Ok, gearing up for my biggest challenge of the day...
Pick up strawberry box that is currently in my foyer area that contains a shopping bag full of rotting apples and take them outside. Then put on boots and take said apples across the street out in to the field and dump. These apples have been sitting there for at least a month... THere are more apples on my porch that will also need to be walked across the street. I finally moved those out of the house a few days ago.

Great job with all of the yard work despite the heat razy ! I DID IT - THE APPLES ARE GONE!!!!! The disgusting plastic bags and strawberry flat are still on my front lawn along with compost containers that i emptied a few nights ago that were too gross to bring inside (the containers had sat in my kitchen for far too long and had evolved into murky, smelly soup). Thankfully we had a huge rainstorm and they filled with water and are all soaking! So, I need to deal with all of that at some point. I NEED TO SAY IT AGAIN - THE APPLES ARE GONE! They were completely rotten to mush, covered with tiny maggots, with a cloud of fruit flies above them. Lovely! Just sittin' in my foyer near my kitchen for weeks. I now have to deal with the wood floor. Thankfully i had moved them to a waxed strawberry picking flat which kept the leakage to a minimum. Not outside, mind you, just to a semi-permeable container still inside. Wow. I think I will try your hot rag method Unswamping . BTW - phoenixcat - I love that the L word won't work on these boards! That's fabulous and so supportive. That's a word that I grew up with and it's just not accurate.

WOO HOO for apples being gone! I'm eating a MacIntosh in your honor right now! I had that issue at DM's. She lived on a farm and as she aged - she just wasn't capable of clearing out fridges/freezers to get them to either the "compost" site (for the local critters) or out to the road for the garbage. It's a BIG job for sure when it requires walking with disgusting things. I'm glad you showed the fruit flies a new home. 1) laundry switch 2) put away clean dishes 3) PEEP Soup is done and smells good. What should I do next? I'd better PEEP.

Sea-Pony!!!
My stopping point is often the stain remover part, but I got that done thanks to the laundry challenge. Was just texting to a new friend, which makes me happy. I also did a proactive thing. I laundered some summer things (as the weather changed quite suddenly) SO I got out a bin, found the labels, eraser, and pen, labeled it, and started filling it with clean summer clothing.
flip laundry put clean laundry away in its final destination
refill humidifier
round up dishes load dw soak ones not quite ready

razy on getting the lawn mowed. Glad you are cooling down and hydrating, thats really important.
seahorse on getting those apples out! I hope the hot rag helps. I love that trick. It works great on stove spills too. When i start washing dishes, the first thing i do i put a hot rag on any stove top spills. Let it sit while i wash and then just swish and swipe. clean stove. (I will admit when i joined here, i did only one section of stove top at a time. Then again, i had a months worth of dishes so lots of dish washing sessions to work on the stove top).
phoenixcat how is the laundry?
mylittlescholar sea-pony! I love it! You are such a sweetie! Great job on setting up a summer clothes bin. Yes, its crazy weather time. I get around the stain remover part by using shout spray (or whatever brand). It sits on tray right inside bathroom door (where i keep laundry detergent etc). As soon as i spill something or notice a stain, i walk in bathroom, take off clothing item, spray and toss in hamper. I know the gel works the best, the stick next best but its too much fussing. I keep my hampers in the bathroom. Otherwise i would keep my spray stain remover wherever i kept my hamper. If i dont treat it before it goes in the hamper, it wont happen. Great job on laundry.
Load four is in dryer. Load three folded and put away. Loads one and two folded and sitting on top of dryer. I will put them away as soon as i post this otherwise it will be a comfy cat bed tonight. I finished the hat, will start another one.

Our sole dog who didn't like fruit has passed away.

soapyclean I didn't really "like" your post - I just read it. Sorry you haven't been feeling well. razy Crazy temperature swings are a recipe for sickness. Be careful! Unswamping I just put away all the folding clothes. I have DH's shirts in the washer and dryer right now and that is the last of the clothes. But never fear - to infinity and beyond for linen laundry. Clearing off the area around my washer/dryer to sort and fold has been worth every painful minute of that clean-out. SO much easier to put away drawer by drawer. mylittlescholar - I'm like Swampy - I just treat it and throw it in the laundry hamper. Now if only I could get DH to do that or at least MENTION to me that he has a weird stain. Still haven't PEEPed. Ate soup for supper and now getting ready to go by DM's. You may not see me until tomorrow.

lassiness (not using the L word) Another tip Seahorse - Lazee is a bad word around here. The computer will *** it out if you use it in the correct spelling. I often use lassie as that is how my spell correct will try and change it. That word is a stereotype and most of the time it is wildly inaccurate. There are some on this board that can explain its use or lack of use better than I can. Lion where are you? CourageouslyLion SeeksSerenity seahorse, phoenixcatHere are three very very old threads about why the "L-word" (Layzee) is not used on this site. They are good discussions. Just keep in mind that they are old threads and some of the participants may not be active here anymore, and ... perhaps some participants may have moved forward with their lives and cleaned their homes in the years since the posts were made. This thread from the year 2009, was originally titled "la-zi-ness" (without the hyphens) but the forum automatically changed the thread title to *** takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/6560/This thread from the year 2009, "what if I really am the L-word" takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/6657/This thread from the year 2010, "about the L-word, why taboo?" Note that this thread has an interesting debate and discussion: takeonestepatatime.proboards.com/thread/8904/
