I lost all energy. I couldn't even interact here. While I truly am grateful for getting better. I have lost patience with how long it is taking. Which also brings up fears about what if this is the healthiest I become. I was awake by 9 am again, just not really functional. Progress!

I need to stop worrying about the outside animals. I kept looking out the window and saw some birds perch on the edge of the water bowl and then fly away, which means the water was frozen. So I couldn't stand it any longer and went out to refill the bowl. By the time I had come in the house and looked out the kitchen window, there were 2 birds drinking. I think I need to stop looking out the window.

peaceseeker I am sure you will slowly progress. It just takes time and sometimes it seems like endless time. I complain about now and how long it has taken and how much farther i have to go then something happens that reminds me of how it was and I am amazed at how far i have come along.

OhBlondie, its a construction clean and they would probably go back 2 or 3 times because the dust will just keep settling for a few days even when you think its all done. They are expensive for that reason. Good job doing it yourself but you may need to re do areas still later.
I had a take care of me kinda morning. Washed my hair really well and used lots of conditioner Did my own facial Moisturized my feet with a few drops of oil added.
I do feel better.
Today DH said he had a DR appointment but i drove him there and he did not have one. We had a fast food breakfast then home again. It was sunny for a while but now cloudy again. 51F here Diane....your weather is probably on its way here. Migraine seems to be gone but i was in a foul mood this morning. I hope to be nicer for the rest of the day.

Wow ohblondie that is one heck of a weekend of cleaning! Happy Monday everyone, it's the start of a whole new week and a blank page, ready to be filled with lots of progress.
Funny you should say that about doctor's appointments oust! This morning I awoke before my alarm, was ready ten minutes early, and just decided to head off as I could use the extra ten minutes at work this morning. I messaged boyfriend to say I was leaving at 08.25, rather than my usual 08.35 as he usually comes downstairs just as I'm leaving to say goodbye. All last week, he'd been getting down a little bit earlier to help me de-ice my car. He realised at 08.30 this morning that he had a 09.00 doctor's appointment, which would have been on my way to work and easy to drop him off, but he doesn't drive. Nobody's fault, but what an unfortunate coincidence! He did manage to get a bus and was only ten minutes late so luckily was still seen. They mentioned he had another appointment booked for something else at 13.30, so he got a bus home, then gave up his lunch hour to go back, only to find the afternoon appointment was supposed to be a phone appointment that had been put in the system incorrectly! Needless to say he's exhausted from all the to-ing and fro-ing, as it's a decent walk to and from the bus stop at either end. A shame I couldn't save him the walk this morning at least, but c'est la vie! He's now laid out on the couch complaining of sore feet!
I managed to leave work a bit early today, and spent half an hour continuing to work in the spare bedroom.
Done: Properly arranged my two boxes of childhood toys that I am keeping (after first pass through) so everything fits in them Enlisted boyfriend to help with moving boxes under the spare bed - toy boxes are both now away, and two boxes to go through are out Emptied the final drawer of a small cardboard unit - everything is either thrown away, put in the sentimental items box or is stationery earmarked to take to the office later Added two things to the donate box Cut up old bank cards, and trashed several other items
To do: Put the stationery I found in the stationery box in the office Go through the box of food (shelf stable bakery supplies, but still) from under the bed - it should probably all be thrown out Load of bf's laundry on after dinner
Working in the spare room has been interesting, because I am definitely finding I am a micro-organiser. Some places in my house are meticulously organised - collections arranged alphabetically, etc. but the spare room just has so much stuff in it that I can't get bogged down in finding the perfect place for everything. I am needing to macro-organise with broad categories for a change just to get any progress made at all. I'm finding having a "miscellaneous stuff to sort out later" box is really helpful at not forcing me to make decisions!

Good morning oust and reve!
Oust, 51--wow, that's warm, enjoy it while you can!
Reve, good that you recognize that you need to macro-oganize, I think that's a problem for lots of us, it's the perfectionism thing again. If you can keep things meticulously organized that's great, but perfectionism makes us think that if we can't have things just so, what's the point in doing anything. I think it's a stumbling block in paper filing in particular, most people try to file things in too many categories and that's too hard so they never really get a system going. Flexibility is good.

Take dog out and feed her 10 minutes on first floor 10 minutes on filing Delete 30 emails
