Good afternoon reve!
Oust, there's nothing wrong with picking up an item outside as long as you need it now and will use it! I've done that many times. Where we get into trouble is seeing anything that is still useable and saying "I'd better take that just in case someone needs it one day." That's something I've done too, and now I finally know not to do that.
I am pleased to say that out of 11 books in the shopping bag, I'm keeping 5, I'm getting rid of 5 for sure, and there is 1 on my desk that I still need to decide about, but will probably get rid of once I take a look at it.
I'm going to do one more list before dinner.
Next:
10 minutes on PEEPing 10 minutes on taxes Go through pile of mail Delete 10 hard emails

DVD came over distressed by a health issue that just popped up. So I got distracted and only went to the bank and pharmacy. I did pick up dinner and stopped by my folks. Found out the parent company of my pharmacy (Pharmaca) is in bankruptcy so is having supply chain issues. *sigh* we moved to them because of the issues at other pharmacies.
I am feeling better this evening but not in the mood to work. Going to try and go to bed earlier.

Ugh, mylittlescholar and peaceseeker I think that I need t make a gratitude list, too. During my lunch break, I called to be sure new Dr. Group received Mom's medical records forms that I emailed over the weekend. They did. Then, I left message with Mom's nurse in the group to return my call re: medications, and lab work that's needed. Called owner of Group Home and asked her about the questions that I had re: new group & the lab work, medications, and results of urinalysis that was done. It was a really good phone call & wish that I had called herf before I left the message for the nurse with the group. All is good. Nurse returned my call just after that, & I told her that owner of the home had been able to answer all of my questions & that I greatly appreciated her call back. Dieted successfully. Ended up drinking at least 48 oz of water. May havee another 8 oz before I go to sleep. G'night y'all. Gonna go to bed early CD

a cold Tuesday night! cando your workday with the man crying sounds so hard!!! hugs! thanks for thinking of me. When DD leaves, I feel so sad! I keep thinking she is up in her room and this weekend I was making plans thinking oh DD needs the car Saturday...I am so grateful she is happy at college and that is just where I want her to be but ... I miss her!!! she is fun and lively and adds pure joy (most of the time L O L!) Diane, her break was so long! I think she'd prefer a three-week break. so today I returned to the office. I was working at home thursday and out Fri and Mon. I am the type who likes having a place to go, so it was OK to head back in (but I do love the hybrid model that I have). I am behind on several very important projects .. I think Chaos is annoyed with me! her new boss arrives tomorrow, so much change and churn at work! I had to go home at lunch to tend to puppy, now that DD is back at school. We played soccer in the cold weather and snow! I ended up working late trying to catch up. Came home, had a super humble dinner. took puppy for a walk and felt bad as I was annoyed with her -- she absolutely loves the cold and snow and is more energized than ever and puppy was pulling so hard on the leash, and it was so dark, and I was worried about black ice. right now, she is bringing me a tennis ball. play mommy play!!! cats are asleep, well boycat is dozing but keeping an eye on puppy. puppy is now eating cat food... anyway! I worked on my finances tonight, updated check book and set up all the bills that will be paid this pay period. did the dishes. I think what will help me in my non DD days is routines. I keep thinking routines will be my saving grace. When DD leaves I become an introvert with little motivation, at least initially. these are the routines I hope to follow make bed each day get ready for work on work days in a timely fashion so I am not late (aka get up on time!) read emails with bible verse updates from some ministries first thing! play wordle. pack lunch on office days deal with mail each day -- either deal or file or recycle or shred. no more "maybe stacks." do the litter each day. take puppy for a walk. make sure I eat fruit and veggies every day (my humble dinners are often too humble.) go to bed to an empty sink. go to bed in a timely fashion (up a bit too late today) do full nighttime routine (wash face, use moisturizer, brush teeth, floss, mouthwash) I think if I follow this daily routine plus laundry, cleaning, groceries, bill paying, as necessary, things will run well, and it will help me deal with my sadness. I am up too late! will go to bed and maybe sneak in a little netflix

Good morning PS!
It was still so cold out when I took the dog out this morning, but today and tomorrow will be around 25, so more average. Then one more 10 degree day on Friday, then a week with temps between 35 and 45! This is really not a typical winter, I saw an article that said our January was an average of 9 degrees warmer than usual.
Today is a phone call day so I'll try to get things done in the morning.

My taxes are finished except for making copies of the finished forms, writing the check for $3.00 that I owe to the state, and packing them up and sending them off. I'm waiting for the actual paper copy of my bank form because I need a 1099 form for interest to include and since I will get it in the next few days I don't see a reason to print it and waste ink.
I have time for one more list before my phone call.
Next:
Retrieve dry laundry from basement Change calendars to February 10 minutes on books Delete 10 hard emails

Hello all, hump day is here again! It's been a ludicrously busy one at work, with people demanding my attention left, right and centre, so I was very late home this evening (two and a half hours after my official finish time!) It may not be a day of much forward progress, but I'm at least trying to maintain where I am.
Done: - Load of laundry - Laundry from machine to dryer - Bagged up clean laundry - Achieved dining table zero - Emailed the bathroom design and installation firm with the filled in survey and measurements from yesterday, and photos I took of the bathroom (that I only removed three items from the bathroom to take! Incredible!) - I'm really proud of this one, because this kind of organisation is something I really struggle with.
I've also just done a little bit of clothes shopping and it's interesting to see how my attitude to that is starting to change. I had my mind set on replacing a few items that are either worn out (and actually throwing out the things I am replacing!), or in the case of my black jeggings, seem to have vanished off the face of the earth! I've left it a few months to look for them, but I really could do with something that is comfier than my jeans, but smarter than sweat pants for the busy month ahead of me. I managed to get like for like replacements, and though I had thought about looking at sale buys and being sure there was nothing that took my fancy I hadn't considered, I stopped myself and stuck to the specific things I was shopping for. I had also thought of getting some multiples of a favourite plain black top that I am wearing twice a week to work that is so incredibly comfortable, but I've held off for now because I know I have a few more work tops to sort through and try on. One concept I have come across in some videos on decluttering/minimalism is the idea of having a "uniform" of particular clothes you know you like, feel comfortable in, and look smart in. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I'm coming round to the idea - comfortable, boxy fit black shirt with smart, bootcut dark checked bottoms for work days, and jeggings and t-shirts for weekends.
